ottimo hotel, pulito, in riva al mare e con camera spaziosa, colazione varia. il menu del pranzo/cena: prezzi modici, specialita' di alta qualita' e anche semplici. Personale estremamente gentile e disponibile. la piscina era pulita diverse volte al giorno. alle 18h30 lo staff spruzza l'insetticida, tira le zanzariere in ogni stanza, e porta anche un dolcetto per la notte. la notte gecki (7- 30cm!): non aprite la porta finestra. sulla proprieta' ci sono diversi esemplari non pericolosi. ideale per relax. Great hotel on the beach, clean and with a big room. breakfast with many options; the lunch/dinner menu is gr8: the chef can also cook simple things! the staff is extremely nice and helpful. the pool was cleaned 3 times a day. at 6:30pm the staff sprays some bug killer, opens the screens on the beds and leaves a sweet for the night. at night small and big geckos (7 to 30cm) chill on your balcony. in case, don't open the door. a diverse harmless wildlife on the hotel property

A pearl in Ngwe Saung! A super cozy place to chill all day at the beach - just a few sunbeds with a sun-shading construction above so you may fully enjoy this deserted beach and feel totally relaxed :) Staff is amazing, helped us with everything, including bus tickets, medicine, snorkelling, tuk tuk etc. If you want to have peace and quiet, take a deep breath, have some beautiful time in a beautiful place - come here! Wonderful garden under the shadow of a coconut plantation, facing the Bay of Bengal and a beautiful sandy beach. Very good food at the restaurant opening on a lovely swimming pool. Beautiful bungalows especially the ones with sea view.

I love how green this place is. The pool is shaded by them make it a nice refuge from the heat. Food wasn't the greatest but it was sufficient. Pets seemed to be allowed which was a nice surprise.

Probably the best service I've ever experienced ”
We spent 3 lovely nights at the Emerald Sea Resort. I've never come across a hotel staff so eager to please as this one. They ALWAYS are smiling, even the gardeners and housekeepers. Rooms are cleaned twice per day, wait staff always offer to fold napkins over your lap, they deliver traditional Burmese desserts to your room at night, they will bike into town and buy you a bus ticket at no extra charge, they'll prepare breakfast for you to take if you have to check out early....I could go on and on about how wonderful the service is here but you get the picture. The young, student-aged staff really go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. Ngwesaung Beach is a slice of heaven. Enjoy it now before the big developers find it. Currently you are just as likely to see a herd of buffalo walking across the beach as you are to see another group of tourists. Try a beach holiday in Burma instead of Thailand!

We have stayed at most major hotels at NgweSaung over the years, but this was our first time at Emerald Sea. The staff really made us feel at home and went beyond the call of duty. We had some car trouble and the manager found a competent local mechanic who was able to fix the car on the spot. Everyone was extremely polite and helpful. The resort is situated on the best and cleanest stretch of the beach and the "garden" atmosphere around the bungalows is a nice contrast to the beach at noontime. The only room for improvement I could recommend would be in the facilities. The pool is relatively small, but we do not go to the beach to use a pool. It would also be nice to have a billiard table--but these are suggestions, not complaints.

Had a lovely time at Emerald Sea Resort. As it was still rainy season (rained about an hour a day) we had the resort mostly to ourselves but I still think it would be a special place, even if full. The wide, clean beach is great for walking and swimming. There are pretty gardens and very pleasant bungalows. But best is the delightful staff. They are friendly, helpful and nothing is too large a request. We especially enjoyed the restaurant staff. If we return to Myanmar, we will certainly return to Emerald Sea.

Nice hotel at huge lonely beach! ”
We spent some days at the Emerald Sea after having travelled the country. We were not looking for nightlife or any form of entertainment there, just for relaxing at a great beach in a nice hotel. This hotel was ideal for the purpose. Rooms, pool and beach area were very clean, rooms were cleaned twice a day. The beach was almost deserted and it's huge. The sea is not really calm, waves were pretty high. We particularly enjoyed the seafood at the hotel restaurant. We tried a few other places, but found the hotel was best while still reasonably priced (main courses at around 4000 kyat). Staff was really nice at all times, though some speak hardly any English. View from the sea front bungalow is fabulous, it was like having first row seats for the sunset every night. For 100$ per night you might expect a litlle more (especially when comparing to Thailand), but it seems to be quite normal pricing for the area. Unfortunately the so called Spa is not worth its money (we tried the footmassage for 5,000 kyat) but other hotels offer a wide variety of treatments and it is probably worth spending a bit more in one of the more expensive places.

I stayed at Emerald Sea Resort for three days and loved it. The hotel was very clean and tidy, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. A nice little detail was the dessert every night that were put in your room along with hot water for tea or coffee. Would come back any time!!!

Nice location, very bad food, bad value for money”
The hotel is located directly at the beach, a quite small resort with nice bungalows. At the first glance, everything was perfect. After the first dinner we decided to eat elsewhere, the food was terrible, very oily, cold spaghetti and so on. The rooms are nice and big enough but everything is a little bid runned down. The stuff was extremely helpful, attentive and very child-friendly! On the other hand, the language skills of the staff - except 2 people at the reception - were extremely bad, we had to talk with hands and feets. Moreover, the hotel is very expensive for what you get. To sum up, if you want to have nice vacation in Ngew Saum Beach, dont go to the Emerald Sea Resort. Book at the Palm Beach Resort just 500m towards the village. We always had breakfast, lunch and dinner there, food is exzellent, the staff have ok language skills and is very friendly. This hotel is in a much better condition than the Emerald Sea Resort, has a very nice pool with view to the sea and its own library.

A good value (by Myanmar standards) Ngwesaung beachfront hotel, nice environmentally sensitive architecture (owner is an architect), friendly helpful staff. Good shaded pool. Meal service a bit slow, internet patchy (not their fault). better value than nearby Palm Beach rsort and almost as attractive although the breakfast menu there is a bit better.
