Picked this location as part of a road trip for two nature visits - Antelope Island State Park to the south and the National Migratory Bird Refugee to the north.
Both were superb. The evening sun setting over the Salt Lake on the drive over the causeway to Antelope island was spectacularly beautiful with vistas of snowcapped mountains in every direction and a wonderfully tranquil lake. The wildlife on the island were fun. We saw bison, many birds and antelope. An evening well spent after along drive north. The Migratory Bird Refugee is a must do if you enjoy watching wildlife. From your car on the slow drive round you can see a wide variety of birds up close: pelicans, herons, egrets, avocets, geese, ducks, grebes to name but a few. We could have spent all day shooting photographs but had to reluctantly leave as we had a road trip to complete. The staff in the visitors centre were excellent - knowledgeable, friendly and willing to loan good quality binoculars.
