Milano has a wealth of history, it's historic buildings, Cathedrals, etc are interesting, it has a diversity of shops, food, restaurants, cafés, it is a busy city with a police presence which makes a traveller feel safe.
It is bustling, with plenty to see, a diversity of cultural and historic experiences for a traveller. My disappointment was not to be able to view the painting of the last supper (Leonardo de Vinci) because it was booked out 3 days in advance. It is impossible for a traveller such as we to be able to know where one will be to be able to book in advance. I am sorry I will never see it.
First impression, very unfriendly people. Not one people are smiling and the hotel staff was worse. They have to switch off the main central aircon, forcing me to open the windows and got gitten all night.
Despite complain to the staff, they say that there is nothing they can do. Metropolitan staff people are worse.
Be extra careful once u are in Milano Centrale, do not trust person who offers help to carry your luggage, they ask big money later! Poor service of station's staffs :(
If you have more time, I suggest you to take Bernina Express tour St. Moritz, This tour take 13 hours trip, but really worthy even you just have 1 hour to spend in St.
Moritz but the view both during on Bernina express train and in St. Moritz will make you feel blessed because been able to see such beautiful place.
Milan was to my surprise the most beautifullest and cleanest city we visited in Italy. The city seemed calmer than all other cities and there was so much to see.
Take the time to just walk for hours and enjoy this city.
Shopping in the city was fantastic as our last stop before heading back, we did a lot of shopping both at the groceries store as well as at the designer shops.
The journey by coach from Bergamo was comfortable and efficient but like all majour cities the suburbs are somewhat grim with graffiti etc but just ignore it.
When you get to the centre you will find the friendliest people possible living La Dolce Vide. There are lots of young people around and the street fashion is brilliant. Be careful on the narrow side streets as the Prius silently creep up on you in stealth mode, The centre is flat but the roads are cobbles and have tram lines which could be a slight problem to the disabled. The food is wonderful - ask for advice from locals as to where they would eat and you will get a superb meal at a reasonable cost. If you take a taxi to the Central pick up for coaches to Bergamo airport as the distance from the drop off point to the coach is only about 100 yards but you will probably get some guy in a hi viz jacket who will drag you case for you. I gave 2 euros but he tried to demand 5 more a firm NO soon had him on hs way. Go and enjoy!
It is a beautiful city with many beautiful and historical building. A shopping heaven, price for designer brands are a lot more cheaper than in Malaysia.
We did not have enough time to window shopping as the shops here closed at 8pm. The only not so pleasant is the people dont speak fluent english and it is hard to get help for direction in case you are not sure.
Most shops outside of Milan Catheral were closed when we visited in August. It seems that only the underground railway to the World Expo was refurbished.
Other lines were still using old train carts.
You feel unsafe. Taxi drives look like zombies at Centrale. Not very polite people. Train to airport is terrible (no info, no escalators, and expensive ).
No much to see there. Good surroundings.
a lot of stylish shop in milan. I love milan more than rome. Beautiful store everywhere. You can get amazing fragrance and shoe variety choices

Nothing special, highlighly overrated and expensive, Would never visit again nor recommend it to any of my friends/family or colleagues!
Milan somehow felt unsafer than Rome though both locations demand cautious eye all the time on personal belongings when out in public.
Certain areas of Milan match the idea of the fashion cosmopolitan of the world image one thinks of when you think of the capital of Italy. Yet, there are patches of rough crowds which sometimes appear in the typical tourist places.
Its not safe to walk alone nowadays, too many beggars and immigrant in milan. Shopping district near duomo is mess, full of immigrant.
Max. 3 night would be enough here.
Sorry to say it is a snobbish city. People are not friendly and even the waiter/waitress is not helpful especially in La Rinascente.
The city is consider clean and modern. Lots of shopping. The most i like is the food. Not easy to walk with big luggage bag as the road is not flat and lots of cobblestone.
I will definitely visit Milan again!!!! It's amazingly enjoyable staying there especially foods and brand names in every corner.
Generally a nice city though the costs of living for food souvenirs seem to be a little more pricey than other cities in Italy
Definitely go visit the Galleria di Emmanuelle and Duomo di Milano. Alike other places in Europe, watch your bags and pockets.
I went to Milan for four days and mainly aim for the EXPO. I thought the transportation is convenient but not for disable.
They didn't have the elevator or escalator for going down in some Metro stations.
Milan is a city filled with many historical buildings and religious buildings too. Very fashionable city and very chic.
It is mostly enjoyable for adults. the food and the people are nice but influenced a lot by the northern neighbourhood of Italy.
Even though we only stayed in Milan for 2 nights we enjoyed it, there was beautiful things to see, great shopping.
very nice Restaurants.
We were totally impressed. Its more romantic than paris and also a shopping heaven ! what a Great city, really!!
Milan is a little snob but is appealing. Streets are clean and the shops are huge. I love to go back to Milan.
This is my kind of city with too many nice buildings and architecture.
There's always something other than shopping. Take a day trip to lake como, cinque terre, genoa. Beautifully.
... Greatest food, wine, olives!
Milan is a very good city for fashion shopping and also fine dining, Good for people who has deep pocket.
Also good place for sieghtseeng, many beautiful gardens/parks, famous Duomo where Cathedral church is.
Smelly, dirty. Difficult to find public toilets. Have to use toilets at the restaurants when necessary.
Many immigrants and beggars. Have to be careful with pick pockets too.
People are ok, the food can be expensive but cheap if you know where to go! Look out for pizza joints!
Vibrant city.Do not visit during peak holidays - very busy. Shopping is great and markets fantastic.
