With limited facilities on Naoshima, we were surprised and pleased how much we enjoyed our stay at Guest House Sakuraso. We had a very relaxing time in our comfortable rooms and shared kitchen. The location is convenient to town, the 7-11, and the local bus stop. The house is fully furnished and we enjoyed sharing the house with tourists from other countries.

I really enjoyed staying at Tsutsujiso Lodge. The caravan was cosy and I had dinner at the restaurant both nights, as well as breakfast. The food was delicious. The location was great - very close to Benesse House and the Lee Ufan and Chichu Museums. The staff who work there were really lovely and very helpful. I recommend paying a little extra to use the private onsen...

Great place to base yourself for your stay in Naoshima, good size room with shared kitchen and bathroom. Lovely breakfast too. Friendly host and info about the island available - would recommend staying here wish we could have explored the island for longer!

Enjoyed exceptional hospitality at this hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and went the extra mile. The rooms are clean and while not large, comfortable and a value for cost. Offer yummy snacks for sale as well as beer and saki. You can rent bicycles which are helpful in navigating island easily. Would highly recommend this hotel.

I called the number (couldn't find email for them) and the owner picked me up from the ferry port. They have bikes you can use to get around the island. It's about .8 miles from the Art House project galleries, and about 1 mile from the Benesse house. Also near the beautiful Naoshima Fishing Park, which is great for sunrise/sunset.

1) <5 mins walk from the Miyanoura Ferry Terminal. 2) Naoshima Sentou (bathhouse) is just right infront of Little Plum. 3) Super friendly staffs and they made great food too. 4) Guest can get discount for bike rental. 5) Clean room and comfy bed. 6) The only down side is that the bathroom is outside the room so it's a little bit cold to walk out in the winter.

A bit expensive since the location is quite far from Honmura Port, walking distance around 20 minutes. Its a big and quite house, owner is friendly, easygoing and funny. Still thankful for the last minutes booking as all the accommodation are fully booking during golden week of Japan.

We’ve stayed in a very small double room (unfortunately no double but two single beds with spring mattresses) for only one night. For this it does it’s job and the friendly service of the staff counterbalances the simplicity of the place. There is a bus connection from Miyaura port and about a 20 minute walk to Honmura port. Bikes are available for rent on site. You...

Absolutely amazing stay at episode 1 on naoshima island. Easy to access on the bus from miyanoura port (although note sometimes the bus can be quite full with little room for large luggage) and free bikes to cycle to the main spots - only a short ride away. The owners were absolutely lovely and let us check in early as well as leave our bags after checking out so we ca...

Namihei was located about a 20min walk up a big hill from Hommura port. There is an easy bus you can take which gets you there in 5min and comes every hour. The place itself is very clean, there are about four rooms, ours had two single fold out beds which were pretty comfortable. There was minimal interaction with the host but the little we had he was friendly and ori...

They are not much information, review and nice picture showing in the website. But when I arrived, I really love the place the room is large, clean and tidy. The room view is a Honmura port which is really beautiful in the morning. They also a common living room for free-drink. The hosts were lovely though they speak very few English but they were helpful. The loc...

We paid the same for this room as we did for our room in Tokyo and I don't think it was worth the price, although admittedly everything on Naoshima is very expensive. The facilities in the room were good and the owners were very helpful in explaining everything to us. Everything was a little shabby though and one of the cushions on the floor was heavily stained. The be...

The location is practicly in the port. It os extra easy to move around from there. Dormitory is nice, clean. A bit little bit overpriced, but among the cheapest on this island. Lady that is the owner or whtever she is is amazing person, warm and helpfull she adds the extra star or two to the whole impression of the stay 🤗🤗

Check in time is 5pm but you can drop off your luggage before that. The apartment is in close proximity to a few cafes and restaurants. Just a 3mins walk to Hommura port. The room we were given was very spacious for our group of 5. You’ve got to set up your own tatami beds. Hot kettle is for sharing in the living room. Toilets and bath rooms are for sharing with other ...

Loved the Season 2- as advertised ! Spacious room & private shower & toilet! Owner was lovely, dropped us at the Benesse house bus stop. Didn’t give 5 stars for location- but the location was still ok, a bus stop a few doors down & 2 x restaurants open for dinner nearby. The best bet for breakfast is at the wright hotel a block away (i had forgotten this and we had to...

Like a quaint little cottage in the wood, this place excudes the vibe of Naoshima - a place with its own character and quirkiness. Getting to the place from Honmura Port was easy - 7 mins walk. The amenities available are sufficient for me - drinkable and hot water, bread for breakfast, towels, hairdryer and a comfortable room. It is easy to walk to some of the exhibi...

Our host went above and beyond her duties to ensure that we had a good time. We highly appreciated her good recommendations on the best art sites to visit in Naoshima and Teshima given that we only had a day in this area. We arrived around 3pm and it was clear that the slower pace on the island would mean that we cannot fit in too many art sites that day before closing...

This is a family-run guesthouse so you're pretty much getting a tidy room and that's it. I believe you can arrange to have some meals provided but you need to reach out to the host in advance. Nonetheless, there are a few restaurants nearby even (though they tend to close around 9/9:30 pm). Mr. Takeo was super responsive to emails on the day I arrived and he was nice ...
