Staff were friendly and the hotel is situated literally beside the Ayala mall. The food was a bit mediocre for such a place but that wasn't a big deal breaker. The hotel was very safe, as you need to swipe your card to get access to your floor and room. Definitely will stay here again in the future.

The staff us akways hekpful? Kind, but veru professional and firm. The ladt time I stayed there I slipped in the wet, slippery showeroom. The staff was very concerned and eventually adked fir suggestions on how they they can make the area safer. I suggested that they probably should put safety holding bars in the shower rooms as well as provide intercoms/emergency phones as there are none. This is very important for elderly guests who cannot gi diwn to the libby all the time whenever they need something. Other than that, RedPlanet CDO is excellent And uts lication is superb too!. I hope it stays that way!

I'm with my kids and it's their second time to visit the place and unfortunately they choose the place because they like and the wifi because it's s good among the hotels we've been to in Cagayan de Oro. But this time the wifi sucks and I wasn't able ti do my online works, email and other onlien transactions. One day without wifi is considerable but the whole week of staying with NO wifi, is not a good idea. I hope this will be the last time it will happen to the connections. Get everything fix as is comftable of staying the place. Thanks !

Great budget hotel in a good location in Cagayan De Oro. Typical Filipino breakfast on offer, all OK if you like fish for breakfast. That aside, we stayed in an executive suite which was a great size, very clean and comfortable. Would certainly recommend this place to anyone travelling to Cagayan De Oro

Location wise, it’s between two malls Ayala Centrio and Sm Cagayan. The room is really nice, clean and at par with hotel standards. The bed’s comfortable, the comfort room is clean and with good water pressure. Would love to stay here again whenever we go to Cagayan de Oro.

The place is good cos they have the cheaper option for single travelers with a standard single bed for the bedroom. Location is excellent in city centre and it's near public transport, eateries, malls and the Universitiee. Breakfast is great pinoy food and they serve you in bed (that's why it's call ("Bed & Breakfast")! The staffs are generally helpful and friendly and initially I wanted to stay for 1 night only, but decided to extend my entire stay for another 4 nights in Cagayan De Oro city, before flying back to Cebu. Highly recommended!

New Dawn Hotel is my go-to hotel in Cagayan de Oro because of its location and the rooms are nice compared to other hotels in the same price range. I love the rooftop bar and they also have a spa. I definitely recommend this hotel. If you're looking through the comments to see if you would book this hotel, stop scrolling and book now :)

We weren't looking forward to making the drive back down from Cagayan de Oro again. We were lucky Lohas was nearby. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked our room (we booked a Grand Superior). It was big, bright and tastefully decorated. It was also very clean, something I'm very particular with as I have allergies. It had its own balcony looking out onto the deck facing the highway. A few things to note: The room DOES come with its own bathroom (the listing says "shared bathroom"). However, I couldn't find the hairdryer that is supposedly there. Also, the shower only runs cold water. Only a hop, skip and a jump away from the airport, Lohas would appeal to travelers with early flights. It is a bit pricey by local standards, but as everything is new, you get what you pay for.

We were visiting a friend whose father has just died, so we know that we wouldn't have the luxury of time to enjoy the city. We chose Uptown because it is very near the airport, and because it's new. We were really impressed with the size of the room. It's really a condominium type room, with a loft, a kitchen area, and living room. We can still smell the "newness" of the room when we got inside. It's really clean. However, because it's still new, some parts of the hotel have not been completed yet. The elevator has not been constructed. But this was no problem with us, because our room is just on the 2nd floor. The 3rd floor is still under construction. The hotel also has no generator when we experienced a brown-out for a few hours. It also has no airport transfer service, but they took care of finding a cab for us, every time we need it. Except for a coffee shop (Figaro), the condotel has no restaurants yet. All in all, we liked the service we got at Uptown. The staff were really helpful and accommodating. We would highly recommend Uptown, especially to those who would have to stay long in Cagayan de Oro.

I am travelling for business purposes in cagayan,I have tried many different hotel to stay every time I visit there but the Primavera is exceptional. Why I can say it is the best first I didn't expect that they will literal and respectfully grant all of my special request when I booked on their residence. Second the staff are very accommodating. Third they don't do over charge unlike other hotels in cagayan because our check out is 11AM then I decided to go out and ask them if I can still stay for another hour because I need to go and eat outside and they politely say not a problem without charging me additional fee. Fourth the place is really quite not much noise aside from the kids who enjoy their day but not really disturbing. Fifth There is a room service everyday they clean the apartment and you can cook they have all of the kitchen stuff inside the apartment. About the room it was very clean and you have your own wifi modem inside the room so no need to connect to their office wifi unlike other hotels. Also primavera is near SM so there is no problem at all. I will surely booked a room in primavera.

This was by far the most pleasant stay I've had at any hotel in the Philippines. After staying at Apple Tree Resort for a week, I give this hotel the highest marks and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to northern Mindanao. We were always treated extremely well and the staff did everything possible to accommodate our needs, no matter what we asked for. The room we stayed in was absolutely fantastic and included a very large family/living room with a balcony in addition to a private bedroom and large bathroom with a tub and a separate shower. Super comfortable and relaxing and great to sit on the covered balcony even when it was raining. The hotel itself is immaculate (including our room) and also has a huge pool and very clean, well-kept grounds. The food at the hotel restaurant was excellent and the complimentary breakfasts overlooking the ocean were a great way to start the day. The location of the hotel just a few meters from the ocean and a very nice sandy beach for walking and swimming is fantastic. The beach stretches for a very long distance in each direction so it's great for those who enjoy taking long walks on secluded beaches. This is also a great place to wade or swim in the ocean since the water remains shallow for a long distance. The hotel is a very short distance from the small town of Opol, which has restaurants, etc. and not far from Cagayan de Oro. The price was more than reasonable for our room and everything else this hotel has to offer. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quiet hotel right on the ocean in a very convenient location with excellent accommodations and staff. I would to thank the management and staff for making our stay so pleasant - this will definitely be my hotel of choice for my future trips to the Philippines.

This occasion was different, we will be returning to St. Nicholas Inn. It is centrally located, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly and the price is right. If you are looking for 5* hotel, then don't stay here - go elsewhere, the hotel lacks a restaurant, bar, spa, pool all of which are of no interest to myself or family as there are plenty of other places to eat and go to, this is a Travelers Inn and not a resort. All rooms are equipped with air-con, which the units have been serviced recently. How did we know, well we had to turn off the air-con at times as we felt too cold in our room - an unusual experience in the Philippines! I am certain that if you asked the staff for an evening meal they would go fetch it for you or try to make it themselves - that is how attentive they really are. If ever the hotel is for sale, then I would be a serious contender to purchase it!

Arrived earlier that expected and asked if we could check-in earlier but they told me that we had to pay extra to check-in early. Upon checking-in, I noticed that the beds were smaller compared to the usual ones that the other hotels have. The hotel had a Bar in the top floor. We first stayed at the 6th floor but due to the noise that the bar was making, we asked the manager to move us to another room. Wifi was a little slow. The toilets were subpar. The only good thing about that hotel was the air-conditioning. Extra Pillows cost P50/day. Their breakfast is ala carte not buffet. Choices were silog meals. Poorly cooked, eggs were burnt, coffee was a little cold and they don't start serving until 7am (which is kinda inconsiderate for guests that have an early or long day ahead). Safe to say, I will not be booking at this hotel again and I do not recommend this hotel to any of my friends.

If you love to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, you will certainly love the place. At night, head out to the pool area and enjoy Cagayan de Oro City lights. Yes, this place is already part of Bukidnon but this is closer to Cagayan de Oro City. If you are an oldie, you may request for a buggy to the pool area and back. (Roland of arveesblog dot com)

We had two pool view rooms booked, one for my wife and myself and one for our three teenage children. We had twenty of my wife's family over that Saturday night to eat in the restaurant and watch the band. There was a BBQ on and everything was perfect as far as I was concerned. Very friendly staff and the owner Danny is very helpful. Last time we stayed we did the white water rafting and this time we visited Kampo Juan adventure park. Great Anicycle ride (check it out on YouTube) and fantastic sustainable building designs. Next trip we'll do a trip over to Camiguin Island. Will stay at Kingston again next time we're in Cagayan De Oro.

I am recommending it to everyone.

Location is perfect near all the activities available in CDO and just 1 hr from the airport. This is a 2-star hotel which has a lot of potential to be more than that if they renovate the rooms especially the cabana area and their facilities. They can also offer a room with the view of the ocean, instead of covering some of the cabanas with iron sheets. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the junior suite (instead of business suite) I was happy with it, room was spacious and clean. Aircon was a bit noisy though. I initially booked for a cabana but opted for an upgrade as the room seem really old and I don't like the smell. Aircon temperature doesn't get too cool anymore plus water heater was not working. Staff were very accommodating with inquiries however they need to be trained as they usually cannot answer queries right away and they are not very familiar with their area's tourist spots. They can also improve their menu, offer buffet breakfast and wider range of selection. Swimming pool needs major major renovation, couldn't get myself to swim as it seem really dirty and in need of maintenance. Over all I still recommend this hotel due to the reasonable rate that they offer plus the location.

I read many comments about all the hotels in Cagayan De Oro City and decided that The Pearlmont Inn sounded like the best bet. And I was not disappointed. Contrary to some opinions, I found the hotel to be very clean. The staff was nice to us. They even provided me with an adapter so I could use my lap top on their electric current. This was also one of the few hotels that provides a refrigerator, which I require for my purposes. Although the internet connect was slow- it's also slow at the internet cafe at the mall down the street. I was also happy that there were no surprise fees at checkout time because we experienced that in Manila. The few minor annoyances there would also be found anywhere there in Cagayan De Oro.

The environment is so relaxing and having a garden atmosphere was just good enough for a restful holiday. But we would just like to suggest that the management should start practicing composting rather than burning dry leaves. Smoke is just a terrible thing to handle all day. Second, we would like to see new signage and nameplates of different plants and animal species because as of this time, it is already faded and almost can't be read anymore. I think, if they will consider a makeover, this will lead to a better experience of each guests visiting the village.

My boyfriend and I had a hassle-free stay. Over all, it's a good value for money. If you're looking for an average-priced hotel which has a convenient location and friendly staff, this is the hotel for you. My boyfriend is Singaporean and he swears he will choose this hotel again the next time we visit Cagayan de Oro City.

Here in Cdo..I’ve experience extreme sports, such as water rafting, the splashing of waters around my body, the breath taking adventure while plunging into the water that gives me a lot of fun! After that tiring adventure, I looked for some place where I can relax and unwind. And I’m happy that I found CASA MARGA. The warm welcome of the receptionist. She gave me a snickers chocolate with a tag ”enjoy your stay at casa marga”. The place was clean which I’m so particular with and it is so safe and secure for they have a security guard and cctv 24/7. Lying on bed at night, won’t get me bored for I have in my room a cable TV and a 24-hour wifi access, which I can easily keep in touch with my loved ones. Reading the previous reviews of this hotel, I can really say that the management has improved a lot. As guest, I felt that I was their priority. Thank you and more power!

But I’d still book another stay in this hotel because it is easy on the pockets, and it is also very near to businesses. That is to say, it’s a walking distance to Gaisano and Centrio. And since you’re already in Centrio, it’s just another block away from SM Downtown. The hotel is across Lifestyle District; the nightlife scene literally came to you. 7/11 is also across the hotel. I’m willing to overlook the hotel’s misgivings just because of its location.

Van and bus to balingoan port is readily available (going to camiguin). The only downside is, it's within the market area. A lot of people with try to hustle you so be very careful and vigilant. Beware also of pick pockets. Take care of your belongings very well. Don't leave any valuables unattended. Some vans also overpriced so make sure to ask the hotel staff before taking your ride.

The hotel provided the basic needs of our stay. It offers free daily breakfast (7-10am)although with the same options(luncheon meat, longganisa, corned beef, etc.--served with rice and egg). Early check in (6am to be exact)wasn't a problem especially if you've indicated it in your booking form. Wifi was fast although it was only available in their lobby. The lobby was small, with only 2 seats so I could imagine if all of their rooms are occupied. It wasn't a problem for us though because we'd rather rest in our room than standby there after a day's activity. The staff and guard were all friendly, respectful, and attentive to our needs. Except for the noise outside every morning, which I suspect came from the neighboring residence, sleeping at night was turned peaceful and hassle-free. Overall, I could only think of minor issues but the hotel so far met my average requirements for a budget hotel.

The place is good cos they have the cheaper option for single travelers with a standard single bed for the bedroom. Location is excellent in city centre and it's near public transport, eateries, malls and the Universitiee. The staffs are generally helpful and friendly and initially I wanted to stay for 1 night only, but decided to extend my entire stay for another 4 nights in Cagayan De Oro city, before flying back to Cebu. Highly recommended!

So I booked two rooms, which could supposedly accommodate 8 people. When we actually got to the hotel, it turned out that the Junior room only had TWO SINGLE BEDS. Certainly not good for four, unless they meant four petite girls. Because we were on a budget, the 6 of us squeezed ourselves into those two Junior rooms. Best call up the hotel first to clarify before booking. The rooms were neat, at least. But they don't clean the rooms everyday; we were there for 2 nights but when we got back from the tour on the second night the rooms haven't been cleaned. The bathroom had an odd layout that didn't separate the bowl from the shower, but it served its purpose. The hotel should remind their front desk staff to smile a bit more.

I am recommending it to everyone.

I looked here in Agoda and found the Golden Stallion and its price was about 1/4 of the others I booked, so I gave it a try. Most taxi drivers have no idea where this hotel is. Tell them it is at 21st and 27th Streets in Nazareth and they will find it very quickly. The fare from either Centrio Mall or Limketkai Mall is from 60 to 70 pesos, depending on traffic. Even on Saturday night, the fare was less than $1.25 USD. Check in was very fast and easy and they did not require me to give them my credit card or passport. I showed them my agoda certificate and was given my key. It was very easy and efficient. The hotel is very basic, but also clean and acceptable. The aircon was fine. There is no safe in the room. The king size bed was a little soft, but not a problem at all. This is a more residential area than other hotels, and that means that it is very quiet and dark at night. That is a plus for me, because it allowed me to sleep soundly. I ate the breakfast of cornsilog (rice, corned beef with onions, and a fried egg). It was actually very good. I did not eat other meals there but they do have a good room service menu at reasonable prices. To be honest, for the price, this hotel is an outstanding value. I would stay there again without hesitation.

It was great, the room was cleaned, just a little bit small room for the 3 person but it was great, the buffet breakfast was good, friendly staff ever. I would like to stay here again, and recommend this hotel to the travelers want to stay in Cagayan De Oro City. Great price and accessible.

One day without wifi is considerable but the whole week of staying with NO wifi, is not a good idea. I hope this will be the last time it will happen to the connections. Get everything fix as is comftable of staying the place. Thanks !

Our stay at Hotel Sogo - Cagayan De Oro was an pleasant one. Front desk personnel were welcoming, our rooms were comfortable enough, clean & air-con adequate. Food was reasonably priced despite being on the conservative size portion-wise, but it tasted pretty good & was filling. Transport to & from the hotel into town or markets is easy to get; just walk outside & hail a cab, jeepney or tricycle. Enjoyed our stay whilst there. It will be some years before we visit Cagayan D Oro again, but if Hotel Sogo is still around then & has done the usual regular upgrades, we will stay there again. Maria, Australia.

The only thing I was disappointed with was the towels which they possibly bought back in the 80's they were so thin after having a shower and using the towel I was still wet, also the shower wasn't the best, no hot water. But I was happy with our stay cause big room and location.

At 850Php, you already get to stay at a very clean and SPACIOUS room contrary to the ones I have booked during my prior CDO visits. GTI has good amenities too. It may not have pools and bars as it is only a two-star hotel, but it has flat screen TV and HOT AND COLD SHOWER, both of which really added COMFORT to my stay. Goodnews Travellers Inn has a VERY GOOD LOCATION. It is situated near Ayala and Limketkai Mall, hence making it CONVENIENT for tourists like me. GTI has EXCELLLENTLY TRAINED STAFF too. Their front desk officers are very friendly and flexible. They really made sure that I have maximized my two-day vacation to the extent that they offered to book my ferry ticket to Cebu City so that I could still buy pasalubongs during my last few hours in Cagayan de Oro City. I have stayed in quite a number of budgetels in Cagayan de Oro City but so far, this is the best one (overall). To be very honest, I was quite hesitant to book here at first but just because Trip Advisor's reviews lured me to do so, I did... and that was an unexpectedly yet TRULY GREAT DECISION.

It is very near the malls and some places of interest in CDO. They are also near in a lot of cafes and restaurants (restos which can only be found in CDO for travelers to try) which is great for travelers looking wide options of food trip around the city. I also like cleanliness of the room and hopefully they maintain it fresh and updated since they are a new hotel. We also got free breakfast on their posh restaurant so make sure to avail a package room with free breakfast.

Before my arrival, I kept in contact with them to make sure that my reservation was reflected in their system. It wasn't but they were more than happy to reserve a room for me. On the day of my arrival, they were very helpful as they allowed me to check in earlier since the room is already free and ready. I met the owner, or manager, I believed. She was really nice and welcoming. ROOM: I reserved a twin even though it was just me, but I had a friend over so it was convenient. It was roomy and had enough space. They have cable which was awesome. However, when I checked the bathroom, it was a little dirty, there was a dead cockroach on the floor, sink was leaking and the hot water was barely working, it wasn't as hot as you'd expect a hot water for showering to be. SERVICES/STAFF: It was spectacular! The staff were very sweet and friendly. I was able to order out and have it delivered (I ordered pizza). You just have to pay 10% corkage. They have a cafe which opens 3pm-11pm, which serves some pretty yummy food. Their dining area has affordable food as well. You don't have to worry about breakfast since it's free. On my last day, I notified them that I had to leave at 3am to catch my flight and they were more than happy to call a taxi for me. LOCATION: It is situated in a busy area since it is close to a school. There is traffic often too. However, it is pretty close to some stores and there is even an internet cafe and carenderia near the hotel. If you want to get to malls, you can take a jeep or taxi. WIFI: Internet connection was awesome as well. However, you can only access it if you're in the lobby or the cafe.

Staff were friendly and the hotel is situated literally beside the Ayala mall. The food was a bit mediocre for such a place but that wasn't a big deal breaker. The hotel was very safe, as you need to swipe your card to get access to your floor and room. Definitely will stay here again in the future.

Wifi wasn't working at all or maybe it was just bad reception. Condo staff especially the guards were arrogant and rude, we asked if we could talk to the unit owner to make a few changes on the check-in time and other arrangements but he just shoved us away and did not bother to listen. They did not give an extra key which I think is very vital especially if your a group of 3 when checking in. Anyway, the price of this for a nights stay in not worth it. I could find a better unit for half of the price.

Other than that, the place was really really nice. You can use the pool for a minimum fee.

My kids were disappointed because the pool was under repair and we we're not informed ahead. It was the reason why we choose this condo. In the website, they included the pool as one of the facilities available. I will never go back there. We should have stayed in a hotel where bed linens are of quality.

Excellent value self-contained home in quiet friendly neighborhood. Jollibee nearby. Helpful caretaker lives opposite. Close to the shopping mall in nearby Iponan and Seven Seas Water Park. Close to main highway to the airport. Thanks to the host for excellent accommodation.

Host did not email ahead the details of check in. Checking in is very disappointing since we were asked of our room number and we did not know. There is no generator nor emergency light even inside the room. During brown out, you have to provide your own flash light.

Traveler impressions of Cagayan De Oro
The traffic was like nothing I have experienced. No traffic lights or stop signs. Public transportation does well with dealing with it.
..leave it up to them! Very active city. Professional security in all shopping malls. Good hub location for sights you may want to see. Divine Mercy Shrine is a must see no matter your religion.
Centralized are accessable. Hotel cleanliness was to be desired, the bed infestation is in abundance, the management sir not offer any apologies or indeed a refund of sorts,it cost me 400eso for hospital consultation and 2.
200 peso for treatment medicines to treat the insects bed bites from the accommodation,we had stayed there for 14 nights. Regards stan the itchy man.
Poor urban planning. Traffic everywhere just like Metro Manila. Buses, trucks and pedicabs converge on their main roads
It is a safe city. there is a daily flight from cebu to cagayan de oro aside from the boat trips. This city has lots of fine dining restaurants.
Prices are very affordable.
Cagayan de Oro - being fondly called the "City of Golden Friendship" has lived up to its name. Try to visit tourist attractions around the city and neighboring areas in order to savor what are being offered in this great place.
It's a friendly and peaceful city. The people are willing to help and will give you correct direction to whichever you want to go.
The downside is the airport, it's far from the city center. If you want to catch a flight you need to go 1 - 2 hours earlier to avoid problems.
Aside from the mall and water rafting, there is nothing much to do in this city. For those who are religious, they can visit El Salvador where the shrine of the Divine Mercy is located.
very clean ,the people are friendly and helpful ,shopping excellent and transportation easy to get and not expensive .
Cagayan de Oro is important for services you cannot find somewhere else, from medical to administrative.
Shopping is good with plenty of good (but not cheap) malls. CdO is important as a transportation hub, but we struggle with the air quality and the loud and filthy traffic. Watch for pickpockets everywhere especially in the jeepney's. No we never enjoy spending time in CdO, we just have to deal with it sometimes.
People are generally friendly but I was surprised at the number of beggars in the streets. The city has a traffic problem and the whole place looks like it could do with a good cleaning.
The city itself is loud and busy, but there are good quaint places to eat at a good price. The city is interesting if you like the hustle and bustle of Philippine city life but I would recommend getting out away from the city of CDO itself to the beach, or forest park, or other outlying areas, like a trip to Camiguin island.
extremely exceptional place, the town's people are very warm and accomodating. It is indeed the city of the golden friendship!
CDO is a nice place to visit , but I think there is a need to improve on the cleanliness of the area.
People are friendly but they are not disposing their trash properly, i see many who just throw away their trash in the streets. The creek beside our hotel was full of garbage and trash. I think that Cultural Awareness and tourist spots of the city should be promoted. Even employess of the city and provincial offices do not know where the museums are. Thanks to "google", we were able to find it. I still would like to visit CDO again in the future.
A really freindly place to visit, the restaurants at Opol on stilts in the water are fantastic, if you waqnt to experience real calm and well being then a must see is The Statue of The Devine Mercy.
I am not an overly religious person but this place takes your breath away and will leave you feeling a better person just for being there, a truly remarkable, peacefull place to have a think or just take in the aura of the surroundings
A big city with lots of business establishments. It's good to conduct business meeting and conferences in this place because commuting for attendees/participants is very easy.
The malls and restaurants are accessible anywhere without spending much for transportation. Motorelas and taxi's are available at all times.
A new airport, close to Camiguin, great night life. Many activities to do out of town including zipline and white water rafting.
Adventure filled stay at CDO! White water rafting and the Dahilayan zipline and dropzone were awesome!
Cagayan De Oro City is one of the progressive cities of Mindanao and is consider to be a business center of northern Mindanao.
Majority of the people speaks English, Tagalog and Cebuano. The city is know as a "city of golden friendly" because of the innate friendliness of the people. Many activities can do in the city and its surrounding by the suburbs, as well as many historical and adventure sites in CDO.
Good shopping and business city. Close to excellelent white water rafting and adventure park. ( zipline and drop zone)
The place is nice. So many nearby beaches. Maybe an hour or two to reach one but it's all worth it. Just be careful with swindlers.
I, for one, was a victim. So many swindlers in CDO.
City itself is dirty, crowded, noisy and polluted..a mini Manila. Was only going to stay few hours but got trapped for 3 days due to ferry and flights being sold out.
Get out to the coastal provinces. Better yet..stay somewhere in Visayas. Mindanao..never again.
Cagayan de Oro has a lot of potential. That's another way of saying it hasn't achieved anything as a city yet.
There is nowhere to walk, and if you did try, you should wear heavy boots with a hard toe since Cagayan de Oro is like a junk yard full of hazards. It's unsafe to walk or ride a bike there. It's unfortunate because the city has beautiful blue skies whenever they are not burning their household rubbish. All the bars seem to feature karaoke which encourages people without musical talent to make a lot of noise. Even at the surrounding beaches, karaoke machines playing through the cheapest possible speakers are there to ruin your day. Having said all that, it is a very friendly city with very nice people. They just don't seem to know that a healthy city is one in which parks and outdoor pedestrian areas are necessary. Nor do they know that shopping isn't life.
I ask the people living there where is good place to take pictures. They said nothing to visit and places to take pictures.
cagayan de oro is safe, very convinient and a nice place to stay and the city is just a walking distance.
. a lot of restaurants, hotels, malls beaches, parks and a friendly people.
It is nice to visit the beaches in Cagayan de Oro and I like getting a massage at the Spas there because it is relatively cheap and the sfaff are good in doing massages
Cagayan de Oro City is already partially urbanized. Although it still kept and hid the nature's beauty which you should discover.
Convenience stores are located everywhere. People are just friendly like what the "City of Golden Friendship" is all about. There are variety of foods to choose from and their delicacies are a must try. Be always ready and prepare with the clothes you are going to wear because of the sudden changes in weather, but more importantly be prepared to explore the city.
Cagayan City is very nice place the people are friendly but the things I noticed in this place is there's no proper maintenance/ management in all areas of the City.
.very very dirty..u could see lots of rubbish everywhere. Hoping for the city to be clean in order to attract more foreign visitors.Specially the AIRPORT how come they operated but then there's no radar haven't even a runway lights.
stayed here for 7 nights. awesome places to visit. canoeing is fun. beaches are awesome. horseback riding.
outdoor parks. shopping. night market
My Wife lives near Cagayan de oro so I'm a frequent visitor here. It has all of the amenities you would expect from a City but it is also a very busy place.
It is very easy to get a Taxi or tricycle anywhere and by Western standards very cheap too. If you are travelling out of town then I recommend the rural buses as they are cheap, air conditioned and relatively comfortable and very regular. These can be accessed at the main bus terminal. There is an Airport for Cagayan de oro but it has now moved from the old site and it will now take an hour by car or bus to the new one as it's on the main road towards Opol and Illigan City. Overall if you get the chance to visit Cagayan City I thoroughly recommend it and You won't pay the same inflated prices as some other cities.
Nice city and a lot of good restaurants and spots but not easy to reach since airport now quite far and no night flights.
