The Bijay Niwas Palace is tucked away almost halfway between Udaipur and Jaipur in a pretty part of the country side near Bijainagar. And what a find! It's a hunting lodge that is in a time warp but beautifully "restored" and amazingly clean! Every glass and plate sparkled, the waiters actually have a clue and know how to serve and the grounds are trimmed and neat. The dining room has a very Art Decor English feel but unlike some of the Haveli's we stayed in this felt like truely going back in time. We were taken on a tour of the local village, which we had done at other locations, but this felt real. The families we met were happy and genuine. What a hidden diamond
