Batangas is a seaport. There's a large stretch of beach but all occupied by harbours, domestic or overpriced hotels.
Nice to travel to this city because we have an improved highway that we can easily access to any place we want to visit.
It's a quick escape from the city, although the more urbanized areas are already starting to have the usual problems like traffic.
Commuting by bus is easy, and the people are usually willing to help with directions.
Well known beaches and resorts, very accessible from manila, nice greenery as well and fantastic for sightseeing, rich in culture and historical places
Batangas is a beautiful and ideal place to visit both by fellow Filipino and foreign friends. Aside from its rich history and culture, we can be proud of its shorelines and beautiful hotels where we can take a break and enjoy staying.
It has golf courses, amusement parks, historical churches, and many native delicacies that guests can try. I definitely would recommend this place to my family and friends.
if you are looking for a place near Manila but feels like you have travelled so far to experience relaxation, Batangas is the place to go to.
the province boasts of good coffee (they call it barako - like barak obama...., great beaches, great sights, lakes historical places like taal and very friendly people
BATANGAS CITY IS A VERY CLEAN CITY. YOU CAN HARDLY FIND TRASH AROUND THE CITY PROPER. THE PEOPLE ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND ACCOMMODATING.
AN AMAZING FACT IS THE TRAVEL FROM MANILA TO THE CITY VIA SOUTH LUZON EXPRESSWAY THEN THE STAR TOLLWAY, WHICH ONLY TAKE YOU LESS THAN AN HOUR AND YOU ARE IN BATANGAS CITY ALREADY! GREAT!
This area is good for people fond of diving and or snorkeling, therefore forget it if you are not into one of these two activities.
People are nice. The food is good, well presented and very cheap (for 5 euros, you get a fine dish in a charming restaurant on the beach).
It's vast area with lots of farm and nice people. Many beaches and resorts within few hours drive from Manila.
Great place for family bonding and I can say they really have a good coffee...
Historical, close to Manila only 2 1/5 hrs. The beach is near by. Also enjoy sightseeing to Tagaytay and nearby Taal Volcano.
Thks city has a lot of things to offer so make sure you have everything you need in case you decide to try out different things while staying in the area.
you can visit The Farm, Pico Sands hotel and Acuatico Beach Resort. Batangas have a lot of interesting places to visit, for nature lover, adventure seekers and even those interested with history and religion.
Batangas is a quick fix to every beach cravings! The distance is superb for a weekend getaway. The beaches in Laiya are the best.
Higly recommend acuatico, acuaverde and palm beach. Reservation is a must tho, coz most probably weekends are always jampacked.
A lot of resorts located here but they are not as good as the other white beaches in the Philippines.
It can become very difficult to book rooms in Batangas during summer because of companies that hold their annual outings.
Make sure to book in advance.
The months I placed above are the months when most towns/cities have fiestas. You do not need to know anyone there during fiestas.
Almost every house has food to share for visitors!
It is a very modern city yet the Filipino culture still strong with the local people living around it.
It is basically like Manila in some ways, its got everything you need like supermarkets, pharmacies malls with movie houses lots of hotel resorts, theme parks one of them is the Taal volcano which is a crater lake within a lake, extremely magnificent place to be.
Plan ahead especially your route and transportation. Best to bring your own car or rent one. No cabs to rent so be ready to take public transport which can be quite inconvenient if you have huge luggage or sports gear.
The local government should take care of the beaches more as obviously there is dynamite fishing going on because of the dead corals everywhere.
And there are houses built right on the beach. One can only imagine where their wastes go.
Beautiful beaches very good for fishing, diving, snorkling or just watch the sunset along the beach.
Lipa City is a quiet and nice place, a good place near Manila City for relaxation, golf and beaches. there are already shopping center in the city the people are friendly and accommodating also the policemen were very helpful when you lost your way.
They say it's the 3rd among the highest elevated area in Luzon (1st is Baguio; 2nd is Tagaytay) thats why the climate is cooler.
Good civet cat coffee aside from Batangas Barako blend. Very tasty bulalo and clear water along San Juan beaches.
People are very friendly, helpful and accommodating to travelers. A resident even offered her personal cellphone for use to contact our driver.
When you are at Batangas, try to visit their beaches because its really relaxing to stay.. And you don't need to travel so far to have a scuba diving or snorkeling and the likes.
. Batangas is known for their "balisong" (or knife that can be folded)and you can always hear from their languages the term "ala eh" or "ga" in their filipino (tagalog dialect)
very near in Manila and has a wide range of resorts you can choose if you want to spend a day or two in the beach
See section on SM mall. If you get this far, you will be in the old city centre trying to work out which way to go.
It is actually pretty easy, the GPS seemed to follow the one way system pretty well. Nice old town where the traffic gets routed along the river near the bridge to get to SM mall. Apart from that not much to recommend it
Taal was a very nice heritage town with many sites of interest to see as well as historical landmarks.
I like the people, the food, and the beaches and scenery of Batangas. Not to mention its not so far distance from Metro Manila.
If I can I wish to be anywhere in Batangas particularly near the beaches every weekend for fresh air and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
I am a Batanguena and i am proud of my heritage and province. Come and visit Batangas and experience the hospitality of the people.
