Best hotels & accommodations in Beijing

Staff were very helpful in setting up the use of my own laptop instead of using the more expensive computer provided by the hotel. I was a little undecided about the question of being 58 hotel or not. Most things are excellent, but location is not as good as The Beijing Hotel, Raffles and Grand Hotel etc. on Chang'an Avenue at the other end of Wangfujing Street. Breakf...

Superb 5-star standard, alot of staff on the ground and always looking out to see what you need. They are also innovative to help use a taxi booking app for your needs instead of letting you stand at the lobby for the elusive passing by taxis like most hotels do. Room is large, bed very comfortable and housekeeper always available; just flick your switch and they wil...

upon arriving in Beijing, we were looking forward to our 5 star hotel, although we did have some reservations since the last 5 star hotel we stayed at in Hong Kong was very small (although quite nice). we caught a taxi from the Beijing international airport to the hotel, it costs around $100RMB including a highway tariff of $10RMB and takes around 30-40 mins when we a...

We have been choosing a hotel in Beijing for more than 2 days (fortunately, my wife was doing most of that job) and, as result, we finally chose the Novotel Xian Qiao Hotel Beijing and now we may definitely state that we made a right choice. Most of the Beijing sites of interest are either in the walking distance (the Tiananmen square, the Forbidden city, the Temple of...

unfortunately i spend only one night at the hotel but be sure i will pick this hotel also in my next visit. usually i'm staying at china world hotel in beijing and it cost me almost triple and here you are in the center of the city in very big apartment will all the facility include even washing machine. the staffs are very polite and helpful.

The hotel is right at Wangfujing Street and is only a couple minutes walk to the pedestrian-only section. A great location for food and shopping. Subway station is within walking distance, but I would advise taking a taxi to get there if you have luggage since it is several minutes of walk from the subway station. The hotel enforces the non-smoking rule pretty well. ...

My recent 3-night stay at Sun World Hotel in Beijing was wonderful. Could not have been better. The hotel is deluxe for such a reasonable price. The staff are helpful and try to use some English and will go out of their way to resolve any questions. The location is excellent, just around the corner from famous Wangfujing shopping street, which is always so lively, day ...

I got room 404 so it faced the street which was good. It was Bamboo Comfort Room so a step up from the standard room. A good place to rest up if you have spent time out in rural China which I did. This place is excellent as it is near subway to airport and near to Lama Temple area. It is also next to large shopping center Raffles that has a supermarket that sells weste...

the hotel is really nice. it is new, and well kept. the breakfast is great, can not be much better. the vip floor does worth the extra money you pay for it. mini bar in the room is very very expensive, like most hotels in beijing, and way more expensive, then most countries in the world. location is great, can not be much better then that. it is right near the ol...

Stayed for one night as resting point after arriving to Beijing. Hotel is modern. Room was big and heating was fine. Price for the stay was definitely worth it for a resting point, I would not stay there to stay. Check-in/Check-out was straight forward. The location was walking distance to places to eat, but definitely not catered for tourism in central Beijing and bet...

Enjoy the ideal vantage point from this five-star Beijing hotel, located in the heart of the city. Situated on Wangfujing, within walking distance of The Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, Grand Hyatt Beijing is part of Oriental Plaza – one of China’s largest commercial complexes – with direct access to the adjacent shopping mall. Wangfujing Street, located next to t...

All the employees at the front desk speak English and know their jobs well. They are also generally helpful. My only beef is that they rarely smile and all look so busy and stressed with work which is in contrast to employees of other hotels in other Asian countries and even in other parts of China. I’ve travelled to a lot of other Chinese cities and the general aura o...

The above review is meant for the Bishop Lei International Hotel at Hong Kong which would not have the same review as below which I saw is for the Regent Hotel in Beijing. Since I booked both Hotel through Agoda, as you can see that I am very happy with the Regent Hotel, but not too satified with the Bishop Lei. Even though the rate is comparatively low, the facility...

The Jianguo Qianmen Hotel is a great place to stay in Beijing. Try to get a room rate price that includes breakfast, which could well be the best value meal of the day. Rather than eat at the over-priced restaurant, try the small street corner restaurant that is some 5oo metres from the hotel on the same side of the road - turn left as you exit the foyer. Spend the mon...

It's smart to stay close to the airport if you need to catch early flights. We arrived in Beijing very late that night because the flight was delayed, and we need to take another one in the other morning to US. Thanks for the location of Hilton Beijing Capital Airport Hotel, saving us lots of time and avoiding traffic. The best thing about this hotel is the location, e...

Stayed with Hilton Wangfujing for 2 nights and found that this hotel is one of the best I have stayed in... The price is considered at the higher end, but there is no regret for it... Location is great, just beside Wangfujing Walking Street and also shopping malls around it. Definitely not an issue to shop and dine if you stay in this hotel. Within walking distance (ap...

The location is excellent, is only 5 minutes walk to the MRT, surrounded by many great eating places within minutes walk, such as famous Beijing Roast Duck, "Quanjude", Stream boat restaurant, "Hai Di Lao", "Dong Lai Shun" etc. and many other small shops. If you want to eat western food, there is a 24 hours Mcdonald outlet just opposite the hotel, and a Pizza outlet. B...

It was really great experience to stay at the Conrad Beijing. Especially, I very much like the interior design of the room and also of the Breakfast restaurant. The location of the hotel was excellent as it situated closely to Sanritun area where you can easily find nice bars or restaurants.

We booked a superior room, and it was a great surprise! Room was excellently clean and spacious enough for us both, and amenities are complete! Hotel management really give excellent service with great attention to details. There was just no central heater but hotel readily provides extra blankets if requested, clearly it was not an issue for us. The different kind...

This is my third time staying at the Ming Courtyard. They are my go-to hotel in Beijing. I always meet great people, and have a great time. The location is super convenient, between Dongzhimen Station (bus and line 2) and Beixinqiao (line 5), with lots of good food. The hutong had been paved, so now it feels a lot cleaner, and a lot of new businesses are working their ...

It was much better than I expected it to be. I have traveled to Beijing several times before. Some hotels in Beijing are really horrible. this hotel was very clean and people were very nice. Also, taxi drivers knew where this hotel was right away. Also right next to Dongdan station, so that was nice. If I were to visit Beijing again I will probably use this hotel again...

Stayed with Raffles Beijing Hotel for 2 nights and found that this hotel is one of the best I have stayed in... The price is considered at the reasonable, but there is no regret for it... Location is great, just beside Wangfujing Walking Street and also shopping malls around it. Definitely not an issue to shop and dine if you stay in this hotel. Within walking distance...

The location is quite good (although still a bit of a walk from the metro and not that easy to find if you're quite new to China. The room was quite good and also included a towel and some other toiletries, that's great. The building in itself is a nice, historical building of typical Beijing architecture. The toilet and shower room could have benefited from being reno...

My favourite hotel in Beijing in recent years. Room is spacious and cozy. Location is quite central. However, it is not so convenient as it is close to many places but not close enough for walking, and it is not far enough that one will feel comfortable to take taxi to all the time. Bike is ideal. Country kitchen is great.

This hotel is the best designed hotel I’ve been to. Not only aesthetically but also ergonomically. Their packaging for bathroom amenities was a very pleasant surprise. We loved the quirkiness they inject into their designing. The breakfast is also something to look forward to. ( Opt for the east menu) The staffs were very responsive and friendly. Yes, pricing is on...

Trendy, modern CBD hotel just recently opened. I was a little nervous because there were so few reviews so far but I need not have worried. Reception staff were professional and courteous and check in smooth. My room was awesome. Lots of little touches made it special. Fantastic comfy bed, flat screen TV, fruit bowl, amazing view over the CBD. Bathroom was lovely and I...

The Novotel Peace Beijing Hotel was an integral part of one of my most enjoyable vacations in China. The location facilitates shopping for anything on your downtime. This way you can focus on sightseeing and the many cultural experiences that Beijing has to offer. The easy access to the subway, meant I didn't spend a lot of money getting around the city. The hotel'...

Great 5 star hotel in Chaoyang. It's about a 7 minute walk to the subway line. Plenty of restaurants and food within walking distance. The swimming pool and gym are very nice. The rooms are nicely appointed. My only complaint is that the AC doesn't work in the winter. I've noticed this throughout other Beijing hotels.

I was looking for a hotel in Beijing that is close to the airport and city center. Hilton Beijing Hotel fits these criteria. The hotel offers international standard, the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel gym is very functional with a good choice of working out equipments. I will return to Hilton Beijing Hotel for my next trip.

Very nice Hostel, and very close the subway stations of Ping anli and Xinjekou. The atmosphere is very friendly and the staff treated me like a real family! I Be together at the main room to drink and laugh will be the best memory of Beijing. I have found many friends there!

This is my third time staying at the Ming Courtyard. They are my go-to hotel in Beijing. I always meet great people, and have a great time. If you are looking for a clean cheap quiet place to sleep then look no further. However, if you want some sort of social activity, this is definitely not the place. There's no longer any common area nor dining hall. So you're kinda stuck in your rooms. Front desk staff were terribly unhelpful and ignorant so don't expect any assistance from them for any matter.

The hotel is located in an alley in a traditional Hutong area (Xinxi Hutong) but is not hard to find. We stayed in a private room for 3 nights and 1 night in a dorm. Both rooms are clean and orderly. There are lots of international tourists around so we did not feel isolated. The staff speaks English well and is very friendly. Going around the city is very convenient a...

My boyfriend and I (mid 20's) had a great time here. I did a ton of research in picking a place to stay in Beijing, and it certainly paid off. We were in one of the rooms off of the lobby, but we were there in November so there weren't too many other travelers for it to be loud like some other reviews report - we brought ear plugs just in case, but didn't need them. ...

Booked and paid for a room with a queen bed because I am rather tall and sleep diagonally, got one with two single beds instead. Nice in retrospect because i had two of the rather thin blankets. 11°C in the room, no heating, warm water only at certain times (evening=yes, morning=no). Checkout time 12:00, people knocking on my door yelling it is time to check out at 11:...

we would have stayed here longer if we could, but there weren't any vacancies. this lovely gem is in to a busy hutong neighborhood, but isn't noisy. great street food and a chance to experience the hustle of hutong life just around the corner. the courtyard is a wonderful place for the breakfast you can order the night before and have ready for you at an appoint...

The location of the hotel was great. I had a double en suite which very basic but good to use a base while visiting Beijing. They couldn't provide coffee when asked but you can get a cold drink at least. My room was in the little courtyard but the hostel doesn't allow noise in the communal courtyard after 10pm so you get no noise so that was good. Food wise i didn't tr...

P Loft is a standard backpacker with a lot of room options - you definitely can pay more for a single room, but the 6 bed dorm is best value for money at 60yuan a night, a basic bunk with good wifi. Location is next to Yonghegong Lama temple, many restaurants in the area and convenient to the subway and most central lines. The hostel is a renovated factory, but it is ...

I was travelling with a friend who needed to spend as little as possible on accommodation. She was quite happy here, but for me, and at my age - I'm no youngster- it was not suitable. The staff were great and we got what we paid for so this review is perhaps a little unfair on the hostel. The location was good-near a subway- but tucked away so that even the taxi driver...

I stayed 5 nights in the 8 beds room to go sightseeing in Beijing. I can speak Chinese a little. The hotel was very clean, looked new, and smelled good, so pretty and Chinese like. The bed was soft enough, and the common space was very comfortable, there is also cafe corner, and there is a roof deck. Bathroom is common, but there are two toilets each for girls and boys...

I recently stayed at the Feel Inn. The location was amazing. As a first time visitor to Beijing, I wanted someplace close to the main "attractions" and since I was going to be gone most of the time, I wanted someplace just to "hang my hat." The Feel Inn provided these requirements and then some. After a long day sightseeing, it was great to get "home," take a hot s...

Lao Zhang and his family are wonderful. To reach the house from Beijing center takes around 3h but their hospitality makes it worthy. I took bus nr 919 from Beijing until Yanqing and he came to pick me up by car. I was really well received and Mr. Zhang 's wife cooks amazing food. His mother even took me to visit Yongning town and bought me a hat to protect me from the...

Pros: 15 min walk from Qianmen station on line 2, connects very important places in central part of Beijing. The other subway (zhushikou) on their site is on line 7 that is not much used and not so well connected. good and reasonably priced shopping, eating areas on the same street reasonably clean (I stayed in a double bedded room), toilet was clean too, though sligh...

If you want to start your hike of The Great Wall at Gubeikou I 100% recommend this place. It was very convenient and walking distance to the wall. The host spoke perfect English and was very helpful the entire time. The have a lot of cats which is awesome unless you're allergic. I stayed in a dorm room but had the entire room to myself. Great facilities and amenities t...

receptionist was warm-recieving, chamber maid was very responsive towards all my requests. hotel is new, room condition is considered good based on a 3 star category rating. just opposite the street , there’s 田先生 food outlet that really suit my taste. theres also a big supermarket

I totally loved my stay here...the overall look is by far the best i have stayed at in a hostel..... The pictures posted are the same..... Location is really excellent....walking distance to the subway, wangfuging, and a couple of stations away from the railway station, tourist spots, etc., On my next visit yo Beijing im looking forward to stay here

Great from start to end. From the moment we made our booking, we received an email giving us directions to their place, as well as useful information about the things to do around Beijing. Really nice hostel! Looks really simple from the outside, but such a pretty place with a homey feel the moment you step inside. We booked the double room, and it was a very cozy and ...

This hostel is a perfect choice for backpackers who want to fully enjoy their stay in Beijing. It is very conveniently located at 5 minutes walking distance from Nanluoguxiang metro station along the homonymous street which is one of the most beautiful alleys in the city and a very busy street food spot at night. The staff is kind and helpful, and speaks good English. ...

PROS: -Bidets with heated toilet seats! -They provide slippers and enforce use of shoe lockers (no outside shoes in the living areas) -The beds are comfortable and have useful locked cabinets for storage. Curtains add privacy. -Furniture seems clean and new -Resident cat in the bookshop to play with CONS: -The smell of urine is quite strong at the toilet sink, impos...

This hostel was the worst hostel I've ever staid in my life. I strongly recommend another hostel if u don't want to suffer Bed-bug bites. I've stayed here for 3days there was no one who could speak english. And also I saw some bugs on my bed, but I didn't care about it. I thought it was not harmful insect. But on the last night I woke up because of the itchiness and ...

This was a very comfortable and almost secure hotel, the one failing is the lack of multilingual staff at reception, this would have been a major problem for anyone not fluent in Chinese,I was lucky that there was one male member of staff who could partly understand English, but he was not always present when I needed information. The room is part cleaned, bed made, tow...

Pros: Reasonably priced and in a great area of old Beijing: lots of character and close to several bus routes. The hostel itself is small and built into a hutong so instead of windows outt they have skylights above. Very friendly host helped us get wherever we wanted to go, and even woke up at 5 am to make sure we got our cab without a problem. Beds firm but cozy,...

For the pros: Angela speaks english and helpep us plan our hike on the Great Wall...the hike was fantastic! The Inn is a 5 minutes walk to Gubeikou Great Wall ticket entrance and is incredible playground for kids (the best in China so far). The Inn has full amenities and have an excellent restaurant where you eat the meal of the day (always different). The cook is grea...

I just needed a place to sleep while in transit through Beijing and the Jianan Hotel was perfect for that. Check-in was quick and easy, desk staff had adequate English. Room was ready and clean. Bed was firm (like many Chinese beds). In the evening, they asked what time I would return to the airport, provided a wake-up call and had the van ready to take me to the co...

Hotel close to airport. Staff were very helpful, immediately whipping out the cell phone translation app to cover my lack of Chinese language. Breakfast available on site for 18 yuan Many restaurants within walking distance Found that a taxi from the hotel to the nearest Beijing transit station was the go

Not really a non-recommendation as I missed my train from Guangzhou and never made it to 7 Days in so I can't say yay or nay as I never actually stayed there. I was told though that it is a good place to stay if visiting the "Great Wall" as it is close-by.

Literally 2 seconds walk from hotel to Sanyuanqiao train station. You can catch airport express to hotel cost 25Yen. I was a bit nervous booking this hotel due to the fact of bad reviews from previous guests. In my opinion demanding and unreasonable guests I can say they deserve bad service. I booked premier executive room, on checking was upgraded to executive suit! ...

Most enjoyable stay at the Springs Valley Hotel. The hotel staff, apart from a couple, spoke little English. However nothing was a problem to them. The carpet in our Deluxe Room was a pale colour and unfortunately stained in places from other travelers. This is not indicative of their daily servicing of rooms, as cleaning was good. Excellent buffet breakfast included i...

must commend he hotel for its honesty. i forgot a substantial amount of cash in the hotel safe, and they e-mailed me to collect it ( i had left china). they returned it promptly to my rep. thank you. have been staying only at this hotel in beijing for the past 10 years. highly recommended.

I arrived from the UK and the journey from Beijing Airport was reasonable. The hotel is new, modern and has a decent area with different wings set around a pretty water and flower feature and courtyard. I was given a room upgrage to the Executive Wing where I was able to have free breakfast and evening snacks which added value to the price. Most certainly I would stay ...

There's a good fitness center with a nice pool they charge for internet at the business center, breakfast is plentiful with a lot of options form oriental and western cuisines. I highly recommend this hotel to families, business people and couples that want to enjoy getting away from it all in Beijing.

after staying at several hotels in beijing, we have decided that this is the best one for value for money. also customer service in china is nothing to shout about, however every member of staff at this hotel was friendly, kind and helpful. not once did anyone make us feel like we were unwelcome (as many hotels in china have). it has several large buildings all wi...

The hotel is located in a "Hutong", i.e., a very small alley. Most taxi drivers refuse to go into those, but I arrived at 11 p.m., it was dark, and I couldn't see the hotel from the entrance of the Hutong, so I begged and pleaded with the taxi driver, who finally consented to taking me all the way to the hotel (I gave him a good tip for his pains). Once I arrived, I fo...

The Beijing Yanshan Hotel is located in the Haidian district and walking distance from the East Gate of Renmin University. While the hotel does show some signs of its age (faded carpets, decor, etc), the rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and the price is an excellent value. While there are certainly more extravagant hotels in Beijing, for the sightseer who want...

As stated in one of the reviews below, I was looking for a hotel that offered a comfortable stay, but did not have the rates of a 5 star hotel. Hotel Kapok is one of them. The location is hard to fault, just 5 minutes' walk from Wangfujing, and 5-10 minutes' walk from either Tiananmen East Station, or Wangfujing station (Tiananmen East is slightly nearer). There are al...

I love this hotel. I have stayed here twice and would choose to stay here again if I was passing through Beijing again. The hotel is right in the middle of the Hutongs and in a perfect place for exploring the little alleys that make up this district. It's also very close to the metro for easy access to the rest of the city. The rooms are quirky and traditional. The a...

We were traveling with our 10-month baby for the first time in Beijing and was looking for a hotel nearby Qinghua University. We were impressed with this hotel because of its affordability, luxurious comfort, accomodating and attentive staff and service, and the variety of gourmet food in the restaurant as well as its in-room breakfast for saving time. The only thing ...

- Room size: decent for couples - Room hygiene: really clean & cleaning service does the job great everyday - Bed: the best hotel bed we've seen in Beijing, Guangzhou and HK; clean, soft & high quality sheet set - Front desk: helpful only if you approach them first; staffs not good at English; if you ask using very simple English, they can help you. - Location: close t...

I was moved to this hotel by agoda because the hotel I originally chose was overbooked. I was given a room on a high floor that had a view of the forbidden city and beihai park, I spent hours just sitting by the big windows of my room just staring at the view. Transportation is also easy because the bus station is very near and taxi/uber driver knows the hotel. Locatio...

I was stuck at the Beijing airport with a canceled flight and a group of 6 students. The CITIC provided inexpensive rooms for us, with a very convenient shuttle to/from the airport. The hotel was nicer than expected, with several restaurants, a bar with live band, swimming pool, and a very nice gift shop. The staff were friendly, and spoke English. If I ever need a lay...

i chose this hotel cause it is virtually next door to beijing international exhibition center where i had some business and have to roll a heavy pelican case with my equipment every day there and back. this is world recognized brand hotel, so you receive a decent western type service not available everywhere in china. hotel is located 5 min walk from carefour supermark...

I absolutedly loved this hotel. I've stayed at quite a number of large hotels in Beijing, and, even though this is a four star hotel, it beats most of the five-star hotels I've stayed in hands down. I stayed in a loft on the 16th floor. The room was huge and is more than enough to comfortably accommodate 2 people. The rooms were also clean, and room service was v...

I travel a lot, and I was leery after reading the reviews on here. The bed was slightly hard but that's china. Everyhing else was incredible! I was there 10 nights. Very clean, very safe (in room safe worked) convenient to sites, shopping and restaurants. The staff is amazing. Everyone speaks english and all go out of their way to help you! I cannot wait to go back....

The New World Beijing is ideally situated in Central Beijing for those wanting to explore the many fascinating locations in this historical city. These include Tienanmen Square, the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Heavenly Palace, National Museum of China, Lama Temple and Confucius Temple - all easily accessible. The suite that my wife and I were upgraded to was stun...

After checking out of the hotel we planned to stay in (dirty, gross) In the wee hours of the morning and making a reservation for the Artyzen we were amazed that they allowed us to check in at 0830 with no extra charge so that we could get some much needed rest! The location isn’t great but if you don’t mind walking 1k to the metro it’s just fine. The restaurant is d...

Very convenient to airport for an overnight stay before that early morning flight out of Beijing. Hotel appears under utilised, but late December I guess is not peak tourist period. The Club L level is very well appointed with pool table, free use of Mac and Windows PCs, also conference facilities available. The executive lounge serves breakfast for the Club L level...

Stayed in a room with executive access. Room was good if not a little dated in terms of decor. Exec club wasn't as generous as other Beijing hotels (Sofitel, Hilton, Westin)...it had fruit and basic snacks and local beer and heiniken, tea and coffee available all day but wines spirits were only available for a limited time in the evening which I found surprising. Other...

Everything was good. We didn't want to be in the center of Beijing but we wanted a nice, well-furnitured room. Doubletree by Hilton Beijing Hotel was a perfect match. It made us comfortable, soothing, relaxing. You can go to shop in near shopping mall area, Xidan. Even, the building next to Hotel is the shopping mall. I strongly recommend this hotel!

Hotel Eclat Beijing is a wonderful option for anyone living in Beijing or traveling to Beijing. It is located in a shopping mall which makes it all the best as you just walk through the lobby and then you can enjoy restaurants and great stores around you. The facilities are wonderful, especially the massage chair in your room. The staff were friendly and helpful, some...

What a regretful experience and hotel choice! Had to stay in that area of the city for business meetings. Hotel seemed reasonable and price point was attractive. Worse hospitality I've seen in ages. Except for one person, the entire staff was hostile and extremely unhelpful. Definitely not the kind of stay for foreigners visiting China.

The Nuo Hotel is the best example of a luxury hotel that I stayed in in China, with everything really meeting or exceeding expectations. It's not in a particularly interesting or nice part of Beijing (there is a good park nearby), but the rooms and pool are spectacular and you couldn't have a kinder or more helpful staff. (They also speak good English, which is reall...

The hotel isn't too bad but just not perfect. Overall rooms and services are ok. Breakfast is the pretty much the same stuff every day although there is a relative wide spread. The hotel is not inconvenient but it is not within close walking distance. Perhaps the few minutes of walking would be tolerable but in the summer heat, any minute less in the heat would be go...

The check in was great and it is always a pleasure to be greeted by the hotel manager. Check in was quick and easy and the service is unique. Would recommend this hotel to my friends. I stayed at the Beijing Hotel and the Long Palace wins hands down over Beijing Hotel

Stayed for 3 nights at the Emperor Qianmen. It's not so easy to find and you can't rely on Google Maps as this seems to have the wrong location. If you can find East Qianmen Road or Qianmen Street (main shopping street with Starbucks at the top end) it's located between these. When you see the red arch along East Qianmen Road or the hanging red balloons along Qianmen S...

the hotel is located within the olympic village, you can easily walk to the national stadium (birds nest), the water cube and to the national convention center. also very friendly staff, speaking good english, more then sufficient to communicate - what can be rare in china! rooms are small but very clean and nice. restaurants are inside the hotel and provides very good...
Traveler impressions of Beijing
Been twice, first time air quality was good, second time it was disgusting. Avoid during smog alerts.
Beijing is very modern city offering to visitors everything what they need shopping or visiting places or museums
Beijing has all cultural monuments, palaces, and gardens in each and every corner of the city! Must explore all! Local eatery is hit n miss, but definitely look into TA.
Amazing city with many historical and cultural attractions and beautiful parks. A great place to shop as well.
Beijing is a good city with a good development. And also clean except the public toilet. Unfortunately, the people is not full of hospitality and shooping is very terrible.
Beijing is for tourists who want to experience a city that has a lot of Chinese culture and history. It is a very large city so if you're planning to commute by subway, make sure you have your 3 square meals and you're prepared for subway transfers that require a good amount of walking.
The place is nice. It is rich in historical and cultural values and are very nice to look at. However, I wonder why a lot of big hotels near the Tiananmen square look very old from the outside.
Great Wall and Forbidden Palace are well know for Beijing. Specialy food at Wangfujing, you have to try is Scorpion and Starfish.
Beijing is not for the faint hearted. You've got to be rugged and in shape. While the (recent) subway system has made different sectors of this ENORMOUS city easier to access, you still have to walk some distances to get to where you want to go after you exit a subway station.
Do not ever travel Beijing around 1st Oct to 7th Oct.(China National Day holiday season) I travelled during that period and some places were closed, Trains and attractions were very crowded.
Beijing has beautiful people and so much history and places of entertainment to enjoy. The nightlife clubs bars and restaurants are awesome, the markets and shopping is world class with a plethora of offerings that is mind boggling.
When you plan based on review, consider -ve reviews as well. Kung Fu(Red Theatre) - Is not really a Kung Fu show.
Beijing is full of people, with the crowds in all those popular areas like cultural, historical sites.
Crowded but more order. There are lots of interesting places to see in the city and nearby. Food is cheap everywhere, people more helpful and friendlier than other cities.
I lived and worked in Beijing for 2 years.I hung around mostly Chaoyang District .Must see- The Great Hall,Forbidden City,Summer Palace,The zoo,Temple of Heaven,Lama Temple,Beautiful parks.
Beijing is a huge city that is still modernizing at an extremely fast pace. I say still modernizing because despite what it looks like from the outside, there are still things that need adjusting within to fully cope with being with the rest of the modern world.
the city is good and beautiful but the taxi and the local people is not so friendly to the tourism.
The city with 2 out of the 7 wonders of the world, a place for you to get to know more on chinese culture / history, forbidden city, summer palace, great wall to name few of the beautiful and amazing places to visit.
I was lucky enough to have visited a pollution-free Beijing. I actually bought a face mask in case pollution was unbearable.
clean city; hotel costs are reasonable; sub-way is accessible and efficient; cost of taxi is affordable; taxi drivers are helpful and brings you straight to your destination (no roaming around just to increase the cost); but all the 20 or so taxis we took do not have English-speaking drivers; always carry the address of your hotel which is WRITTEN IN CHINESE; ask hotel staff to write on the address further instructions to the taxi driver on how to get to the hotel; expensive city in terms of signature products; local food is abundant and affordable; a very high-tech city; please give allowance to cultural differences such as many of them do not respect queues and they do not say excuse themselves in case they want to go ahead or had accidentally hit you; to outsiders, Bejingers seem to be rude and ill-mannered when it comes to getting ahead of the subway or bus or queues but I think this is just an issue of culture and environment.
Beijing is a city designed to impress and more importantly intimidate. Streets are incredibly long and wide.
Beijing is one of the wonderful place to live, Stay, Sightseeing, I did not went to US but I feel that this is best place in top ten world cities.
The air pollution in the city bad. It was very hazy, hot and humid in the month of July. I will never go to Beijing in July and August if I wish to go to Beijing again.
Beijing is a great city . always something new to find in the way of a restaurants / dining, or a new building opening, nice shops for all types of taste , plenty to do do and see.
Its dusty.Better to avoid during summer. Can expect a 39 deg c.Inhabitants are rude even if you speak mandarin.
A) Buzzling City with both old cultural building blending in with very modern buildings and landscape.
Bustling crowded city. Historically rich. Good for shopping. Many nice parks. Good transportation system and easy access to many places of interest.
Forbidden City: must see. Great Wall: must see. Be prepared for huge crowds everywhere, a lot of pushing, and tonnes of security.
Best thing was having a friend show you around. I would like to have gone to see SHanghai, and to the beach if possible.
You must visit Beijing on your first visit to China. It is what foreigners think of when they think of China.
Beijing's best hotels with breakfast

Great 5 star hotel in Chaoyang. It's about a 7 minute walk to the subway line. Plenty of restaurants and food within walking distance. The swimming pool and gym are very nice. The rooms are nicely appointed. My only complaint is that the AC doesn't work in the winter. I've noticed this throughout other Beijing hotels.

the hotel is really nice. it is new, and well kept. the breakfast is great, can not be much better. the vip floor does worth the extra money you pay for it. mini bar in the room is very very expensive, like most hotels in beijing, and way more expensive, then most countries in the world. location is great, can not be much better then that. it is right near the ol...

The hotel is right at Wangfujing Street and is only a couple minutes walk to the pedestrian-only section. A great location for food and shopping. Subway station is within walking distance, but I would advise taking a taxi to get there if you have luggage since it is several minutes of walk from the subway station. The hotel enforces the non-smoking rule pretty well. ...

Wonderfully located near Sanlitun and the Ambassy area, probably one of the best places in Beijing to organize visits (forbidden city, great wall, Heavenly temple,...) in a very central part of Beijing and still very relaxing, especially during the week-end. Also very good for business people.

Really glad we decided to stay here! We took a red-eye flight and arrived at the hotel at 830am, they rushed to get a room arranged for us, and upon hearing we had her to have breakfast, brought us to the restaurant for food. The room was well maintained and we especially loved the bidet. You can opt for them to serve you breakfast in your room - which really helps sav...

Although far away from the central tourist activities in Beijing, the Ascott is a lovely place to stay — more like a spa than a hotel. The staff is lovely and speaks more English than one often finds in Beijing. The breakfast each morning was quite extensive, offering both Chinese and Western dishes as well as omelettes on demand. And the room was beautiful — spacious...

The hotel gives us plenty of big surprises!! Everything in the hotel room is perfect, it is spacious, clean, modern and incredibly comfortable, we feel like at home. The facilities are superb, the swimming pool, the water park, the hot springs are all imcomparable. The location is close to the Great Wall and Ming Tombs. The staff of the hotel are extremely nice an...

I booked this hotel for the first time a few months ago and I was impressed of the excellent value for money that this hotel offers. The next thing that makes this hotel a good one is the location about a 10 minutes walk from sanlitun and the embassy district is right in front. For me this hotel is my prefeered hotel when staying in beijing

Took a bit of a tussle even with the baidu map to reach this place, but once you find it, you'll figure directions easily - great location close by Jingshan Park (literally 200m away), the forbidden palace and other closeby attractions. Location is not short of eateries and supermarkets, and is accessible with buses and a 15 minute walk to 2 different subway stations. ...

I am a beijingnese but been living abroad well traveled worldwide staying all sort of high end hotels. However this is the first time I would like to write a review for a hotel. Being sceptical at the beginning about the service standard due to some reviews but was only surprised by the high level of professional attentive care to guests. Our family has 9 members wit...

Centrally located in the exciting Sanlitun area, this has to be the most hip hotel in Beijing. It's beautifully remodeled, with minimalist Japanese Zen-like structure, wooden spa floor & bath tub, see through bath, high ceilings, and modern equipment. Loved the welcome gift of a mask and hand-written note, and also the reception area where the young staff comes to gree...

This is a comparatively new hotel located at Wanfujing area. Once I stepped in, tranquility is what impressed me the most. I arrived a little earlier, so the room was not ready, but the concierge was very helpful by finding my bank and get me a taxi quickly. When I was back, the room was ready, clean and elegantly decorated with everything I need. I went to Beijing for...

Locatio...
