Excellent Hotel ”
Excellent hotel, in an excellent location, close to the night market and in general. The staff is amazing and welcoming. The reception staff is great and happy to help and always smile on the face. There is a small and marginal note sometimes the internet was not good on the 17th floor where our room was for 6 nights. In any event I am sure I will return on the next visit to this hotel and will warmly recommend to my friends.

The Empress is a beautiful hotel with a great staff. I can’t say enough about how well I was treated by the staff, particularly Aoy at the front desk. She did everything she could to make my stay more enjoyable. The bed in my room was better than most but due to back surgery I prefer a very soft bed. I asked her if she could help and within minutes I had a mattress topper on my bed. Now that’s service! Fresh fruit plate delivered to your room and friendly greetings from everyone everyday. It was a pleasure just being there. The Empress has one of the larger pools in Chiang Mai and it is well maintained. Towels are provided and there are nice restrooms available as well. The gym is well equipped and very clean. Due to covid and the lack of tourism the main Empress Hotel is still closed. The smaller, but still very large, Empress Premier building is the only one operating at this time. The restaurants are closed but room service is available. Grab taxis are readily available to go anywhere in the city for $2 to $4 and the list of great restaurants is endless. It was very quiet and the room was extremely comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay.

I will never stay anywhere else in Chiang Mai”
I've never been treated so well by hotel staff. This is one of the oldest hotels in Chiang Mai and it has the total Lanna culture and attitude. I don't know why my son and I got so lucky but upon arrival they upgraded us to a better room and then they brought a lovely basket of snacks with probably $40 worth of stuff in it. Then they invited us to a free 7 course dinner with free drinks. I had never stayed here and was treated like royalty. The breakfasts are superb. Freshly baked bread and anything you would want whether you are Asian or Western. If anybody asks me where to stay in Chiang Mai, I will tell them Empress Hotel.

We have a wonderful stay at the hotel. No complaints, everything is to our satisfaction. Friendly staff, clean room, good choice of food at breakfast. Not too far, about 10 min walk to large Anusarn night market. Or can take taxi cost about 20 to max 30 Baht per person within city limit. Will surely stay in Empress again when in Chiangmai.

clean, well-maintained decor and facilities, careful attention is paid to little details and pleasant surprises such as welcome platter of fruit, welcome snack bag, good night orchid on pillow, beautifully presented (and tasty!) 'thank you' cake and flowers after meal in restaurant. courteous, cheerful and efficient staff at all levels, convenient and quiet location, impressive buffet meals. would definitely stay again.

Empress Hotel Chiang Mai July 2019”
Second visit in last year. Absolutely fantastic. Now a large complex but Empress Hotel is great. The new Empress Premier Hotel and joined by a walkway is 5 star and rooms and facilities excellent but the older hotel is more Thai and has a great feel about it. As other guys say the staff are great especially the head waiter Wet. Will definitely go again and would not think of staying anywhere else in Chiang Mai. Paul Moriarty.

My daughter got fever suddenly before we were about to leave for airport in the morning of our returned date. Staff were very nice, kind, and helpful who sent us to hospital then to airport so that we could manage to fly back in time within short hours. Staff worked with smile plus heart. Very nice hotel in the heart of Chiangmai located about 1 KM from the old city. Staff was friendly, spoke good English, and very attentive to every need. Upon arrival my wife was given a nice bouquet of flowers an we were given a free upgrade to an executive suite. The regular price would be too expensive but due to the decline in tourism, we revived a deep discount on Agoda so made it an excellent bargain. Pool was clean and nice.

We stayed in Empress Hotel for 7 nights during Christmas holidays. The hotel provided excellent services during our stay. They not only helped arrange holiday activities, but also provided free transport for my motherboard's urgent dental appointment. The hotel staffs are all with friendly smile and provide great services. The breakfast and dinner are both excellent. We will be very sure to come back in the future.

It's an old house (guess around 30 years..) butz very well kept. Clean, cosy with this friendly, warm and welcoming touch. Huge breakfast-bufft for all tastes. Absolutely nothing to complain. Four nights is much too short for all these many fine sights to see and visit !
