Best hotels & accommodations in Bago

I stayed at Han Thar Gardens with my wife and infant son in August 2015. It was low season, so we were automatically upgraded to a deluxe room. The hotel's restaurant and lounge areas are spacious, relaxing, and comfortable - perfect for a day of reading and relaxing with a drink while watching the monsoon rains. The pool is small but inviting, good for a dip but not f...

One day wasn't enough. I was recommended to do a day trip to bago but I decided to book a hotel for one night stay. It was such a relaxing place that one day trip was very short. I was planning to explore around the town but end up at the hotel half of the day due to heavy rain but during my trip to Myanmar , that was the most relaxing day. The hotel is far enough from...

The wetlands are really calm and beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Apart from the boat tour there's not much to do, so if you want to get out of the crazy Yangon traffic, this is the place to be: No TV, no free Wifi - bring a good book or board games. Food is good, plentiful, and service is fast. Rooms are basic; the boat bungalows are overpriced in my opinion, though ...

We were welcomed at 4am and they gave us a room without charging us. Little room but comfy with good AC. Very good shower. Free hot/cold water to drink. Best breakfast in Myanmar so far (3 weeks). Location OK as no real center in Bago, not far from bus station. Cheap beer ans complimentary peanuts. Everyone very nice. Watchout: there's a guy ( red face with lots...

the hotel was misleading in its lication about 10 k from town but could not help us get transport to town. breakfast invluded 1 cup of coffe and rice noodles or a cold sandwich of ubcooked vegetables. They did arrange a guide but very expensive anf did not speak English. I could go on and on just do not stay here. it is as if they have nevet seen or beem to a hotel. ...

Jade garden was acceptable for a one night stay. It is located on a quiet side street. Office staff had limited English and was able to book our onward travel arrangements. Walls need to be cleaned or repainted. WiFi and hot water were good. Probably overpriced for what we got. Breakfast was minimal and we were given what they considered an American breakfast. Not to m...

It's a very nice hotel and the staff is very kind and helpful. The breakfast was amazing, super tasty. The only negative note is the position, it's far around 7 km from the city. P.s. you will find ATM just in the city and the tuk tuk costs about 200 kyat to go to the city. We found people asking even 5000 kyat or more, just look for the next one. :)

Traveler impressions of Bago
A rather dirty and chaotic city- most of the sights can be seen in a day- so better as a day trip from Yangon rather than staying over as I did.
