Margaret River hotels & places to stay

We were very pleased when we entered the room as the rooms are well-designed. We booked the special access room as we have young kids and thought it would be better if we do not have stairs in the room. It was a wise decision. The bathroom was very spacious and there was a spa bath tub and a standing shower in the bathroom. The king size bed was enough to sleep 2 adults and 2 young kids. We rented dvds to watch. The kitchenette was also well-equipped and they even provided us with 2 high chairs for our kids. Great central location as it is close to everything you need in Margaret River town. Be it supermarkets (coles, IGA, woolsworth), eateries or target. Do visit Margaret River Bakery that is just across the road if you stay there. It’s a wonderful place for breakfast. The only downside was the weak WIFI that kept disconnecting. We ended up not using the WIFI at all during our 2 night stay. Apparently, the network is affected due to re-wiring. Still, highly recommended!

This motel has all that a visitor could want and need at an affordable price. From the warm welcome we received on arrival to the fantastic well appointed motel room we stayed in this place is the best we have ever stayed at in Margaret River. The restaurant with its warm fire place is the spot to park yourself after a day of indulgence at the wineries, brew houses, chocolate factories and cheese factories of the Margaret River region. We will definitely be staying here again.

We arrived fairly late at 630pm, after visiting the vineyards in Margaret river. The reception was friendly and had upgraded us from a studio to a 2-bedroom. The rooms were very clean, spacious and very comfortable. Beds had electric blankets and we had very good sleep on them. The rooms are equipped with cooking pots and utensils, so you can cook here. However, you will have to get your own oil, salt and pepper. The only thing I would change is the rectangular handles on the drawers and cabinets which can be quite sharp. I think the best part is that grand ocean views are just round the corner from the resort. For example, at white elephant cafe near gnarubup beach, ocean view road and the surfer's point look out. The ocean views simply take my breath away. You don't really have any shops nearby so you will have to stock up from the supermarket in town before going over. There is one restaurant at the resort. However, you may need to drive out a distance if you do not want to eat there for dinner. I think having a car is quite necessary if you want to stay here. We used the resort as a base to move out to several vineyards, up north and down south. It is also quite close to the sunflower farm, which my daughter really enjoyed. Overall, the resort is conveniently located for our needs. Very comfortable stay and near to great ocean views. Will come back again.

We loved our stay at Margaret River Hideaway & Farmstay, this place was even better than the reviews. The farm is a short 5 minute drive from town but feels like another world! We stayed in the studio and it was spacious, spotless and well equipped (including a welcome bottle of wine and the most delicious Orange Juice ever!). The Manager Lisa was extremely helpful with accommodating our check-in time, giving great suggestions on where to dine and only ever a phone call or SMS away to help. The animals on the farm were the most loved animals I'd ever seen, they looked in pristine condition and were so happy. The highlight of our stay was seeing them all line up in the morning for a feed. Margaret River Hideaway & Farmstay would be perfect for longer term guests due to the location, value and amenities. We are definitely staying here next time we are in the region!

We were a 12-person family with young kids staying in 4 different rooms. The accommodation was everything we needed for our 4 night stay at Margaret River. The varying rooms suited each family's needs though our favourite was room 9 (2 bedroom suite) as it was spacious enough for everyone to hang out and had a full kitchen! Location was fantastic! Woolworths was just 2min away. Drift Cafe (3min away, 10% discount) had great food and coffee! Being in Margaret River, the rooms were equipped with drinking glasses which suited us well :)

Excellent stay. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for an accommodation to hop on to winery tours in Margaret River. Absolutely love Morries Anytime, which is just a stone-throw away from the accommodation.

Spent three nights here in a two-bedroom apartment during a Thanksgiving Holiday visit to Australia with my wife and young adult daughters. The apartment was well furnished and had a great view of the ocean from the second floor balcony. The resort is within walking distance of the beach in Gnarabup, a mile from Prevelly Beach, and 15 minutes from Margaret River. We found it to be a superb base for exploring the wine region and enjoying the coast. We hope to return for a longer stay..

We arrived not sure of what to expect from a bushland retreat but we need not have been concerned! Our cottage number 6 excelled our expectations and was self contained with great facilities, even a gas fired bbq on the porch. The open plan sitting / kitchen / diner was spacious and there was a welcome package of Margaret river wine, cereals, milk, orange juice and bread. Spotlessly clean throughout and the bedroom was ample with a second available if you needed for family or friends (extra cost). We used the bbq on all 3 nights and ate at the table outside on the porch. After dinner on the first night I went onto a nearby track to explore and was suddenly joined by 2 kangaroos who bounded by 2 metres in front of me, stopped, stared then bounded off again but I did get some photo's before they did. Our stove igniter didn't work but matches were provided so no problem. A wonderful stay and would happily return to experience this idyllic place.

We revisited Caves House after 28 years and were charmed back then. But now it has undergone an enormous renovation which is sympathetic to its heritage listing. There are fewer rooms now and I think we had the best room (Room 1 - keep it a secret) - it had a lounge, bedroom with King Size bed and an amazing ensuite with a spa bath which overlooked the magnificent garden and had an ocean view. It also had access to an extensive balcony which you shared with two other rooms where you could relax and enjoy the view. When I say 'old world charm' I not only refer to the architecture but one evening we were treated pre-dinner to a couple of hours of a jazz singer accompanied by the grand piano in the foyer area. The other night we were able to sample local wares with a night market coming to the hotel and indulged in the artisan chocolates and pastries. We also walked through the gardens along the 'ghost trail' to get to the beach and felt like I had been swept back to the 1930s. Enjoy.

Stayed in the deluxe cabin. Staff were excellent. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Close enough to main strip in Margaret River. Great value!

We loved the isolated location, views of the sea, wildlife in the garden, proximity to all the best places of the Margaret River region. Comfortable fully self-contained apartments with good facilities. Perfect for couples, but really good for families.

The Dunsborough Motel was exactly what we wanted. It was affordable accomodation and located at the start of the Margaret River region in the heart of Dunsborough. The room was clean and spacious. We had a dining table and microwave and fridge in our room. It was nothing fancy but we were surprised at some negative reviews. For the rate per night it was top notch.

hidden away from the bustle of the margaret river main drag this was a perfect respite for a weary couple and a baby - silence only broken by the kookaburras, watching the possums eating the carrot we left out, spying wild kangaroos on drive way - paradise!

We had a great one night stay- was more like staying over at a friends villa than a hotel room. We stayed in the Shiraz room - had its own spa outdoor patio which was enclosed with a gate for pool access. Perhaps not the best for privacy as you could hear the guests in their patios. Everything in Yallingup mostly closes up after 5pm but this place offered a great little patio area to BBQ a meal and supplied all plates and cutlery. There was a nice sitting room with inbuilt fire, books and games plus a balcony with chairs & tables to eat your meal or breakfast ( you have to order breakfast the day before & you can order cocktails between 12-4pm but apart from that is self-catering) overlooking the bush. There was a keyboard too and we enjoyed listening to another guest playing for about half an hour. With only a few rooms, it was a lovely stay away from people for a bit of romance and relaxation. There was a couple bikes they let the guests use too. Only con for us was while there was an overhead fan in the room, there was no air con or even a screen on the door so as to sleep with it open so after a warm day, the room was a little stuffy but not uncomfortably so.

We have tried all 3 locations at Smiths Beach over the years, and like this one best: top location near the beach at a lower cost compared to the more expensive Smiths Beach Resort.

A lovely break in a beautiful place. It is situated in the perfect location to explore Margaret River and staff are really helpful in directing you to the best spots. A really cosy and comfortable chalet with great views. Couldn't have been better!

We booked one of the nicer rooms at the back with the view of the forest, and it was beautiful. Woke up to the scenic beauty of the karri trees, my friends went out for a walk in the early morning and enjoyed themselves, and the room was in such close vicinity to the main town. It was on the same road, in fact! Breakfast was meh. I liked that they had local produce like the Margaret River cheese, yoghurt, toasts, and cereal. We were looking forward to something more savoury though, even a little eggs perhaps. But all in all, we had a fabulous time in Margaret River. Best thing about the room was the spa tub, where you can also open the sliding window at the side linking to the room, and watch the telly! :D

Hi everyone and your lovely cat, "You"? Haha She was absolutely lovely and she came to visit us in our Merlot room which was great because we love cats! We had a wonderful stay and we felt spoilt having the shared lounge area and kitchenette so we could make a cup of tea. Our room was lovely and cosy which was great with the cold weather! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. We are so glad we were able to stay with you. Our daughter organised our booking as she had stayed with you before and was very impressed. We hope to be able to come down to Margaret River again and hopefully stay for longer next time. We only had a couple of days free this time after attending a wedding in Pemberton. This place was relaxing and decadent with stunning views, a great spa that overlooked the hills where you could see the sunrise, in a studio that attracted natural sunlight all day long. Each studio is intimate and quiet providing respite from the busy world. Located 10 minutes from Margaret River town, in close proximity to the wineries and restaurants. We will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottages. We were in town for a wedding, and stayed three nights in Possum cottage. The staff were very helpful on the phone, and went that extra mile to make our stay comfortable. We even found firewood and firelighters near our front door one night when it was getting a bit chilly. Cottages are in a very pretty spot, where you can watch the kangaroos grazing on the lawn at dawn and dusk. We can't wait to return!

Stayed in this cosy B&B for 2 nights. The room was fantastic: nice and clean with a big comfortable bed and the door even opens up to a nice little front porch facing a lawn. Location is in a quiet neightbourhood and a mere 2 minute walk to the main street of Margaret River town, meaning that you get access to all that the town has to offer without compromising your rest at night. Pete the owner is as friendly and accommodating as they come and the breakfast was excellent. Only slight downside for us was that the bathroom can be a little chilly at times at night. Nonetheless, would still recommend this charming B&B to anyone looking for accomodation in Margaret River.

There is walking trail right at the side of the property leading to a waterfall. Wild kangaroos around the premises makes it a real Aussie experience. Splendid place to stay.

Very nice farm and quiet place. Very nice bungalow with nice facilities like BBQ, kitchen, dish washer, wood fire place. Awesome place and highly recommended.

I love this cottage! This is the best place i stayed in for the duration of my trip. The staff where fantastic and service started once you booked with follow up driving directions. They even email to check if we required reservations for dinner. The room was cosy and warm. There is even a fireplace which came in useful since it was raining the entire time we were there.

This place was a bit hard to find as it was the 2nd floor of the restaurant. You have to check in through the restaurant and get the key from them. It's located in the town of Margaret River so you can easily go somewhere. Especially, I loved the spa bathroom! So relaxing !

Great home for holidays with the family or for three couples. Beautifully appointed with everything you could need, very comfortable and close to town, only five min walk to the Tavern, shops, restaurants.

Surprisingly, a very peaceful and quiet retreat, enable us to escape from the busy city of Hong Kong / Singapore. It feels so refreshing being able to wake up in the middle of the forest and see trees and greens in in front of you. There were birds singing outside of the villa which makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. A special design from other hotels, it consist of an older style cottage (still very well maintained) for the main / common area with a lovely fire place. As for the accommodation, the individual villas are more contemporary with an open style design. In the morning and during the day, the sun light gets into the villa and is nice and bright, giving you a feeling of positive energy and enthusiastic mood to start off the day. Margaret River itself its a beautiful wine country and Gilgara fits perfectly in the region. There are other wineries close to the Retreat and not too far away from the town centre. Overall, we had a splendid experience.

This 3bedroom villa was beautiful and super comfortable. All 3 bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and have their own reconditioning/heater. Beds come with electric blanket, perfect for the cold Spring period during our stay. Bathrooms are large and spacious too. Washer and dryer (laundry detergent provided) available which was great for us to have fresh clothes for the rest of our trip. Living room and kitchen are situated on the top floor. Lovely island right in the middle of the large space and it was a nice area to gather to chat, cook and nibble at the same time. (would have been great if there were more dish towels). The webber bbq pit in the balcony was great for our bbq dinners. It was nice to sit in the cold outside and see the sun setting while our lamb chops were sizzling! Location of villa is pretty central as well, just less than 5mins to the town centre where u can find Coles supermkt, eateries and shops. All in all, a big beautiful villa that provided us with a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Will definitely stay again if i go back to Dunsborough! :)
