Discover the neighborhoods of Leeds
Located in West Yorkshire, within a short drive of the famous vacation town of Harrogate and the ancient city of York, Leeds is a refreshingly lively metropolitan city that is more famous for its shopping and nightlife than it is for its museums and monuments. The city is served by Leeds-Bradford International Airport, which connects Leeds to the rest of the world very well, and is conveniently located close to the city center and among many hotels.
Most visitors to Leeds make their way to Millenium Square for one reason or another, as this is where the life of the city really takes place. The square is where festivals, concerts, organized gatherings, and unorganized public meetings take place. It’s also the perfect place to get to know some of the locals, and see how the population interacts with one another and with their city, as well as being the perfect place for finding out about events or destinations nearby.
Each November through January, in the city center and kicking off at the Victoria Gardens, the city puts on the Christmas Illuminations show. This is the largest Christmas lights display in the country, and one of the most popular festivals in the city, drawing crowds of locals and visitors alike year after year.
