Restaurant, rooms and pool offer exceptional views of the far reaching paddy fields and hills of An Giang Province. We were there at the end of April (30th April Long Weekend) and most fields were electric green. The room was clean, tidy, welcoming and offered great views of the paddy fields by day and the large (but empty) balcony offered star gazers great views. Th...

Had a major visa problem at the Vietnam border coming down from Phnom Penh by boat. Was held up for 3 hours because the immigration official at HCM airport had stamped 'Cancelled' on my multiple visa then written 'Not' over the 'Cancelled' stamp when flying to Siem Reap. Finally arrived at hotel and, having been advised of my visa problem, the staff upgraded us from a ...

The hotel is very clean, modern, good size room, well equipped with sockets next to the bed, clean kettle, fridge etc. Great location right in the centre of town. Breakfast options were a bit limited but for the price you can't really complain. We booked for one night and ended up staying three- there's not a lot to do in chau doc but was a great hotel for a little res...

Lovely resort tucked away just beside thr entrance of the cable car station for nui cam station. Stayed here before few months back. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean. They have a dining area for food. Restaurant serves decent food for anytime of the day. A place to be for peace and serenity. Tip - Buy snacks, cup noodles. There is nothing to do at ...

The Hotel is away from the centre but because we had our own bikes it was no problem. For the first day we had the hotel to our selves and the staff were very friendly . when a tour booked in the staff became more formal but the al a carte breakfast became a buffet. Our room was large and comfortable but had a bit of cigaret lingering odor.

This was a centrally located basic but decent hotel in Chau Doc. The breakfast was good, and the staff friendly, plus they made us feel very welcome by having a welcome sign with our names on when we arrived there! The only down was the side of the room. There were 3 of us so we booked into a superior twin, which had 2 double beds. The room was obviously only made ...

Great aircon, clean facilities, further from town than we had hoped for (which was our fault, not the hotels, as we didn't really realise how long it took to walk 1.5km). Be advised that no one at this hotel speaks any English, but don't let that deter you! It's all part of the adventure. We don't speak any Vietnamese but they seemed nice enough. Also be aware that the...

The staff was friendly and helpful. They agreed to change the room for us and they helped us to figure out how to use the scooter. Thanks for your kindness. The hotel looks very clean and the room is spacious enough. They have fridge in the room . Toilet is fine. They have free bottle water. It is 15 mins by motorbike away to Chùa Bà. The price is reasonable. However,...

The hotel is very close to Chau Doc market and the center and therefore very convinient. We stayed at the room for four which is very spacious and clean! The staff were very friendly. As our departure was in the late afternoon, we were allowed to use the bathroom to take showers after we had checked out and we really appreciated it.

i am really satisfied with the price of this hotel compared to the victoria chau doc which is pretty old. the service is good, the room is clean and closed to the temple. very convenience location. however, we were just offered the instant noodle for the complimentary breakfast. anyway, i will stay here again if visitting chau doc for its good price and good location.

I was very happy with this well-managed hotel in Chau Doc. Location is good, next to the market and only a short stroll/ride from the boat jetty. Reception staff was extremely friendly and customer oriented. They arranged my onwards travels professionally.

The best hotel for a overnight near border if you wish to go to Cambodia. We aririved late in the evening for an overnight before we go to Cambodia. We wanted to go by boat (Mekong river), but we had no idea how (we knew boats leave Chau Doc early in the morning but we had no tickets, so we planned to get up early and start walking from one to other company). In the m...

We didn't know what to expect when we booked this. Contact them to get transport to the place, since it is around 10km away from the city center. We were welcomed by a friendly family in their home. The next morning, we got a nice traditional breakfast, and a tour around the rural area including the rice fields, mango orchard, fish farm, etc. Room was clean and simple....

Staying at the Murray Guesthouse was one of the highlights of our trip through Cambodia and Vietnam, thanks to the generosity and efforts of the wonderful Guesthouse owners and operators who went to every effort to ensure we got the most out of our time in this Delta transit town. The Guesthouse is operated by a lovely Vietnamese woman, her Australian ex-pat husband, a...

The room is very basic and doesn't deserve "deluxe" at all and is too expensive for what it is. Be prepared to fight moskitos and other insects yourself. A big plus is the terrace overlooking the river where you can hang out watching all kinds of transport passing by. The restaurant above the rooms stays open until 10 pm, so the noise levels in the rooms is really high...

The owner and his family is very friendly. Rooms are very clean, big bathroom and quiet. We rent a scooter for a day for 150.000 Dong and got breakfast very cheap but it was delicious. Good Vietnamese coffee!!! The distance to the city is not that far but we didn't mind to take a moto taxi- it's so cheap and easy. And at least it's walkable as well! We - as a young t...

This hotel is look like motel. The room space is not so big but the bed is big. I have 2 rooms, one has balcony, other does not (look a little bit narrow). One room has no function fridge. The bathroom looks not good. However, we can have the car parking near. Moreover, this place is very near the market and the store, can walk around.

Traveler impressions of Chau Doc (An Giang)
I don't know that Chau Doc is on most travelers' itineraries -- indeed, we stayed there just because our travel arrangements to elsewhere required that we stay overnight.
We stopped here for one night on the way down south. Nice little town with amazing market and active locals.
Chau Doc is a nice place where u can experience the border of Cambodia abd the people there is honest and friendly.
This is my second trip to chau doc and still haven't seen it all, that's why I think 3-4 nights would be good.
We stayed in Chau Doc, for one night, as an overnight stop before heading up the Mekong Delta River on the Blue Cruiser speed boat.
It is a quiet place people are friendly there isnt alot to do here but it is still a nice spot to visit
nice town! and very friendly people. not much to see but has a local market that is worthwhile visiting.
We came to Chau Doc to visit Sam mountain and a Big Buddism sculpture. We also enjoy local food in city center and fruit in particular.
A colourful town. Do a river trip to see the floating markets, fish farms and villages and the Cham village.
I took a Tuk Tuk for the day at a cost of $15 and was pleasantly surprised at the wealth of places to see in the outlying area - A bamboo train ride a winery a couple of Temples and The Killing Cave of the Khmer Rouge as well as the flight of the bats at 5 pm - Ask at reception for a driver called Thony you will not be disappointed - If you like wine don't expect too much
Not real busy with tourists yet but well worth the visit for a view of life on the river and beyond.

More about Chau Doc (An Giang)
Once inside the Chau Doc city center, it’s easy to find a local hotel or guesthouse near the city center or outside of town closer to attractions such as Sam Mountain or the spectacular Tra Su Forest and Bird Sanctuary.
This forest is perhaps the most popular attraction of this region, and a boat ride along the flower and leaf covered river while the trees form magical passageways is one of the best experiences in Vietnam. During the dry season, expect this area to be less crowded as the boat trips along the river are much shorter than they are during the wet season. Whatever the season, there’s bound to be a plenty of scenery for the smart traveler who books a Mekong Delta boat tour. Back in the city, explore the many markets and floating villages that make their living right on the Mekong, and get to know riverside life alongside the welcoming locals who call this city home.
