My stay of 3 nights in Sea View Bungalow was fastastic! Firstly there is no tv, no hot water and no aircon but who needs all that when u choose to be Castaway! The view of the beach is enough to make u occupied, and theres a big fan on top of ur bed to keep u cool all night. The room is very clean and cozy. Not to mention theres 2 hammock hanging outside for u to laze around all day. I was also vey pleased with the staff. They were all very helpful, during my check in they even checked to see whether i have already arranged for a ferry back to Pak Bara. I paid sgd 200 for 3 nights with breakfast. Breakfast was just awesome, u have the option to choose up to 4 different course meal. I was there in sept 2015 so it was the low season hence Sunrise Beach is the cleanest. However if anyone plan to go during the peak period, Pattaya Beach is the cleanest(Castaway Resort is in Sunrise Beach). Oh not forgetting 3 key points! 1. They will cater free Long Tail boat to pontoon where u will take ur ferry to Pak Bara (this is just for ur check out day so if u r coming to Koh Lipe u still need to pay 50 baht to board the longtail, its not an option. Thats the only way to take u to your resort) 2. There is no wifi in your room. However there is wifi in the reception area. I was lucky to hav my room located near the reception area so i still get my wifi connection. 3. The resort is in Sunrise Beach. Be sure to wake up early and sit at the comfort of ur bed to catch the sunrise. Yes u dont have to leave ur bed to witness it. I promise it was breathtaking. **Many also was not informed that there is an additional charge of 20baht/person to enter Pak Bara jetty and another 50baht/person to board the longtail boat frm the pontoon to your resort. The ferry u board from Pak Bara will not take u direct to Koh Lipe, it will stop at a pontoon thats where u have to take the longtail boat.

Perfect hote for the natural "simple life"”

Castaway is as advertised. It is not a luxury hotel, but a very nice Eco-friendly bungalow resort. I highly recommend it for the simple life aspect of it. The food and staff are lovely. The deck is a great place to hang out for breakfast and drinks, and to see all the stars at night. Honestly speaking, there is no need for aircon at night or hot water so don't worry about that. It does get a bit hot in the bungalows during the day but why would you stay in your room during a vacation to an island. As far as Lipe goes, it's one of the nicest resorts on the island. I went and looked at all the resorts on Sunrise beach and Castaway was one of the best despite being at a lower price point. There was basically only one other resort I would have preferred to stay at and it was 4x the price. Normally I only stay at 5 star hotels but I was very balky at Castaway.

Pure Paradise, highly recommend!”

We throughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Castaway only problem was it wasn’t long enough!! All Staff are super helpful and friendly. The accomodation is right on Sunrise beach which is has far less tourists than nearby Pattaya beach. There is So much character in these beautiful beach huts which we absolutely loved. If you want air conditioning or don’t like mosquitoes then basically don’t stay in Koh Lipe island. Breakfast selection was fantastic too and such great value for money. Thank you. This resort is excellent we loved our stay here we will be back!!

A dream”

The castaway was a pleasure from the moment we arrived. There is a member of staff waiting at every ferry arrival for directions and to take luggage. It is a very short walk from the ferry drop off. Whilst checking in we were given a cold juice and told to sit and relax, which was appreciated after the crazy speedboat ride. There is a delicious free (All day!!) breakfast and the bar has 2 for 1 cocktails during happy hour. The beach looks like a postcard and the view from the common space/bar/restaurant is heavenly! The only downside of this place is that the rooms are fan only and it's stinking hot. It's very dark at night coming from walking street but the neighbouring hotel has tiki torches back to the beach. Just take a torch and plenty of mosquito repellant as there are lots of mozzies. Lipe is so beautiful and the Castaway is the perfect place to stay for a sublime Lipe experience.

Fantastic beach holiday”

We had a wonderful stay at Castaway and even tried to extend our trip but unfortunately the resort was full!! The breakfasts are great and the mango smoothies are amazing when they have them in stock! The rooms are lovely (although beware stairs and balcony if you have very young children) The bed was very comfortable and is equipped with mosquito net and plug in ( which we definitely needed when we were there!!) The bathroom was well equipped with rain shower but the water pressure was not great so difficult to wash your hair properly after a day on the beach! I would recommend a stay at Castaway Resort... It is a little but expensive for what it is but the location on sunrise beach is amazing! If you want the feel of being a back packer but with a little but more luxury then Castaway is perfect. Just pack some mosquito spray and a torch :-)

Relaxing and enjoyable ”

We had a wonderful 5 days in Koh Lipe. The resort is located right on the beach and the beach huts were very comfortable. I loved the fact that there were 2 hammocks on our porch to chill and read in. We found the huts to be quite breezy and therefore did just fine with the ceiling fan. The food was delicious and there was a variety of drinks as well. We will definitely consider returning to Castaway again in the future. The massages were also great!

The best holidays ever!!!”

The Castaway is the perfect resort if you wanna really enjoy your holidays... the personal are friendly and always they try to help you in everything.... you can chill out in the restaurant and take a delicious food and drink in the happy hour time... you can practice diving, snorkelling, yoga... and the most spectacular is in front to the most beautiful beach in Koh Lipe... only I have one word for all of them is Thank you... you make my holidays and you make me felt in family...

Adventurous! Felt like i was on Giligan's Island!”

I love the design of the bungalows and anyone should spend the little extra to get the sea view ones. I love the terrace with the 2 hammocks and the little stairs that goes upstairs. I wasnt sure i could stay in a place without air conditioning and hot water but i must say, its great fun! The food is Castaway was also great. Breakfast comes with 4 choices and was yummy! Castaway Dive offers all sorts of sea entertainment and we spent a day kayaking in the crystal clear waters. Overall, i love Castaway and Koh Lipe! Thank you Agoda!

great experience staying at a beachfront room”

all the staffs are great , helpful and friendly. the place is clean they come for housekeeping daily. room is good size and best view in the morning on a sunrise beach. next to a beach bar but we didn't mind. we had light music all day long and wasn't that noisy even though our room was the first one right next to the bar. food menu is delicious and they have the kayak , paddleboard for rent. everything will be put to the room. you do not need to bring any money out . they have a library cocktails are buy one free one in the day . love this place . it's my 4th time back to lipe it's been a great experience here at castaway!

Adventerously Relaxing”

My stay at the Castaway Resort is memorable. The villa-styled hotel is unique, the bathroom on the ground floor and the bedroom on the upper floor. Walking along the stretch of the beach, we come to realise that this hotel has got the best room price in comparison to the bar/restaurant it has to offer. It was a low season on my visit to Koh Lipe, many shops are closed and the beach being a little isolated from the main street, the bar in your hotel is all you had and by far, the bar is quite a spot to be at in the night. The only downside is that there are mosquitoes almost everywhere. To top that off, there is no air-conditioning facility provided by Castaway Resort. At the end of the day, my stay was quite interesting.

Good resort but the Island looks more like a dumping place!”

Castaway is a great place to stay, the Staff is helpful and the food is really good. The place on the beach is really nice if you can find your way between all the long-tail boats but that is belong the entire sunrise beach. The only thing that Castaway should do is clean the entrance before entering the property. From the small road were you will arrive it looks more on a dumping place than on a tropical Island. The mess it terrible and it smells occasionally as a open drain but that fits perfectly in the rest off the Island. Overall about Koh Lipe Island we are disappointed about what we expected and our experience. The Island is full off garbage and they developing and building like crazy. We think they should make a stop about this and better put some afford on cleaning on the Island. If you are looking for a place on Koh Lipe I should recommend Castaway resort but we are never going back to this Island.......

Great service”

I had a really good stay. The staff were accommodating of the fact I needed to check-in and out a day later due to the difficulty in getting to Ko Lipe from Langkawi with it being low season. The inclusive breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Having the choice of 4 set breakfasts was good, even though I had pancakes every day. The service in the restaurant area was great...food arrived quickly and empty plates were cleared away quickly. You can even borrow mozzy spray from reception. The communal restaurant area was a good place to relax day or evening. I don't really rate Sunrise beach- it's narrow and the longboats are moored along it, at least they were during my stay, but that would have been an issue if I stayed at any of the bungalow resorts on the beach. The two-story bungalow was well maintained and comfortable. The dive shop next door was very professional and all of the staff both in the dive shop, in the restaurant, and at reception were really friendly and helpful.

Beautiful property in a beautiful location”

Castaway is a beautiful place to stay: the rooms are charming, built and decorated with a lot of taste. The restaurant serves very varied and quality food. Be careful though: a part of it is just next to a beach bar that can put loud music at night, so make sure your room is on the other side. Also, there is no aircon, and it can get really really warm in Koh Lipe - we had a really hard time sleeping the 2 night. 1 fan is clearly not enough.

Relaxing place in a jungle”

Castaway is a very chilled place, with beautiful bungalows in a big garden just next to the sea. They have amazing food and cocktails that you can sip looking at the beach. We walked to other beaches but the Sunrise Beach was our fave. Rooms are a little bit dark but staying there really gives you a feeling of being in a jungle in the wild. No hot water, no ac, which normally I don't mind but after a rainy day it would be nice to have a warm shower. Fan was enough, no need for ac. Friendly staff, helpful too. A welcome drink of lemongrass water was a nice little touch. Amazing atmosphere of the hotel, next to the beautiful beach with white sand. Couldn't ask for more.

Best Place to Stay in Koh Lipe!”

Brilliant! We cannot fault anything about Castaway Resort. We stayed in the Big Breezy Beach Front bungalow which was just metres from the beach and the clearest water I have ever seen in Thailand. We would definitely recommend their "Romantic Dinner for Two" if you're looking to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or just treat that someone special to a wonderful evening. The attention to detail was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. There is something for everyone at Castaway, young and old. There's such a relaxing vibe about the place that it's impossible not to sink into island life from the moment you arrive.

Amazing time at Castaway ”

Beautiful bungalows with amazing views to sunrise beach. Nice place to hang out. Good island feel. Good food. Nice and friendly staff. Overall an fantastic resort. No hot shower though. But you don't need it because it's every day very hot. Also at night warm temperatures. The resort ist very environment friendly. I will definitely cone back. Great diving with Castaway inhouse diving shop (very professional) and great yoga as well.

Perfect place on Koh Lipe to relax ”

Castaway is the perfect place on Koh Lipe to relax and enjoy the beautiful beach. Castaway has its own dive school which is also perfect with very friendly staff and good equipment. Definitely a highly recommended place!

Gin Slings and Garlic Shrimp = perfection!”

We had a fabulous stay at Castaway Resort. The staff were amazing, particularly the waiters at the restaurant and the Dive Instructors. The rooms were comfortable and well furnished. The food served at the restaurant was the best we found on the island, so we didn't venture too far from Castaway! The happy hour and drinks menu are also excellent. The only negative we experienced was having a massage. The masseur didn't follow the usual process for a Thai massage and it was disappointing - it felt rushed and wasn't a pleasant experience. My two friends both had oil massages and also felt they were below par. Overall, however, we had a fantastic stay - thank you, Castaway!

Very nice stay in Koh Lipe”

We arrived in Koh Lipe and a staff member was waiting for us at the pier to transfer us to the hotel even we did not request it which is valuable. Then we arrived at the hotel and the check in was fast with very welcoming staff. The hotel location is just perfect for a chill and the diving lover will be please since they have a diving school with international staff. The restaurant has a great view on the clear blue sea and the food is very delicious. The beach was clean so it was a real pleasure to chill there. The bungalow was up to standards and no complaint could be raised. The shower only provide cold water but you are in Thailand and personally I prefer take a cold shower after having sun bath. Overall very good experience and will go back there. Maybe one small thing to adjust, the access to the bungalows sometimes in tiny due to lot of bush around the path. If you can make it a bit clearer it would be appreciable. This remains a detail. Good job guys.

Great Getaway”

Great location in Koh Lipe! The rooms are great, beds are comfy and view is incredible. The food at the resort restaurant is fantastic and the price reasonable compared to other locations on the island. Also don't forget to book a trip with Castaway divers! They were so friendly and knowledgeable it was a great experience.
