Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort
Bel Ombre,Mauritius Island - View on map
"We had taken the Beach View room. Pros - Large room with big bath tub - Scenic view of Beach direct from room - very nice food - clean - friendly staff - good Beach facilities Cons - Very expensive food - TV was old and didn't have video playback from USB Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and I recommend this to anyone looking to have a nice and peaceful time in Mauritius. It is located on the South West coast so it is very calm and has beautiful Scenic views on the roads leading to nearby villages and tourist attractions. For food, you can have breakfast at the hotel and lunch and dinner at nearby restaurants which are at cycling/motorable distances as food is over priced in the hotel. The restaurants in South close by 7:30/8:00 so plan accordingly. It is best to rent a car and roam around in Mauritius."

"The location of this hotel is excellent, the sea is amazing. You can walk to Blue Bay for about 20minutes via road or beach on low tide. The staff of the hotel ready made our stay perfect, even thougt the weather was not great. I would like to personally thank the two guys that were working on our first days. You are the best! The hotel arranged Flow event for the first time, and we really liked it. "

"A warm and friendly welcome by the staff from bellhop to guest relation officer. Food quality was consistent at breakfast (room service) and lunch (buffet). It is a lovely resort with beautiful views of the sea with some pretty bird life, sharing our breakfast. My husband photographed a big green Mauritius Day gecko. Perfect location for both short or long stay in Mauritius!"

La Pirogue A Sun Resort
Wolmar,Mauritius Island - View on map
"We stayed in La Pirogue for 9 days and had our wedding ceremony there. The hotel is located on the best beach of the island - Flic en Flac and has very big territory covered with palms. As all rooms are in the separate bungalows all guests are separated by beautiful gardens and has quite a lot of space to enjoy nature. The rooms are very big and you have a lot of space inside - much more than seen on the photos. As bungalow roof is very high and shaped into triangle making room planning asymmetric and feel very special. It is very different from other hotels. Staff is very responsive and helpful, rooms are clean. For the couples that are looking forward to get married on Mauritius we would highly recommend La Pirogue because: * It is located on the west coast so you can have wedding on the sunset * It is located on the most famous and wide beach on the island * The staff in guest relations will help you to organize everything you can imagine for your special day * Royal suits with private garden are just what you'll want for your first night ;) * Scenery for the photo shots is great with hundreds of palms you'll never find anywhere on the island."

Seasense Boutique Hotel and Spa - Adults Only
Palmar Coast,Mauritius Island - View on map
"We Booked Royal Suite Room on ground floor.. which we think one of the best room you can get on this island for the price. Everything was good to excellent. The only main downsides were location and restaurant. location is only for those who do not want to go out of the resort as everything is at least 45 minutes to 1 hour from the resort. In restaurant, our main concern was we were served same buffet every morning for 5 days of our stay. Another issue we had that they were dogs roaming around.. Street dogs and even we found that one of the dog was even drinking water from the pool. This was very sick to see. On to the positives, the room layout furniture was very top end. The cleanliness was up to the mark. The staff was very courteous and there was prompt room service every time. "

LUX* Belle Mare Resort & Villas
Belle Mare,Mauritius Island - View on map
"We had four nights (three full days essentially) at Lux Belle Mare. The grounds are immaculate and you can do as little or as much as you like. We took the 'accommodation only' - food not included. This really suited us because we are not big eaters and we love to try EVERYTHING - and we went to just about every restaurant. We also went out and about, so a few 'resort meal times' were missed! The service is excellent. We had an issue with our bill on the second day. An error based on the slight language barrier. We went to the front desk and it was all sorted out without too much problem. It's great to deal with professionals! The food was excellent and we took advantage of the full range on offer. If you are on a meal plan, I don't think all restaurant food is applicable. Whilst you might get a credit amount, it's only a similar value to a single main portion. The service at the restaurants is excellent. Top quality service - without doubt. Alcohol is very very expensive. One bottle of wine low - mid range price is the same cost as two main meals. Be prepared... There is plenty to do, so take advantage of the resort facilities. Also, take the time to explore the island. Outside the resort is another world - it's called Mauritius!! The concierge organised day taxi to go to the most amazing places. You also get a chance to support the local economy and smaller businesses. All in all, a great place to stay, very expensive, excellent service, extremely friendly, fabulous grounds, great range of facilities. "
