Tides River Lodge was amazing as far as the setting went. However my husband and I were the only occupants of the entire complex and there was one young chap on site to help. The only downside was the road to and from any where. Whilst we were aware that we would need to travel along gravel road, the problem was that vehicles had carved out a track but the centre bit was raised and we had a small car whose underside kept scrapping the central bit which meant we had to drive off centre. We were fortunate that it was dry. The kitchen was fully equipped but we had not taken any provisions and were reluctant to go back to purchase any and so made do with the snack bars and tea we had in our possession. The place lacked a hair drier but other than that was fine. In summary a great location amazing views of sunset and sunrise just the access road was a bit scary.

Working farm stay, isolated location. Difficult to get to, but near the park for visiting. Milk in fridge but no other farm products. Garden faced the farm yard so no private outside space.
