Best hotels & accommodations in Mombasa

Beautiful place kept spotlessly clean throughout with large bandas with sea view and a troupe of Colobus monkeys that mind their own business for added interest. Food was nice, but as both lunch and dinner are buffet, and with similar dishes recurring it all gets a bit repetitive for a long stay. It could really do with theme nights to ring the changes and some complet...

The location is fantastic, rivalling places in Zanzibar at which we have stayed. Two lovely pools! Snorkelling can be done just off the two private white sandy beaches (no problem with beach boys)! A variety of accommodation to suit your needs , including self catering! It is in a remote place so without your own transport it could be a problem if you want to try o...

Please provide more of kids meals and more activities to keep children entertained Pros - the staff are what made our stay beautiful and memorable Big thank you to Reception - Christine, Moses and their lovely colleague who I forgot her name. Carren in the restaurant for going the extra mile - getting ice from their sister hotel to chill my wine and everyone else in ...

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious and varied food, the buffets catered for everyone needs including lots of options. Good location on the beach. 3 swimming pools. Well maintained property and gardens. Close to shopping centres, Haller park and Mombasa town is about 20 mins drive (if there are no traffic issues). Kids club and lots of activities for adults t...

Pros: beautiful property, friendly staff, delicious food, right on the beach, flexible check in/check out, EXCELLENT service. Cons: we went right before the busy season, so there weren’t many people there. For us, we didn’t mind bc we only wanted to relax, but if you’re looking to party rather than relaxation, maybe this isn’t the place for you. Overall, we very muc...

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Mombasa. While not directly on the beach, it's a quick 10 minute tuk-tuk ride away. The location is between Old Town and the beaches. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The hotel is only four months old so is incredibly clean and well-decorated. There is a brand new gym, a beautiful poo...

We were very happy during our stay. The place is nearby the beach, local bar and small shop is just few steps away but you don't have to go anywhere as there is nice breakfast included in the price, you can also order food in the restaurant. There is a bar and small swimming pool. The staff was very nice and the place is safe.

For a person who is part of a five star hotel we usually notice very small mistakes but trust me when never found anything to complain about .From the time I made the bookings to the time I needed the adjustments everything was perfect . As we were traveling a group of 4 and I needed an extra bed which the hotel did not provide I expected a negative respond only to be ...

Overall message - it was a lovely place and I enjoyed my stay here; however (and this may be a danger of all inclusive deals) they were stingy with the waters and internet Pros: Clean rooms, balconies, nice pools, awesome beach deck and beds, good buffets with variety, friendly staff Cons: Crowded (but it is high season), loud until 11PM (which would be a problem if yo...

I stayed there for 7 nights 13th -20th July and i enjoyed every moment. It was sad to leave. I would definately recomend anyone who would like to enjoyed beach holiday or relaxing to visit this hotel. Its great. Just ignore all the travel advissories. Its all rubish. The place is quite peacefull and very secure. Just dond rely on negative publicity of Mombasa otherwise...

Friendly Drivers are at the Hotel they are ready for you where ever you want to go Day trip around the city or distance beach one day trip we took day trip to Diani Beach and onother day for Mombasa day trip it was awesome Vacation to Mombasa...... But I have to pay them cash they told me Agoda will return your money to your account for Under New Owner and account Cha...

Pros are that Diani Reef has good facilities, it is well located and the staff were friendly and helpful The cons were, on arrival, I was allocated a room that wasn't aired - in fact, it was very musty. However, this was quickly rectified and I was allocated another room. However, the major con is the quality of the food. I ordered pizza in the restaurant and it w...

This could have been better. They are located centrally in Nyali, near supermarkets and restaurants, but quite far away from the beach. My apartment consisted in a bedroom, bathroom, and huge living room, but the latter was shared with another apartment (thought the latter happened to be unoccupied during the whole stay). This wasn't so bad, but they should have stated...

Showers didn't work, AC didn't work, no working safes in rooms, no tvs, had to change rooms 3 times to at least finally get a working shower and AC at the minimum. One of the room changes was at 3 30am. The manager was apologetic and said he would make it up the next time we stated. But let's be real, I will most likely never come back. Please don't reccomend this hote...

it was excellent stay! The room was big, clean, with kitchennete , mosquito net and big balcony. the garden way beautiful, the pool was very clean. Wifi was very fast. Breakfast was also good. The hotel was not on the first line, but everything was near-pharmacy, supermarket , very beautiful beach was about 7-10 minutes far. Thank you for the time i spent in your hotel...

The stay was quite relaxed, although initially couldn't find the hotel as the gate looks very closed and the place deserted at midday. The private rooms are okay, but would hugely benefit from some newer sheets and regular cleaning. There was also an issue during checkout because they charged me something completely different from what Agoda (or in this case, Booking...

spent a couple of days with my old lady in this place, very relaxed surroundings , bed was comfy, nice little place to sit out at night and stare at the sky whilst finishing of the last of my palm wine , the wifi was o.k, better outside than in , but the place was not far from the facilities of town, and walkable distance to the beach..highly recommend.

I didn't get a refurbished room and my friends did - there is a huge difference so make sure to ask. The beach isn't great as it is very tidal and is swarmed with 'beach boys' hassling you. However the hotel set up our safari and it was phenomenal - as a coastal safari base the place is perfect. It's a 2-3 hour drive from the parks but if you're doing a 3-4 day safari ...

This hotel needs a total refurbishment from head to toe. Rooms are of good size but furniture & fittings are outdated. Staff need customer service training, feels as if the few we saw were just picked up from the street & given a job. For now it's a no return for us.

The Coastgate Hotel was wonderful. My check-in was smooth, accomplished by just handing them my Agoda hotel certificate. I had a friend with me who wanted more info on the hotel. She was given a brochure and a tour of my room with me. They served me a juice as I waited for help to get on the Internet. Their current Internet solution is a 3G USB modem, which you pay ...

Stilts has created quite the unique environment worth staying in. Set in a forest, you have access to wildlife but the comforts of a nice place. Bush baby feedings at 7 pm are a regular ritual to look forward to, and the lack of wifi in your room forces everyone to congregate in the open bar/reception area, making it easier to meet people. Staff are really kind and he...

To my Host Maxwell, must say thank you for making our holiday stay at your apartment best of best. Such a devoted, selfless, humble and professional guy that ensures his clientele are satisfied. An intimate retreat perfect for relaxing in a really serene and tranquil environment. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel like you are right at home. The owner goes above and beyond to make your stay as easy and convenient as possible. The pool and cottages are well kept and the food is fab

Oh, it was quite a memorable time, save for the short stay than earlier planned. The hotel people are quite friendly and helpful, even the strange visitor for first time, can still find his/her way around to discover more about the environs. Its certainly a recommend for the honeymooner wishing to enjoy the coastal city. More amenities however will need to be provided ...

Nightingale apartments are large and well equipped. Not far from Shanzu beach, which is lovely. The high spec Serena hotel is nearby and their facilities, restaurant and bar can be used. Nightingale has a very satisfactory restaurant and bar. Staff are friendly and discrete. A hire car is useful although local taxis, Turk Turks and Budapest budas are available. Lovely ...

It was me and my sister on a trip to relax and have fun in mombasa we choose bidi badu after reading great reviews but when we landed there from the first night our stay was more than great The place is clean nice rooms they upgraded us to sea view room which was really nice with great views more importantly the owner Tucson is such a great host it felt like home and...

The experience was far worse than I expected. The resort does not provide amenities as advertised and rooms are Dusty. sheets are not washed on every checkout on top of this I had ants and lizards crawling on the wall. although the resort is beautifully designed, there is no up keep cleniness. Upon checking in, they first have me the wrong room with single beds where ...

Private beach , which is not only beautiful but has been well kept , outdoor food service adds to the holiday mood. Cultural program at night are quite entertaining. Uber cab is cheap and safe way to reach directly from mumbasa airport.Even if I try hard to look for cons .....can't find any. Just keep up the good work . Thanks for the awesome stay.

It was good. Animator Micheal is very good boy. He helps to us too much. We loved him. If I go mombasa again, I will go neptune again for Micheal. you Find him. Staff is very friendly. drinks are not high quality. If you want good quality drinks you will pay extra. But lunch and dinner good. Sea is very hot. but not very clean.

well the rroperty is really nice with beatifull gardens but i was dissapointed with the room i had because the electrical socket was not safe to use in room 535 as you enter on left hand side the furniture was nice except only one chair was rusty including the rails in the shower asked them to change my room i was told you have one for the next day when i approached ...

Pro: the hotel upgraded us when they realized they made an error with our rooms. I was travelling with a friend and they placed us in the same room instead of 2 rooms that were booked. We had to wait for our new rooms to be prepared but in the interim they provided us with tea and snacks & introduce us to Morris our tour guide who made our stay entertaining. Pro: they ...

We loved our stay at the Africa petal hotel. Really helpful staff, great breakfast and the location is perfect. We would come back in s second. We stay in a pool side room which was nice but quite small and next time we would pay more for a beach view room as they looked perfect.

Best place for a peaceful getaway. Lovely staff and ambience. The seafood and drinks were amazing and the owner is an absolute darling! I would recommend it to anyone who just wants time away to relax and recharge. Great for couples, families and besties! Thank you so much for a lovely weekend and I shall be back!!!

Excellent. It is expensive but why not and you get real quality. The staff are lovely and helpful; the room is clean, top linen, air con and mosquito proof; food is delicious esp for vegetarians and the extra services for me the tennis courts, squash courts, pools and spa were excellent - just delightful

We had a short stay at at the Maji Beach hotel for one night as part of our honeymoon, having been on safari at the Maasai Mara for the previous two days. We had a warm and sincere greeting from the friendly staff there with a recurring theme of "Welcome Home". The hotel is very much in a boutique style - a low rise, colonial type building perfectly located backing ont...
