Service without competence”
I have stayed with Alagon 2 or 3 times before. I thought they were great previously but this time something changed. 1. The check-in lady insisted on applying a largely ignored law of charging an extra room to local/foreign couples (in 10 years around all parts of VN this is only applied by Alagon?) This distinctly looks like a deceitful attempt to make money by the management board. Certainly a great way to alienate a customer base of mixed nationality couples. There was no notification or advisory that the hotel applied this rule when I booked through Agoda. Also nowhere else in VN seems to apply this rule: not Mui Ne, Phu Quoc, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Sapa, Danang, Hoi An and so on. 2. On 4.30AM check out. One staff asleep, have to wake him to find out how to check out, get breakfast etc. Other staff forget to return passport to my girlfriend and blame us. Result: a frantic drive back and forth across SG to avoid missing flight. There were more issues too but no space to write it. AWFUL.

We were asked to pay some more during our checkout date”
We thought we booked at the Alagon Saigon Hotel & Spa but we were given a room that's on the other side that's showing it's age. The hotel imposed their own exchange rate. On our check in date we paid everything, but when we checked out, we were asked to pay some more. The exchange rate was different from what was stated on Agoda.

Location is great but staff courtesy and helpfullness is a hit or miss scenario.”
Location is good and the rooms are big enougb and confirtable but lighting could be better specially inside the bathroom. Hotel has 2 entrances and hey have roofdeck pool, jacuzzi and bar. Oh by yhe way, you’ll be charged $2 for the laundry bag. The front desk is rude specially if they can’t understand english...surprising for a hotel with a lot of western guests.

one of those hotels that cheat (avoid at all cost) ”
I booked 3 premium deluxe with pool access. I was charged all 3 rooms at the same price. Upon checked in, I was given room 127, 128 and 227. I stayed at 227 while the other family members stayed at 127 and 128. Next day when I visited their rooms, it was obvious it's a deluxe. So I went to the check in counter and enquired. The same lady who checked us in insisted its the same. I counted footsteps from the window to the door. 227 was 25 footsteps while 127 and 128 were 20 footsteps. Yet they insisted that its the same. It's obvious this Alagon hotels are cheaters. Shameful. And for agoda to partner with them, it's really such a shame.

Misleading”
We chose the Saigon branch due to better reviews and price (we assumed was associated with a better room). Turns out the 5 hotels are all linked and our room was essentially one from citypoint with a pool access and afternoon tea l voucher. Had we known we would opted for the cheaper option. Superior room is very small.

Above average”
We had two stays in the hotel ...in-between visiting different locations in Vietnam ..we were able to leave our luggage there whilst we were travelling ...it’s quite confusing checking in as there are three receptions for different parts of the hotel ..odd ...the rooms we had were supposedly Deluxe but not sure about that they were adequate for us .The hotel is in a great location ...the staff very helpful and breakfast was good plenty of choice ..also they serve an afternoon tea which is included in the room price .nice touch and staff very efficient ...pool area very busy not a lot of sun beds ..but not a lot they can do due to lack of space ..I would recommend this hotel if only for location ..but pay for the best room you can afford ...

Modern hotel with a perfect location and amazing rooftop ”
We can only recommend this hotel. It is perfectly located in the city center, you can reach all sight seings by foot. The room is small, but very nice. The rooftop with a pool and bar is amazing. The young staff in the rooftop bar is very friendly and the view from there is great. The only thing - it is extreeemly cold in the breakfast rooms, you need a jacket or scarf.

Great ammenities”
I absolutely loved the roof top, which had a gym, a pool, a sauna, a rooftop bar, and a nice lounge space. I think that was the selling point for me since I did enjoy spending a lot of my time on the roof. Breakfast was very good. Location was prime. Only complaint was that there were a lot of tiny ants crawling around our desk???? If we left one empty used glass of soda on the counter for 2 hours, it was covered in ants. But the room itself was clean.

Bad experience”
I was really disappointed regarding what Alagon offered to me. I book a room at Alagon Saigon but they gave me a room in Alagon city( lower standard). My booking included welcome drink but no one gave me a cup of water. The room is small. The bathroom is tiny with wet walking in shower. Aircon remote control & tv remote control does not work due to out of battery. Stay away from this hotel if you dont want to ruin your trip.

excellent, only complaint is the coffee”
This hotel was quite a bit more expensive than places we usually stay at, so we were definitely paying for the good facilities and good service that we got. The staff was exceptional! They gave us cold juice upon arrival, and took our bags up to our room. My boyfriend went down to reception to ask for a converter. They had it delivered to the room before he'd even made it back up. They helped us book a tour to the Cu Chi tunnels. Every time we asked for something, it was done immediately and with a smile! There was a free breakfast buffet, free afternoon tea or coffee with snacks (cakes, cookies, fruit, etc.) and one free hot tub or pool use (as long as you want) per day. The hot tub was nice, but the pool was too cold to really enjoy. The location was on one end of the main restaurant and bar strip, as opposed to within it, but we still walked everywhere. The rooms were really nice. The coffee was weak, which was disappointing since Vietnamese coffee is so good.

Awful”
Despite a reasonable reception area our room was so awful that if it hadn't been so late at night we would have checked out even if it meant loosing our money. The room was tiny with a window straight on to a wall. The room had not been refurbished in at least 30 years. Apart from being a mis ash of styles there was paper peeling off the walls and bits falling off. Really horrible and depressing. They have absolutely no right to even try and sell a room like that
