Pangandaran is one of the beach side in east Java... its just kind of ordinary city but you can find and feel different atsmosphere when u go there.
not very easy to reach Pangandaran, most convenient way is by car or some rare bus selections and had to take a hours-long mountain road journey.
The beach is beautful and clean. Lots of local venders alone on the road , mostly providing some low-price made-in-China surveniors and cloths. the expense here is not too high, but still higher then other regions in Indonesia.
So far, Pangandaran is ok to visit, but need so many attention from government, the place really need to be managed to be a better place.
Hopefully, next year (2015) this place will be much better as they promised that 2015 the government will take serious steps to take care this area.
One of the famous sightseeing and activities in Pangandaran is Green Canyon. But by the time, there is another good location to do Body Rafting activity called Citumang.
There are so many place to reach in pangandaran.for sight seeing to adventuring...it can be reach by walking and car.
one place adventure for one day,like...traveling to forest...to pasir putih..to surfing place in batu karas..etc
Don't believe anyone that says the seafood in Pangandaran is cheap. They're actually ridiculously expensive during holiday season.
I can get better food with cheaper price in my hometown. I more satisfied having normal food in Pangandaran rather than seafood.
very special. all access trip and its airport is very close to being on the beach. beautiful and very quiet.
Pangandaran is quiet good place for surfing, water sports, surrounding by many beaches. WhatI love from pangandaran was green canyon, well actually I loved nature sport activities, n pangandaran offer body rafting, me n my family was very enjoyed body rafting at citumang, swimming on beach, batu karas beach, east beach at pangandaran, n one thing for sure pangandaran local citizens was very nice, my daughter hired bicycle n she broke it, I though the bicycle man will ask for high cost to fix his broke bicycle, the fact the bicycle man offer us change bicycle without any cost to pay the broke one.
We hired local guide, our local guide also very well treated us n nice, very different with others area out side java island.
There are no chain Hotel in Pangandaran, some hotel are okay but they are pricy in the high season, some price are not reasonable, could be double or even triple.
The road from Pangandaran to Green Canyon was realy terible (when I visited in Dec 13). Hopefully the government will do some action to fix it.
Pangandaran is an exotic tourist destination. It has so many tourist attractions, such as Green Canyon, Batu Karas, Batu Hiu, National Park.
Most of them are within walking distance. The people are friendly. The hotels are affordable. Very recommended!
Pangandaran is a small, relatively unspoilt provincial town with very friendly locals. It is particularly suited to those who enjoy natural attractions such as beaches and forests.
There are the usual local markets selling inexpensive items of clothing, sarungs and beach gear. Being located at the seaside, plenty of fresh sea-food is available for those who desire it.
Pangandaran is a unique place to stay, in 2013 still an undiscoverd beach resort. It's not a place where you come for shopping or the night life.
It's a calm and quite beach & nature resort, white beaches, blue sea and beautiful nature are the things you'll find here. The inhabitants are very friendly, the beach cafes and sea food restaurants are amazing and cheap. At the fish market you select the fresh fish from a large crate and the restaurant fries or grills it on the spot, for just US $ 5 with rise, noodles and spinach. The guesthouses and hotels are affordable and all next to the sea. Don't expect glamour here, it's a place for people who like a quite undiscovered beach resort. Spend 5 days here, visit the Green Canyon and Green Valley, eat great food and relax...I had a great time here.
as object tourist (Pangandaran) must be one places that you come at west java province, especially beach or sand panorama and traditional local sea food is leckar.
The city has just developed into a municipality, previously part of Ciamis Municipality. The people has voted for a separation from Ciamis Municipality as they felt being neglected.
Unlike Bali with a Hindu majority, Pangandaran is dominantly Moslem area. Westerners are advised to dress decently when they roam around the area. Not all restaurants serve beer or any alcoholic beverages. For seafood lovers, you can visit 'Pasar Ikan (fish market)in the evening and pick up fresh fish and crab by yourselves for your dinner.
beatiful beaches with big waves, some people surfing, and children can swimming just at foreshore. the view is peacefully.
Try the green valley better than the green canyon one, cheaper and less tricky. and try to hike in National park.
The view from the top is very beautiful and they have a white sand beach there better from Batu Hiu,Batu Karas and Panfandaran beaches. They have a small water fall and natural pound.Take your snacks and beers and money with you not easy to find ATM, supermarket.very surprising price
The place is nice and beautiful and you should come to visit and take a lot of picture. you wont regret it but the journey to go there will take time so I suggest for longer period of staying so it will be worth it for travel.
There is alot of things that you can do there and the seafood is very nice.
