Best hotels & accommodations in Andong-si

Staying here was a truly unique experience. You get to stay in a historic building at a stunning location. I really enjoyed the special atmosphere of the place, both at night and then in the morning. On top of that, everything is well run with clean and comfortable rooms and an amazing breakfast. Thank you again for the great stay - too bad that I could only stay for o...

This was the best accommodation deal encountered while I have spent my time in Korea. The price is very friendly to a hotel with this level of service. And it is placed at the main "promenade" center in Andong, a few minutes walk from the Train Station, Tourist Information, main local bus departure point to the attractions. Maybe the availability of a breakfast service...

Arrived in Andong around 12nn at bus terminal. We found our way to Andong train terminal and the hotel was just a short distance away (about 5 mins walk) . Although check in time was at 3, we were thankful to have our room early for a quick wash up. A toiletry pack was given to us and we were pleasantly surprised that there were many amenities included in the pack (s...

Location and staff” The location of accommodation is very far from Andong center, we (my girl friend and I) needed to ask the owner to pick us up from Andong train station after we visited Hahoe Folk Village with helping of Hahoe staffs to contact the accommodation owner in Korean. It took us about 1.5 hr from the train station to the accommodation by car. The owner do...

Convenient hostel. Market, foods and drink area are nearby, and the bus stops to all around Andong are also close to the hostel. The room we stayed were a little bit small but well equipped, there were kitchen sink, electronic oven and laundry machine. The staff was very friendly and kindness. Good accommodation for budget travelers.

I think that was the Best hostel i have ever been in. Was very clean, new, cosy, bathroom with two cabins. There was even a special place to listen vinyl music in the café. Location is close to the bus terminal, but far from the center of andong, for me this Location was a plus.

This hotel is close to a tourist information centre which is very useful if it is your first time to korea. Furthermore, it is pretty close to the bus stop that brings you to the main attractions in Andong. It is a quite town but the hotel is located near shopping areas and food market, which enable you to enjoy jjimdak(andong chicken). However, the room is quite small...

Although this old house is far away from downtown(about 40min. from bus terminal and 50min. from train station),the host Mr. Lee prepare his home completely and let us feel like becoming a part of this old, friendly house. If you want to experience the traditional lifestyle of Korea, I'll definitely recommend this old house.

We loved this guesthouse.. The room was cosy and clean. The bed was very comfy! The garden area is really nice and there are cute dogs too! The staff were so helpful and kind. We were able to leave our bags too. The breakfast was delicious and delivered right on time! It was close to the train station and a short bus ride away from the bus terminal. Wold recommend stay...

This motel is only few blocks away from Andong railway station. Within few minutes walking distance there is a street full of restaurants, where we have had one of the best meal during our trip in Korea. The room design looks a bit old but very clean. The bed is comfortable, just that the fridge is very noisy at night. Staff is very helpful, even though the commu...

we didn't really know what was available in andong...we just wanted a cool place to stay while we visited the mask festival. this guesthouse popped up and the price seemed right so we reserved for 3 nights. we were stunned that it was a good 30-40 minutes ride outside of town. if we had a car, this would be a much better place to stay. the advantage is that it is right...

It was a memorable time with my friend in this house. Although the location is pretty far away from the town, they came to the bus station where we got off for picking up us. We really appreciated about this. The room was very cozy, and the floor was very warm for cold. Of course, it was not perfectly comfortable because the toilet was apart from the room, but I just ...

Difficult to locate with little interaction with the owners. No place within walking distance to purchase a meal. Shared bathroom. Some communication through phoned translation service.Would not recommend to others over priced at $80 per night. Owners did transport us to bus terminal on departure.

Staff had limited english but were helpful. I would say this was a love hotel but was quiet and in a quiet area. But a good walk from the downtown area. However, more restaurants and cafés than downtown. Easy bus or taxi ride to the bus terminal to catch the bus to Hahoe Village, which is very nice. But no WiFi and no breakfast, and a bit expensive for what you get in ...

I visited Andong to check out the annual mask dance festival (highly recommended) and stayed for one night at the Andong Park Hotel. The location is great - very close to the train station, and easy to spot. I was on my own, but booked a family ondol room, as it was the only one left, and was quite impressed. Lots of space, clean and comfortable bedding (on the floor -...

We had never been to Andong before and I chose this hotel based on past reviews which I can verify. The rooms were spacious and had all the amenities including a hot water dispenser computer big screen tv refrigerator and a large bathroom. The major negatives were a hard bed and poor hallway lighting. But it was ideally located a block from the train station and bus st...

This hotel is an economical clean, decent choice for an Andong weekend. It is located near Andong market and chicken alley (a must see for the food!) and the roads to all of Andongs sites are easily found. Good parking, very nice staff that is caring and helpful with maps and such. Great value!

it was one of the worse hotel i ever ended up in. win hotel is a love motel for those ppl who need a room for a couple of hour. the worst thing is the staff, they don't speak a word of english and had no idea what agoda.com is. so they try to charge us again for the room even though agoda charge from my credit card already. we arrived the hotel tiredly at 9pm, and stil...

The Guesthouse is located right in the middle of the Hahoe Folk Village. The architecture is traditional and simple, the ondol rooms were a bit small but had an A/C and TV in it. The mats were a bit too thin (or maybe we Westeners were not used to them yet). The showers and bathrooms were across the courtyard. The owners were a young family who helped us with everyth...

Great value. Room was very well equipped. Computer, nice assortment of toiletries, big bath tub with shower, AC, refrigerator, charging station that included type c along with iphone and typical Android. You're given a personal toiletries package upon check-in. Good location close to restaurants, bars, coffee shops etc. Robes for two. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

It is a beautiful house and fairly clean. No shower though. You have to call the owner to warm up water to shower. To go to the shower, you have to go to the house next door, which is a main house and we had to call the owner 5 minutes before. After my husband shower, when my son went, there was no hot water and he had to take a cold shower. The traditional mattre...

Traveler impressions of Andong-si
Try to go during the mask festival. It is great. Otherwise, consider skipping this city. Our opinion is that it is much over related.
Adong-si is a great place to visit in South Korea. There is so much history and culture to see in and around the city.
Andong-si is a beautiful town which have a number of interesting local attractions. With only 1 night in Andong-si, we could only visit Hahoe Village and Bongjeongsa Temple.
Not much to do or see in Andong, but near the Hahoe Cultural Village which is very worthwhile to visit.

More about Andong-si
Andong prides itself on maintaining aspects of traditional culture throughout the past 2,000 years. There are more than 280 cultural assets to be found in and around the city. A great place to experience this culture is in the Hahoe Folk Village – a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you can experience a traditional Korean mask dance, visit the tree inhabited by the Samshin goddess, and capture the village in its entirety from Byongdae Cliff. Another fascinating site is Bongjeongam Temple, the city’s largest temple and the site of the oldest wooden building in Korea. There are also a couple of historical sites related to Korean Confucianism. There are plenty of dishes to savor here such as jjimdak and grilled salted mackerel, and accommodation is varied between traditional houses, temple stays, budget options, and luxury hotels.
Be sure to check out the interactive map of Andong for information on hotel locations, attractions, and must-see destinations.
