We were lucky to be the only guests for 2 nights and had all the attention of the family who run this Ryokan, the daughter Aya-San was particularly helpful as she speaks descent English and gave us all the information we needed. They were kind enough to discuss the menus with us and we could almost ask for what we wanted , including English breakfast !
