the granvia hotel in hiroshima is located directly outside the station and bus terminal which makes arrival pleasantly easy. the staff are extremely helpful and polite and the rooms are clean and of decent size with nice views of the city and surrounding mountains. below the hotel you will find an excellent range of restaurants. for those who do not mind spending...

This is positioned rather as a Budget Hotel in Hiroshima, and indeed you will have slightly less amenities or facilities as a luxury hotel, however all basic standards for cleanliness and safety are met at the highest level. Staff very professional, speaking English and friendly. The building is and "feels" new, rooms feel fresh and modern, if not very large very well ...

The hotel has fantastic staff who are always helpful and always cheerful. Check in and Check out process were fast and smooth. Rooms and the bathrooms are clean. The Japanese breakfast options in the breakfast buffet are good. They western selections are limited. The hotel provides a free shuttle service from Hiroshima railway station. There is also a city bus service...

for my whole stay in japan, this hotel deserves the top rank for a budget to midrange hotel. the room is not too crowded. just what i expect from a hotel. best value for money. also, the only hotel that confirm my online booking and reserve a non-smoking room for me through e-mail. also has a good access in the major tourist spots in hiroshima. just within 1km distance...

This is a Very Convenient hotel near all major sighteseeing spots in Hiroshima. Comfortable rooms with excellent breakfast buffet (delicious !) but same food every day for the last 6 days. Our room at high floor overlooking the Hiroshima Castle and the city of Hiroshima, which was excellent and splendid. The location is 2 mins walk to Hiroshima Bus station which has...

This was so much better than staying next to Hiroshima station at a fancy hotel. Sunroute Hiroshima is one of the best situated hotels and very clean welcoming hotels in Hiroshima area. This is my third stay from overseas. Walking distance to everything that is PEACE. Just do it and base yourself from there!

This APA hotel is a new APA hotel in Hiroshima (they have another one nearer to hiroshima station) and it can be hard to find if you do not know how to navigate the underground exits from Hiroshima station, though once you get there, it's actually relatively easy. Staff was able to speak English and were kind and helpful. The room has a big TV and everything was clean,...

This hotel was sparkling new and absolutely gorgeous. Although we arrived late a night, the front desk staff were very helpful and even accommodated a change in room type for us. Staff spoke very good English and were helpful throughout our stay with suggestions and baggage storage. Breakfast, although a bit pricey was delicious with a great selection of both Western ...

This is an excellent hotel and one couldn't really ask for a better location within Hiroshima - it's within easy walking distance of the Peace Memorial Park, Hiroshima Castle, Hon-dori (the main shopping arcade) and, of course, the A-Bomb Dome. It's also well connected by city trams - two stations are very close - and it is very easy to find. JR Hiroshima Station is r...

First time booking 3pax room in hiroshima. It is AMAZING! Firstly the toilet room is separated from the shower area, so we won't fight for the washroom at night and morning. The most amazing is that it contains 1 stand up shower room and 1 separated Japanese style shower room. Therefore, at night we can have 2 pax shower at the same time but separately in two shower ...

I like the hotel service and location. This is the first hotel that we stayed for our trip. After a very long hour travelling from singapore and transit at KL, then took the bullet train from osaka to hiroshima and transfer to local train to majiyama station, it was very tired. Fortunately, the hotel is located near to the majiyama station. We arrived there about 1...

Stayed here on our honeymoon and selected this one for its proximity to the Peace Park. After a bit of misunderstanding on arrival (I had accidentally selected 1 adult when booking) we were checked in with minimal hassle. The room was great and was our largest sized hotel room of our whole time in Japan. The location is what makes this hotel, the light rail stops pret...

This was our favourite hotel during our 3 week holiday in Japan - we loved it over Hilton Shinjuku and Hyatt Regency Shinjuku. We stayed in the king room with view and it was magnificent. The room was spacious, functional and nicely decorated. I couldn't find a fault. The hotel also connects to Hiroshima Station via a newly built bridge that can be accessed from L2 of...

Had an amazing time at Hotel Miyajima Villa. The location can't be beat as it's directly in front of the ferry terminal. The rooms are very spacious, decorated beautifully, and everything looked top notch. The onsen has an amazing (albeit partially foggy/reflective) view of the water. The staff were by far the most courteous and helpful out of all the 7 hotels we staye...

We loved this hotel. We stayed 5 nights and were sad to leave the comfort of our cosy and clean room. The staff were super helpful and speak a little English. Breakfast was cheap at 620Yen and was a selection of house made Japanese fair served in the lovely dining room each day. This hotel is fantastic value for money and the rooms are a typical small room but well pla...

my husband and i stopped by at hiroshima on the way to kyoto last november. we just booked the hotel by chance since we did not know which hotel in hiroshima is the best. to our amaze, we never expected to experience a beautiful stay in this hotel. it was only one night and we arrived a little bit late that day but the receptionists at the counter were very helpful and...

Simple is the Key !! I do not usually leave comments on website during my trip but my stay in Santiago Guest House in Hiroshima was simply Great. Best experience. Nice hotel with nice staff. It's about a 5 minute walk from Hiroshima station and easy to find. Nearest streetcar station is about a 2-3 minute walk away giving easy access to the whole city. 7-Eleven is close by as well. The price was a little high but still ok for Japan, but the room was also slightly larger than normal hotels. The staff were able to give me eve...

a 2-year old hotel with friendly and helpful front staff .when i needed assistance to call a hotel in hiroshima to retrieve some personal items left there inadvertently, they offered to do that for me. the traditional japanese dinner costing yen per pax and service rendered were excellent. room was perfect-- very spacious and yukatas and pajamas provided . rooms are ...

Note for travelers booking this hotel: There are 2 Urbain Hiroshima Hotels in the city, on opposite sides. So if you use google maps to find it you may well end up at the wrong one, as we did! Other than that, this hotel is a very good choice for accessing the major destinations in Hiroshima. Access to the street car or subway is roughly 5 min on foot. The A bomb d...

we mainly just used the hotel for sleep and naps. the location is great right next to the main hiroshima train station. hotel staff is very nice. my pregnant wife needed an extra pillow and it was brought up in 10 mins. the hotel room is quite small, compared to western hotels, but this is japan and the price is right.

We missed our first night as the ferry was cancelled due to a typhoon but that meant we stayed for the whole of the next day on the island. It is so beautiful and plenty to see, kids went up the ropeway and said that was impressive though the one who came down the nature trail was surprised when he met a couple of snakes. Saw a new-born deer prancing excitedly on its ...

Great place to stay on Miyajima. Recommend staying overnight on Miyajima rather than just doing the daytrip from Hiroshima. Outdoor onsen was beautiful - even caught sight of deers on the woods while soaking in there. Traditional rooms. Dinner was served in the restaurant. Breakfast had Japanese and Western food.

My adult daughter enjoyed our 4 nights at the Urbain Hiroshima Hotel. The staff had especially prepared a detail information booklet in English on things to do in Hiroshima. That was very helpful. We especially appreciated the breakfast room which was available 24 hours for free hot and cold drinks, plus the use of a microwave for self catering. Using the room key ...

Stayed as a couple for one night in the twin room. Was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room on entering - it was like staying in an actual apartment with a proper corridor, segregated bathroom and toilet, a living space and two large beds. There was even a balcony with chairs and table. Kitchenette was a great feature even though we didn't do any cooking. It wa...

Pros - The dinners included and served in our room were fantastic. The hotel shuttle was helpful. The location and the island are beautiful. We climbed Mt. Misen which was very scenic. It takes some time to reach Hiroshima from here (at least an hour to an hour and a half). The hotel's facilities are somewhat dated but the staff is very gracious and kind.

I only stayed in Hiroshima for one night so I needed something cheap and close to Hiroshima station. I booked 1 hour before I arrived and it was a great choice! K’s hostel is less than 10 minutes walk from the station (take the South Exit and underpass or you’ll be lost in a maze trying to cross the road at street level!). It’s also 1 minute from the tram that goes str...

I have nothing bad to say about the ANA hotel in Hiroshima. The rooms were very comfortable, the staff was very helpful, I believe I was basically able to walk anywhere that I was going from the hotel without having to bother with cabs (since they tend to be expensive in Japan). On top of that, the price was really affordable. Additionally, you get free breakfast co...

Great location - a short 10min walk to Hiroshima JR station and also downtown Hondori street. You can choose to walk to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Hiroshima Castle or you can take a short bus ride. GoogleMap will provide the details to the bus services to hop on. The hostel is clean and there are no bugs. Breakfast is toast. Lots of free coffee. It is next to the Peace Park. There are restaurants if you walk to them 10 min. Some are nearby but did not look appetizing. Ask where the mall is. It is quiet place and well run overall. Would stay again as places in Hiroshima are not cheap.

The place is absolutely welcoming, with very comfy facilities and a nice and quiet feel. It's right next to the peace park monuments, and not far from the city center and train station. They gave me some great advice from the very beginning, with information on the typhoon that was approaching so that I could plan my next few days accordingly. In addition, they were ve...

The overall ambiance is really nice and the staff are friendly. Location is also short walks to popular Hiroshima sightseeing spots. Feels new and really clean. We stayed in their semi-private room, which is just like 4-5 rooms per floor. It has tatami mats and futons that are easy to assemble, and that's everything in the room already. The walls are private but not f...

Booked last minute on a day trip down to Hiroshima and had one of the best hostel experiences of my life. It's simple, affordable accommodation with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The reception staff told me the hostel had reopened after remodeling three weeks before my stay and the quality of the fitout is outstanding. The rooms and bathrooms were spotle...

At first I booked this hostel for 2 nights , and eventually booked additional 3 nights because the hostel is just simply amazing! Staff were excellent and most importantly the cleanliness was top notch, truly value for money. It is walking distance to the atomic bomb dome as well as one of starting point of Hiroshima Hondori Shopping Arcade. I promise you won't regret ...

If I have the opportunity to visit hiroshima again, I would still opt for SimpleStay to become my home. It's near a convenience store (Lawton), 5-minute walk to the Peace Monument, with free coffee, table tennis for exercise, and meet an accommodating staff.

Clean room w nice sheets comfy bed and quiet and good air conditioning. Front desk staff is always smiling. Coin laundry for 100yen is cheap. Location is superb near ferry and near train station. Price is very reasonable. Wifi very good..The best I've stayed compared to hostels in Hiroshima city.

I thought it would be kind of scary for me because it also opens bar, but they are separated! It is very clean and quiet. I often lost my way in the building because there are lots of rooms and doors 🤣. They have elevator so, it is very perfect! Thank you Red Helmet!

I considered other budget hotels in Hiroshima before I booked for CUBE. Turns out that its the best capsule hotel stay for me. Strategically located in front of tram station. Facility is superbly clean. Their system is just perfect. Everything at a reasonable price.

It’s located in a small street near some kind of shopping area, quite near from the streetcar station (around 150 meter). Around 10 minute walks to the peace park memorial. The hostel located on top of Scandinavian cafe and bar. I stayed in the woman’s dorm on the second floor. It has its own toilet, sink and spaces for luggage. But the shower room is in 3rd floor. Th...

Rented a private tatami room for my father and I during our visit to Hiroshima and miyajima. It was less than half the cost of staying in Hiroshima and the room was much bigger than anything in the city. It was only a 30 minute train ride to peace memorial park. There are a few restaurants around the hotel within walking distant. Many restaurants 5 mi utes away via tra...

1. The guesthouse is located only 5min walking distance from the nearest Hiroden (streetcar) station - Dobashi. Nearby there is a super market which sell almost everything basic that we needed. Walkable to Hiroshima Peace Park with 10 to 15min walking distance. 2. Common area is great, a comfortable sofa and a big dining table, and well arrange and clean kitchen. 3. ...

If travelling in winter, I do not recommend. I slept with a duvet, two fleece blankets, long underwear, Panama pants, two shirts, and a sweater, just to stay warm. Otherwise it was fine. There is nothing particularly special about this place but it checks all the boxes for a place that's relatively cheap but is a private room and bathroom. Rooms are small but clean. Th...
One of most good choice for Japanese traditional stay experience~! But, it's too far from central Hiroshima and this temple should be change a cleaner~!!! Anyway, if you stay this temple, you can get what is Japanese traditional japanese room and temple.

It's my first time in Japan and the first hostel i booked was this. Friendly and helpful staffs. They let me kept my luggage cause i arrived before check in time. The location is near to Hiroshima train station, i have no problem in finding my way back and forth. I stayed in all-female dormitory which is nice and clean. Enough space to do my prayer (i'm a muslim). N...

The guest house is really nice, owner speak english and are always happy, they are the best in japan. I spent a couple of night there and when i leave that place i really miss them. Private shower and no problem with tattoos, in the night the first floor is a bar and is quite funny place. Really near to train station (not hiroshima) and near to all things you want to d...

Pros: new, extremely clean, contemporary Japanese design, dual pane windows for sound proofing, great location, stylish place, very quiet inside, location excellent for shopping, restaurants and museums. Room can fit three adults comfortably. Beds are big enough to fit two adults. Has stairs and an elevator to bring luggage up and a cool rooftop view. Con: none I woul...

i only stayed there for three days but it was indeed the best hotel that I've ever stayed during the trip. Located right next to the JR station with less than 3-minute's walk which was very convenient for travellers. Very clean and tidy that I felt like I was staying in a 4 or 5-star hotel. The price was incredibly cheap that I didnt expect its high quality. If u are g...

the guesthouse provides almost all the necessities and possesses a perfect location. You can get access to both Itsukushima Shrine and Miyajima Ferry Port in a blink from there. But beware, all of the shops in Miyajima island will close around 5PM, and there are not so many choices of restaurants for budget travellers so u might want to enjoy your dinner elsewhere in t...

After I screwed up my first attempt at booking a cheap place in Hiroshima, my son found my this one for me. It was a last minute booking, I got the last room and was grateful. It was just a few blocks from the Peace Park, easy to get to on a single tram ride from the train station and best of all, it was cheap and had lots of extras. I arrived before 9 am, they stored ...

Excellent place to stay. The room was a great size with 2 beds. It has a little kitchen with the basics in it like a kettle and microwave. The bathroom was perfect. We have been to Hitoshima to visit the Dome and Miyajima and we stayed 1 night at this hotel. First of all, the location is close to the Dome and to the rebuilded Hiroshima Castle, and also very close to a tram line connecting both the Railway Station and Miyajima Ferry. And as a bonus it is also in the middle of Hiroshima's shopping district with plenty of stores and...

You really can't beat the views of Mt Fuji, we went for one of the rooms and although it was cloudy when we arrived, we woke up with a clear sky and a great view. The in room onsen is great and the room overall is spacious and very comfortable. The hotel staff is super nice with a good enough level of english. Food was great. Definitely would recommend this place, one ...

Wow. From the time we got off the ferry from Hiroshima I was impressed with this hotel. The hotel’s shuttle was right outside the ferry terminal. Their very polite driver took our bags and we rode in their clean and comfortable van to the hotel in 5-10 minutes. When we arrived to the hotel we were greeted by again very polite staff who took our bags and guided us t...

The hotel itself was great, nothing to complain about really. Nice big room, good mattress, clean and beautiful decoration. They even were so nice to give us a lift to the ferry. Not cheap comparing to the average hotel prices in Hiroshima, but one of the best options on the island. Too early check out and a little walk uphill from the ferry, like 10 min or less.
5-star hotels in Hiroshima

It was a good location right in the middle of the busy downtown shopping area. One can casually stroll to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park under 20 mins. Lawson right at the corner. And despite the prime location we did not have problem with noise at night. The place was clean enough for a couple of days stay. Just note there is only 1 shower and 3 toilets for the 3...

It's overpriced, dishonest owner. First gave me a lower price then gave me another higher one, after I complained to Agoda, it was even higher! Poor service, everything provided is the cheapest and from Daiso. Poor quality of quilts and noisy at night because window is facing the road. I suffered terrible skin problem after staying there for seven nights. Should ge...

This is the perfect place from which to explore Hiroshima. The property contains everything needed and can sleep a very large group. Very easy checkin and checkout. A few mins walk to catch a bus or visit the Peace Memorial Park. Highly recommend this property!!
Traveler impressions of Hiroshima
small city, esay to access all sight seeing points, very convenience for the tourist by using the one tour bus.
all intersting points are nearby, buy one day tram tickets can cover all places, small city, easy to go around
very good electrical train, one day pass is 400 yen, stop all sigth seeing points... very convenience!
Due to it's historical background, this place is very peaceful and calm. Learnt about the distructable war and the importance of peace among humanity.
Tired out by the hotel staff 's way of checking in so did not bother to explore Hiroshima at all ! Hotel was old , dirty and and smelly with an expensive price paid for a standard twin NON SMOkING floor that turned out to be a dissappointment .
Two full days and we saw museums , and a lot of history. Beautiful shrine, beach. Lot to see and do. Lovely ferry ride.
Besides the atomic bomb remembrance sites, which one has to visit, the city more to offer. Also the area around is worth a visit.
it is a neat and clean historic city with cultural heritage spots. transportation facilities are good
I recommend a stroll in the park outside the peace museum and an ice cream at the Italian restaurant at the bridge.
will definitely go back, as it was so cold when i was there, so wish to go back when i can really internalize that I was in the place where history was made.
Hiroshima is both a powerful and beautiful experience. The city and its people are amazing, and it is a deeply moving experience to visit such a vibrant city just a short 70 years after the tragedy of the Hiroshima A Bomb.
Open spacious city with interesting historical sights. Well planned so it is easy to get around with your JR pass on the loop buses provided
A beautiful place! So beautiful in fact I will be returning from Australia in December (just visited in August) I cannot give a better recommendation than that!
I liked Hiroshima. It is a city with rich history. Locals are very friendly. Don't miss Miyajima, which is 35min away by boat.
Hiroshima is a beautiful area in Japan, and is definitely worth a visit if you are heading to Japan. I would reccomend stay in Hiroshima for at least 4 or 5 days, but you could certainly spend a few more days there taking in the sights.
Hiroshima is a great vantage point for not just the pPeace museum and memorial but also a great base for exploring the local coastline including Miyajima island and Itsukushima shrine.
Hiroshima has terrible history but now it is the best relaxible place in japan. day trip to miyajima at evening is strongly recommanded.
1-3 days good enough for this clean, efficient and friendly city. I used it as a base for Miyajima and Okayama and Himeji.
There is not much to do in this city but the area dedicated to the atomic blast and disarm of all nuclear warfare is an eye opener.
The UNESCO world heritage site, Hiroshima Bomb Dome is a must visit place. The autumn season give a very beautiful scenery to this area.
very clean and friendly, easy to get around with their public transport system, the Peace Park is very impressive and moving
Everyone goes to Hiroshima as it is the site of the first atomic bomb attack. We go to Peace Park, look at the distinctive T bridge that identified Hiroshima as the target, look at the remains of the Dome, go to the Museum.
The Nuclear Bomb History in Hiroshima is a must go sightseeing point. This history made this city more specific to visit.
This was my second time to Hiroshima and I really enjoyed it again. My first time was spent exploring the area, the Peace Memorial Park and Museum, and also going over to Miyajima.
Hiroshima is home to, and close to, some of the most important locations in Japan. If you're visiting Hiroshima proper, I would definitely recommend stopping by for the Peace Park and Museum, visiting the Genbaku Dome, and going out a few nights for shopping downtown / eating some of the local Hiroshima-Yaki (there is a giant complex with many different restaurants / styles to choose from).
Hiroshima is a very easy city to get around, we hired bicycles and visited most attractions in the city including Hiroshima castle.
It teaches you perfect lessons about the use of atomic bombs, so very intersting to visit as parents with some older children.
This is a comparably more relaxing city than other big city like Tokyo or Osaka. Its worth visiting the city with a short half day trip to Miyajima Island.
The two major attractions of Hiroshima are the Peace Park, with the Peace Memorial Museum, and the Shinto shrine (Itsukushima Shrine) on an offshore island, Miyajima, both Unesco World Heritage sites.
Make sure to go see the A Bomb Dome at night. The lights are shining on the ruins and there is a great calmness over the whole area.

A great new hotel in Hiroshima. After taking the bus 1 hour from Hiroshima airport to Hiroshima Bus Center - you need to walk around 15 minutes with your bags to the hotel. Most people want to stay near the Atomic Bomb Dome area and I thought this hotel would be closer but i...

The hotel was great. The room was just normal, no view, two beds, a desk and a small bathroom with a bathtub, nothing spectacular or that would explain the high price (for me), but the bed was really comfy, the public bath in the 2nd floor was a real treat and the breakfast (included) was great. I go to Hiroshima every year and I always stay at this hotel. There are more expensive, more salubrious hotels in Hiroshima, but the New Hiroden is convenient, friendly and very good value. It also has very comfortable beds. Be warned however, if you are a solo traveller staying in a single room, these rooms are REALLY tiny. If you are large of stature you should defin...

I was very impressed with this hotel. (1) It is located across the road from the JR Hiroshima Station and there is a walkway over the road. (2) The staff were very helpful and patient. (3) The hotel was only opened a month ago, so everything looks brand new, (3) The rooms are the biggest I have encountered with luxurious tap fittings including a large separate rai...

Great location - a short 10min walk to Hiroshima JR station and also downtown Hondori street. You can choose to walk to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Hiroshima Castle or you can take a short bus ride. GoogleMap will provide the details to the bus services to hop on. Our room was a pleasant surprise! There was a nice sitting area overlooking the river by the ho...

Conveniently located within walking distance to the Hiroshima train station where there is lots of food options around. Staff was very friendly. Room was a bit small but that is typical of most hotels in Japan. Very clean and would definitely stay here again.

We spent four nights at the Hotel Pacific Hiroshima this past week. We arrived on the train just before midnight, and, with the help of kind strangers, were able to walk to the hotel in just over 15 minutes. The pleasant man at the reception desk spoke decent English, but advised us that he was the only person at the hotel who could and that he would by off duty for t...

The hotel is not located directly on Miyajima Island, but rather nearby. There is a shuttle that runs to the nearest metro station during a set period of time each day. In general the staff is pretty helpful. However, walking from the nearest metro stop to the hotel may take around 10-18 minutes. Also, there is no wifi in the individual rooms but only in the lobby. Th...

The single rooms here are great value and very well-equipped. Check-in was smooth and the included breakfast (rare in Japan) was varied and fresh. There's a bus stop right outside the building - which is actually a massive conference centre or banqueting hall or something - or you could walk into town if you don't have heavy bags. A solid option in Hiroshima.

More about Hiroshima
Peace Memorial Park in the city center is a collection of moving, often heartbreaking museums and memorials. The Children's Peace Monument is perhaps the most sobering as it immortalizes Sadako, a young girl and victim of fallout. As Hiroshima was rebuilding, Sadako inspired the entire city through her quest to fold 1,000 origami cranes. An old saying states that a person who folds this many cranes gets a single wish granted. Sadako never finished her thousandth crane – she got to 644 before leukemia took her life, but she lives on in Hiroshima's very real quest to end nuclear armament.
Hiroshima Castle was rebuilt in the 1950s after being destroyed by the bomb. The grounds boast hundreds of sakura trees, which are lovely in the springtime. The castle is located near Chuo Park and operates an interesting museum. Several other parks and temples on the fringes of the city are wonderful daytrip destinations.
Intense ground-up construction has yielded some truly remarkable hotels near Hiroshima. These are planted throughout the central district, as well as near Hiroshima Airport. This domestic terminal serves several prominent cities in Japan.
