Best hotels & accommodations in Keelung

A lovely clean room (but no window). Taiwan is a very humid place and some hotels smell musty. Not Keebe! Keebe was extraordinarily clean. One of the best hotels we've stayed at in Taiwan. The location is central to shops and restaurants as well as Keelung Harbor. The night market is simply around the corner....how's that for convenience?

We are living in Taiwan for two years and on the weekends we take mini trips. We always try to pick a top hotel and then we go and enjoy being waited on. We have had some great experiences and very few trips that we did not like. This weekend we visited some little towns and villages north of Taipai and decided to get a hotel in Keelung. It was a great trip...

The hotel is very centrally located near the station, port and night market, and the rooms are clean and comfortable with a large bathtub. There is a comfortable lounge with coffee and other drinks, but not much else in the way of facilities. I was able to park my motorbike right outside overnight with no issues, and the staff were friendly and efficient. I would hap...

Though room size is small, but cleanly equipped with all neccesities that you would need during travel. We were backpacking so, it was easy walk from Keelung train station. Very easy to catch local buses to Juifen, Ruifang, etc or for walking to shops, local food stalls, restaurants, ramen shops, temples, parks, harbor front, night market. It is kind of boutique hot...

We just spent one night in Keelung, but our choice to stay in Herb Art Hotel still feels very good. We went by foot from the train station and back. The staff was super friendly and helpful, explaining directions in pretty good English. The breakfast was not as abundant as maybe in Europe but that's not the standard in Taiwan anyway. They had eastern and western style ...

Harbor View Hotel in Keelung is near the Metro. You can travel to Jiufen by bus 788 which will took you about an hour. Or to Shifen by train in Keelung train station. After going through both places, head back to the hotel for a nice shower before heading to the nearby night market for dinner.

By far this is the best hostel stay during my trip to Taiwan. The room is nice with good accommodations. The breakfast is the best to our comparison with other hostels. A few minutes walk (simply turn left and then turn right) to the Keelung Train Station as well as Bus Station is a breeze for transfer either by Taiwan Tourist Bus to visit all the coastal destinations ...

Location wise you need to google your way. Take about 7-8 mins walk from KeeLung train station. Once you out from train station you will see the overhead bridge. Cross the road the head to your left, you should be able to see the harbour on your opposite side . Walk straight till you see McDonald then turn right and you will see Keelung night market street. the hotel ...

we paid for two nights but they told us to get our things out after 12:00 to 20:00 after the first night, I had to complain seriously not to pay and not to take our things out. the motel is very nice except some not clean sofas and the sex toys in the wardrobe (what if a baby sees it?) for its beauty and high level should be an hotel not a motel. they also offered us t...

The view from the hotel windows is simply spectacular. You can see the blue Pacific Ocean, green mountains and the golden town of Jiufen. The location is just perfect: next to Badouzi Marina and the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology, with many restaurants and cafes in the vicinity. The room was spacious and nicely furnished. The staff was nice and frien...

Has a sketchy feeling to it, not the best place for family travelers (beware when flicking through TV channels). It was just a place for us to sleep the night (couldn't find other accommodation in Keelung). The place looks old and the rooms do have a hint of smoke smell, but our room was generally clean. The staff were really friendly and eager to help. Location was p...

Location is overall pretty good, in the heart of Keelung, close to the wharf and night market, but it is down a small alley, which can make it somewhat difficult to find. Check-in staff were polite and very helpful with parking (actually came with us and rode in the car to direct us to the parking lot, since downtown Keelung is pretty hectic), laundry and directions. ...

I had a peaceful time in Hua Du Hotel! The staff were nice and very accommodating (in a motherly way). The room was clean and the city view from my window is so nice! The hotel is also right beside the Keelung Miaokou Night Market and very close to the harbour. It's a great place to stay in when in Keelung. ✨

Gwodoo hotel more like the voodoo hotel. the hotel was dirty and creepy, as soon as you get in I got the willies from the staff and its surroundings/ambiance. We were lucky enough to escape with out any spells or witch craft thrust upon us during our stay (not all visitors are as lucky). the voodoo hotel was dirty and weird but it is possibly the cheapest stay in kee...

Traveler impressions of Keelung
When it's not raining I just like to take an hour or two to just sit and watch the harbor. There's always something going on there.
Keelung is a sea port city visited by the Genting Star cruise liner. It is located in the north east part of the Taiwan island.
Keekung owns a nice location. It's possible to enjoy beaches, mountains and rivers in this region by driving only about 30 mins.
It's a beautiful town and people there are very helpful, i would say as generally, Taiwanese are very helpful and nice.
scenic hilltop views of port/ city, great food at night markets, try the tasty dumpling/bao shop with queues round the clock
Keelung is a very local and simple city with all delicious Taiwanese foods gather at one place. If you love a simple local life, Keelung is a must visit area in Taiwan.
The night market was great. Also took a day trip up the north West coast to Yeleu Coastal Park which was well worth the trip.
Small city with a well organised night market. A great base for visiting places in the northwest and northen coast of Taiwan.
Keelung is a place that is easily accessible to a lot of sightseeing location. Especially to beach and some mountain areas.

More about Keelung
Once in Keelung, the best way to get to know the city is by going where the locals go, and one of the most popular destinations is the famous Miaokou Night Market. Exploring the many things on offer at this market can take up at least a few hours of fun, which can be extended with a few drinks and dinner at one of the many stalls that line the market streets.
For a breath of fresh air and outdoor activities, head to Zhongzheng Park for a picnic or simple people-watching. The locals often spend lazy weekend afternoons strolling around the park, or taking evening breaks on the grass after a busy day in the city. Whatever the reason for visiting Keelung, one will find enough distractions and interesting excursions to make the trip worthwhile.
