Great city with friendly people. Historical and nature sightseeing. Near to other tourist attractions in the region.
Albany was one of the best parts of our trip. Though the drive down took 7 hours, Albany provided many attractions and it was well worth the drive down! Two peoples' bay was the best, we even spotted dolphins!
Albany is a beautiful city geographically with an attention to friendliness within the shopping precinct.
A place with a great historical feel. Peaceful and quiet place. The Wind Farm and the Gap are certainly a Must Go place when in Albany!!
Albany is a very easy city to get arround, wather on foot or by car,. There is plenty of parking if you are driving.
It has good shopping facilities. There is plenty to see and do all around the Albany area. It is suitable for all types of traveller, - families with young or older children, or solo travellers, I am sure there would be good conference facilities for business travellers, although I did not have a need for such facilities myself. The newly renovated ANZAC Light Horse memorial is definately worth the visit. The coastal views form some of the look out areas are breathtaking.
So much too see within very short distances a car is a must have. Large veriety of food options from Fast food take aways to fine dinning restaurants and numerous cafe and good quality coffee shops.
A great old town so relaxing to just stroll around. Many great beaches, sightseeing spots here, great food as well!
So much to see and do. The weather is great. Look out for 2014 with the Anzac centenary. History is everywhere.
Come in the summer for the beaches and explore the surrounding areas. Winter for whale watching and whale cruises.
This area is rather isolated but a key place to visit is along the Albany Highway - Plantagenet Vineyards. This is a very good wine cellar.
Although it has an exceptionally good mountain bike trail, the town is remarkably unfriendly for cycling.
Albany has many natural attractions to see. I love fishing and this place is one of my favourite places of all time.
I have been coming to Albany for 25 years now and never get tired of it.
Albany has many beautiful beaches, especially Frenchmans Bay with its pure white sand - the best for building sandcastles.
You can go on bush walks, or walk the Porongorups, go fishing, or snorkelling in nearby Greens Pool a short drive towards Denmark. There are interesting historic buildings and the harbour to walk along. During whale season, you can see the whales frolic off the coast but near enough to see them without having to use binoculars. All in all, a lovely place to spend some quality time either with the family or in a group, or just the two of you. Make sure you go in the summer season as it can get quite cold.
It is a peaceful place with many beautiful beaches and nature reserves, such as Middleton Beach which is very near the town centre.
A bit further away will be the Two Peoples Beach and the Nature Reserve which we spotted a wild kangaroo just 50 m away, starring at us! One should not missed The Gap and The Blowholes as well. There are many more places to visit, so one day stay is definitely not enough!
Albany is a great place to use as a base for sightseeing and daytime adventuring / travelling in the surrounding areas.
Best place to see is the Gap around 1 hour before sundown until sunset
Well Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia. Lots of history and lots of old building and great landmark, like blowhole, nature bridge and Mt Clarence.
Just love it
Went to the Boat shed market which operates only on Sundays from 10 am to 1 or 2 pm. They sell very good and fresh seafood--fresh oysters and others.
Enjoy the food with a good view of the sea.
The biggest town we stopover for our trip down South of WA. Dont forget to take the trail on top of the hills with windmill as backdrop.
Mt Romance, Stonehenge, war memorial, emu point cafe, whale world, all good places to visit, visit Mt romance first as you may need to book some of its pleasures a few days prior, gong treatment is amazing
