    Great except for wi fi”
Everything was great except wi fi. Only 500mb per 24 hours before you had to pay and often found wi fi would "connect" but no internet. Occurred across 2 phones and 2 tablets so not a device issue.

    Very good”
The hotel staff was extremely helpful and they kept our luggage for the little extra time we had after checkout which was a plus however the internet was poor as you are only getting 500mb for the 24 hours and that can finish in less than an hour, parking fees were a bit on the high side as compared to a couple other. Nevertheless the hotel would cater for any request

Nice hotel with good facilities and friendly staff”
In my opinion the location of this hotel is pretty convenient to begin any tour, since it is very 7 minute-walk to the bus stop where Manabus start their trips, so it is very convenient to visit the surrounding areas. Also, the hotel is pretty clean and in terms of services it was pretty acceptable

    Convenient but poor service”
Other side of the street was chocker with homeless people sleeping along the pavement outside the City Mission. I didn't feel safe going out at night there, and I was preoccupied with the of shock of seeing things had become that bad (lived in Auckland 20 years ago, didn't see anywhere near as many homeless back then). As for the hotel, the room was nice but bathroom supplies were basic (e.g. pretty much just soap); also coffee/sugar etc. I'd used them up after the first day but the housekeeping team didn't service my room, despite being noisy in the corridor having an animated discussion about something in a foreign language. When I realised they weren't going to service my room, I went out to ask for more coffee etc. and my questions were ignored by the housekeeper I addressed, who didn't respond until I started taking the sachets off her trolley! Reception staff had mixed attitudes, some friendly and some not so friendly.

Cold 7am shower, strange smell of homeless people in the foyer!”
Price - was ok at $129 on a Monday night, however the 100 dollar deposit is a little annoying. Location - directly across the road from the homeless shelter, so few crazy people when visiting the local minimart. Cleanliness - Room and linen was great, towel all fresh. Unfortunately a homeless/unwashed smell greets you at the foyer area at 11pm at night, a little like nacho cheese! very off putting. Staff - No issues, calm and professional manner. Facilities - Cold shower in the morning, even at 7am. Needs a USB point in the room for devices, had to go down the road for a 10 dollar crappy charger at 1am.. All in all, ok for the night however few location issues and strange smells

    Pleasant experience and friendly staff”
Excellent location. Very close to everything. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I asked one of the staff the checkout time and she helped me to extend one hour without asking the reason. Indeed I was sick and it really helped me a lot. I would return if I visit Auckland again.

Value- but rooms are overlooked by units”
We enjoyed our stay. Our only negative would be if you are in during the day early evening we were not able to open the curtains as there are no sheer curtain coverings and the apartments and offices are quite close so you have no privacy.

    Godd hotel to stay”
There is a skybus stop which is convience to airport. Only $18 one way to airport, 45min. The service in city hotel is good. There are a few restaurants near hotel. It takes 10min walking to Queen Street, including countdown and new world markets. Really want to go back to stay in this hotel in the future.

CBD Hotel convenient to about everything”
This hotel was exactly what we wanted. A nice room with kitchette, well-priced for a CBD location. It is a four block walk from the Airport Flybus station on Queen Street, and one block from the orange bus line that goes to the history museum and the technology museum. It is a 15 minute walk to the Maritime Museum, and there are many nearby restaurants and shops. The staff is very helpful, has loaner umbrellas, and let us delay checkout a couple hours due to some personal issues we had. We would stay there again.

Great room so long as you are no more than 4 foot tall. Not enough room to swing a mouse let-alone a cat. The room had cooking facilities - no idea where you was supposed to eat anything that you cooked.

    Far too expensive”
We were in Auckland for 3 days. The City Hotel is extremely expensive for what it can offer. The city centre is not enjoyable - chaotic, dirty, parking difficulties (in the hotel is $30 per day!), facilities in general.

This place could use a remodel, the lobby seemed ok, but our room was pretty basic and tired for the price we paid. Shower was moldy, walls scuffed up. Staff was pleasant.

    Just OK”
Not in a very pleasant area. Taxing uphill walk. Quite a distance from Spark arena but not too far to restaurants and Queen Street. Inadequate air con during a very hot humid summer. We overpaid a premium price due to Auckland being heavily booked when we stayed. Not worth the cost. Friendly staff and room was clean but would not stay again.

I stayed at the Auckland City Hotel after checking out of a really bad other hotel. There, the staff went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The room was really big, the bed super comfortable. I will definitely stay there on my next trip to Auckland!

This is was great place to stay at - we arrived in Auckland late, managed to find a free carpark outside the hotel, which made things easier and cheaper. It's easy to get on and off the motorways and close to all the places we needed to visit during our stay.

Great price and location, modest amenities”
I brought my family for a week-long stay in Auckland and we booked ACH because we needed two rooms (there are 5 of us) and I wanted to stretch our dollars a bit. ACH offered queen rooms for a great price in Auckland Center. First, the positives: - The location is fantastic. We were only two short blocks from the famous Sky Tower and near a huge variety of restaurants and shops. - Though there's no onsite gym, you get free vouchers to train or swim at the nearby Tepid Baths, a public pool and gym that is really well kept. It's a 10-minute walk from the hotel towards the harbor. - The rooms are very affordable. If you just need a clean place to sleep and a decent shower, this is a great option. The negatives: - The rooms are a bit cramped. I felt like we were climbing over each other and our stuff the entire time. - The free WiFi amounts to 500mb per day. Normal Internet usage will exhaust that bandwidth within a few minutes. We opted to pay for unlimited bandwidth ($75NZ) for work.

Could hardly sleep as the bed was so uncomfortable. There were no screens on the windows and a gigantic portable air conditioning unit which sounded like a lawnmower. Although the staff were friendly it seemed like an extremely budget hotel. Would not recommend.
