A quick tip for people who want to drive into McleodGanj using their own car (without a driver), make sure you confirm that your hotel as parking space. Thankfully Deodar Villa has an arrangement with the temple management for using their parking space which is complimentary for it guests. its located very a stones-throw distance from the HH Dalai lama temple and very...

Great location near Dalai Lama temple and in the village of Mcleodganj, stunning hotel views on mountain side, walk to everything in that area. Shoppers paradise. For this local area this appeared to be the best hotel choice. Solid 3- 4 star for this area, could have been a little cleaner for NA standards. Very good hotel restaurant and a separate bar. Lots of local ea...

Great place to stay if you want to explore Dharamshala and Kangra. Traditional Himachali food was a revelation. The Divine Hima is an artists delight. Mr. Kumbhkarni who is an artist in his own right has done up the place beautifuly. Had a wonderful stay at Divine Hima

Great value for money. Large room with a 10/10 view. Large comfortable bed with warm blankets. Hot water available. Very short walk to main market. Abundance of cafes and restaurants to choose from within the location. Will definitely choose to stay here again next time I am in McLeod Ganj.

Restaurant is on the top floor offering great views. The breakfast is limited but well cooked and recommended. The hotel has no lift, so ask for a low floor then you only have to worry about climbing the stairs for breakfast. The only downside to this hotel is the 2 hotels opposite. Young Indians partying every night with loud music. It goes quiet after 11pm though. S...

Surya is a very well located hotel with good rooms maintained well by excellent cleaning staff who are in and out before you know it. The main fault of this hotel is lack of wifi and it appears that this has been an issue for some time and one that is unlikely to be resolved in the near future. For an international standard hotel this is sadly lacking. We found oursel...

the hotel was pretty good. we stayed there for 2 nights. got a complimentary upgrade to the suite. service was prompt and the staff was very courteous. but the resort is far from dharamsala, takes about 15 mins. book only if you are planning to rent a full time cab.

Courteous staff, right from the Manager to the room service guys. Stunning views of Dhauladhar range and Triund peak from the terrace rooms will make one spend more relaxing time at the hotel. One of the best hotel at Naddi with such amazing mountain views. Food was also good and served nicely. Rooms with tea makers, wider windows, geysers in the bathroom etc will make...

We had booked a ‘Premier Room’ for 3 of us for 3 nights in this hotel but received a Standard Room on the 3rd Basement Floor. There was no lift in the hotel. The Hotel was supposed to provide an extra bed, which actually was a mattress with a filthy bed sheet, a oil-soaked pillow & a filthy blanket. After admitting the third bed – the look of the room became worse than...

It's an awful hotel. The owner is rude. Place is dirty and unhygienic. The rooms were dirty and had a foul smell. There were insects all around the place. Food was tasteless for which the owner replied"it was upto you to have it or not". It's a request to Agoda to not to promote it as it is demeaning their name too in the market.

It was wonderful stay at Quartz Himalayan Brothers, supreb location with beautiful view of mountain nice neat and clean room .with all the modern amenities, very comfortable bed with good heating system with balcony.Very helpful staff and delicious food.very close to Jonag Kalachakra Monastery and Norbulingka Tibetan Institute.I definitely recommend who is seeking for ...

Located in a forest out of Dharamshala if you need to trek into town / Mccleod if you need to see the sights. WiFi only in the lobby and the restaurant is still being built (coming soon apparently), so food is in your room or in the lobby. It was pretty good and the staff, even without much English, are always friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the isolation and the su...

I spent four nights in Green Hotel and had a very good time there. The restaurant close to reception has a large space inside and outside (great terrace with view), it is a very pleasant area where to relax and meet some other travelers. Rooms are quite large with private bathroom. They can be different depending on prices, if you wish the best ask for a room with a vi...

The hotel is at a very beautiful location. The view from the room is very good. And it's right next to the parking lot which makes it easier for people who cannot walk much or climb up n down. My parents were visiting and they loved the place. The rooms are comfortable n staff is friendly.

It was amazing stay despite some rainy weather. The place is just in 7min walking distance from the Dalai Lama temple which has amazing walking trail around. McLeod Ganj is a very picturesque place and the hotel location is good. Rooms are very clean, wifi worked without problem, there is also cafe on the rooftops which are very nice to sit at. Staff is helpful and can...

We stayed for 5 nights at Villa Paradiso and 2 nights at Norling House in Norbulingka Institute and Chonor House in Mcleodganj. After exploring Mcleodganj in detail, (every possible Lane), we realised that Villa Paradiso has the best location of the Dhauladhar ranges and is also super convenient to the main square. (Roughly 500mtrs to Dalai Lama Temple. The best room ...

Absolutely fantastic stay at Greenwoods Inn, would recommend this highly to anyone planning for a trip to Dharamshala. The first thing to take your breath away will be the valley view, this in conjunction with the ever helping and courteous staff makes Greenwoods Inn a highly recommended place to visit whenever in Dharamshala.

I booked this hotel and also paid the full amount during booking but when I reached there he refused to give me room and when I showed him my booking details then he told me that he doesn't have any booking regarding this because this booking amount is transferred to the previous owner of this hotel and we are not responsible for this. Contact him for the refund but th...

The location allows accessibility to both up and down-hill points of Dharamshala. The staff seems super nice. It has a great view from the common area but didn't see many travellers hanging oit there. It gets super cold at night here, not sure what's wrong with the rooms. The folks here helped with an extra blanket though.

Zostel is located in upper Dharamkot, which is kind of “at the top of the mountain.” Bhagsu is in the middle and McLeod Ganj is at the bottom. I LOVED being a little more up, up, and away from the city streets and loved the isolation and gorgeous views. Hiking down to Dharamkot takes only 10 minutes, Bhagsu takes 15ish, and McLeod Gan depends on your speed but more lik...

The owners (two brothers) and staff at Homestay (also called Flourishing Flora) are very friendly and very helpful (e.g. they told us where to find an ATM, arranged transport, and pointed out where to get the laundry done). As well as an indoor sitting area, the guesthouse has a shielded outside sitting area/ restaurant with lots of plants and flowers, very peaceful....

Krishna Niwas is kind of hard to locate, if this is your first Dharamsala tour. I would suggest not going at night. The place is situated in Dharamkot, which is sort of a rural area but stunningly beautiful. The view is awesome and worth every penny. The staff is friendly. Note- You can reach Krishna Niwas by descending a set of stairs to the right of 'Trek and Dine', ...

great location, and great views of the mountain if you get the right rooms. hotel can be very loud at times, so make sure you don't get a room near the common areas as people tend to gather there and be very noisy. the hotel is hard to find since the entrance is a small opening under some stairs, so ask around

It must be a best hotel we met in India for that rate. It has really clean room, towels, hot shower everything really works. The most friendly staff I met ever. Hotel locates bit after Mc Leod Ganj but it woth it. You will enjoyed for the pleasant stay in this hotel and discover an incredible view in the morning from the bad through the window. We (two couples) stayed at Moonwalk during 15th-18th June. I will break down my review on the following: 1. Check-in - I requested early check-in (through phone call and email) as we expected to arrive early - we're driving from Delhi (9 hours drive). I also requested valley view (backside) rooms. They promised the rooms on call (no reply on email). We reached hotel v...

I’ve had the best time at King castle. Location is super convenient (3’ walking distance from Dalai lama temple, main road and market). Dorms are big and clen, beds are extremly comfy (slept like a baby), and they’ve got a restaurant upstairs. I did some work in the lobby where there are these comfy coaches and had the best time with the stuff in reception. I’m very gr...

The rooms are excellent. Especially the view from rooms and balcony are overwhelming. The stuff are very cooperative. Although the check-in time is 1pm, we reached there at 6am and they provide us a room without any cost. Fully complementary. The food quality is great and price is reasonable. On request they prepared dishes for my child which is not there in there menu...

The stay here was excellent. Anil and Sanjay really care about great customer service and take personal interest about the comfort of their customers. Like in all small places in India, there are practical problems in Mcleodganj but here a solution is sought and found at the earliest. This place is truly a home away from home. The staff, Shibu, Sachin, Pawan, Kako, Raj...

The hotel is located at Naddi village which the last motor able point of Mcleodganj. It is a very peaceful place ideal for people who want to stay away from the hustle bustle of Dharamshalla/ Mcleodganj. We booked into the suite which was pricey but very large and comfortable. The views from the balcony were incredible. We were quite happy to get a room with a view of the snow clad mountains infront of us and that was something which fascinated us the most. We didn't know that Naddi is a place there and only on visit came to realise that we chose the right place to stay away from the crowd.

We were ridiculously over charged for water (150 rupi for small bottle), and for tea and veg sandwich (600 rupi). I'd expect a "5 star hotel" to have clean toilet and not stink from urina. The staff was not able to understand, and my complains answered with "write a review".
Traveler impressions of Dharamshala
We are old as such we were restricted with our movement due to hilly location. Otherwise it is enjoyable.
The real attraction is McLeodganj (8kms from Dharamshala), to see the Tibetan government / people in exile and get a whiff of their culture and traditions.
The hike to Triund and even further up to the Snowline Cafe are well worth it - its like standing near the top of the world.

Overall it was good but thanks to the staff. Construction work is still going on since they have open ed the hotel. Roads to the hotel were very narrow and parking is a big issue here. I could found scratches on my parked car that too when it was parked by the hotel staff themselves. Restaurant was very messy because of the ongoing construction work but I hope it gets ...

The hotel is good, as it has lots of activities, for kids. As i was with my family. Only i would like to suggest that they should be more clear about the child policy. Pros - it’s a new property located in a pretty secluded, isolated area. Good for those who are looking for peace and want to stay away from the hustle bustle of a city.
