Not very inspiring. If it was not situated close to the lake and backwaters, I would not think visiting it was such a good idea.
We were disappointed that we couldn't go inside the Coconut Lagoon, although we were happy to visit the churches in Kumarakom.
We were told it is a beautiful place but it didn't live up to our expectations.
There is a museum of driftwood. It is a collection of drift woods from Andaman Nicobar islands which have become fossils and been shaped as animals and figures.
It is a unique exhibition collected, shaped and preserved by a single woman Raji Cherian with the encouragement from her husband. It is worth a visit.
Kumarakom is on the countryside and known for its backwater abundance, house boat cruise and laidback lifestyle
