This is the place where you can find a lot of Buddist temple , reasonable charges for food and dining.
I had read somewhere that Phattalung is a sleepy city but I would describe as rather boring and comatose.
The people are very friendly and I am sure they love their town but we were bored after 24 hours. The sites to visit are dull and uninteresting and the only highlight of our stay was Thale Noi which was better than expected but this could have been because we were unimpressed with anywhere else we visited. We did enjoy browsing the shops at Thale Noi to see the local handicrafts but baulked at the prices that they wanted for carved pictures on buffalo skins. Better to visit the OTOP shop on the way out of town for better bargains.
Make sure you visit Lake Tahle Noi where lotuses and waterlilies are in full bloom during the hotter months.
During my trip there in June 2009, lotuses and waterlilies were in full bloom - so beautiful. And there were many types of birds and wild fowls, too.
