Traveler impressions of Huangshan

More about Huangshan

Travelers seeking natural respite in China will find paradise in Huangshan. Translated to mean Yellow Mountains, this mountain range has made it onto the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is one of the country’s major tourist destinations. The scenic area’s main entrance is near the town of Tangkou and can only be accessed via a shuttle bus. The nearest airport is Huangshan Tunxi International Airport.

Huangshan is dominated by granite peaks draped in pine trees. There are more than a thousand kinds of plants and hundreds of animals. Many of the trees have unique names like the Welcoming Guest or Seeing-off Guest Pines. There are 36 separate peaks that have been represented in typical Chinese paintings throughout history. There are great opportunities for hiking and getting in some cardio with a number of trails and more than 60,000 steps. The entirety of the scenic area is gorgeous with its attractive scenery. A few areas that deserve a special mention include Lotus Peak, Narrow Cliff, Cloud-dispelling Pavilion, and White Goose Ridge.
