Best hotels & accommodations in Pilanesberg

Safaris were well organised in a small jeep with a maximum of 9 people. We were with the same group and guide throughout. Our guide Cathy was very knowledgable and had a brilliant knack of finding the animals at close quarters. Accommodation was in separate huts which were fabulous. Food was plentiful and good quality. Pilanesberg is awesome and the experience is well...

Booking in was not the best. Rooms not ready and our free bottle of wine was not sent and had to ask upon checking out. Pool and poolside bar and staff were good. Breakfast was fantastic with a mixture of ok, good and very good staff. We found Magdelaine the best. Transport around resort was great. Palace of the lost city golf course was amazing and enjoyable. Food w...

The Resort offers relaxing vibe , had Picnic outside our room and the kids had plenty of space to play. Their Water Splash was the best thing ever happens to us ... Felt like “ Big Babies “ I will recommend this place to couples who want to relax and families who was to explore around Sun City and Pilanesberg...!

Initially had some issues to check-in as they said they don't have any payment information from Agoda for my booking, after 15 minutes the manager sorted out the issue. They gave me a lake view room and told me that I have been upgraded. I thought what did they really mean changing the view to a lake view and saying upgraded, but the view from my room was amazing. ...

Incredible stay at Kwa Maritane. In planning the trip we chose to do our safari at Pilanesberg rather than Kruger because accommodation seemed more reasonable and we were right. This lodge was absolutely amazing. We got upgraded to an executive suite, which pulled out all the stops. The food was incredible- breakfast and dinner buffets included in stay. I was expecting...

You first notice the staff are very welcoming. The rooms are wonderful and very well provided with robes, toiletries, refreshments. Don’t forget the waterhole cam channel on the TV. Buffet food for breakfast and dinner - exceptional choice and quality. But the highlight is the amazing bush drives - three hours of intoxicating drives through the beautiful Pilanesberg pa...

Sun City is unique. A curious mix of Butlin's and Las Vegas. It works though, and can be whatever you want it to be: golf holiday, relaxing by the pool, adventure and of course one of Africa's finest game reserves is next door. It also offers fine dining (alongside a plethora of fast food outlets in the main centre), but you have to track it down. South Africa is stil...

The hotel and Rooms are quite good bathrooms are a bit on small side but perfectly adequate, the upgrade of the whole resort is overdue it's become very dated the Soho casino upgrade is awful it's like a kids electronic arcade rather than a casino. I would still recommend this hotel resort I believe the Cabanas Re due to be upgraded in June 17 and it's great the beach ...

My boyfriend and I just spent two nights at Tambuti Lodge last week. I've been on two safaris previously in Sabi Sands, and Tambuti Lodge (though being far less expensive than Sabi Sands) exceeded every expectation of what a South African safari could be!! From the incredible service to the fabulous meals (including a private dinner beautifully served in our room) to...

Set inside the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, this beautiful resort offers 2 three-hour-long game drives a day, luxury meals, open bar, and friendly staff. You are in the park in the morning before any of the outside visitors can arrive, and get to stay in the park in the evenings when everyone else has to go home. We saw lion, jaguar, cheetah, elephant, rhino, hippo, jacka...

Black Rhino is a lovely example of an African game lodge, very clean and comfortable and well located in its private reserve but adjacent to the beautiful Pilanesberg reserve. The staff are the highlight of the show though providing service with a constant smile.

I went to Pretoria for a visit to en embassy, so I decided to have a short tour into Pilanesberg National park which is really worthwhile if you have not much time. Me and my boyfriend have spent two nights in Morokolo Game Lodge. Jacqui organized perfectly every detail of our trip, included the transfer from our hotel in Pretoria to Morokolo Game Lodge. Transfer by ca...

We stayed at 3 private safari lodges during our first trip to south africa. This one was the best in terms of value (we payed 260€ per night) by far. The rooms are amazing with a balcony, an indoor bathtub and an outdoor shower, all overlooking the bush. Besides they are super new, luxurious and spotlessly clean. Service is great too. In terms of safari: We saw some el...

it was overall okay to bad. we struggled to get in on friday everning at 8pm, then we were again locked out at 12am after visiting suncity for the evening. my partner had to jump over the fence after waiting for 45mins outside the gate. then again got locked out on sat afternoon at 2pm, staff was not home, had to wait another 30 mins to get in.

The lodge is one of the cheapest in the Black Rhino Reserve. Fine rooms and bed and a quiet location. Food average. Why should you pay more? The game viewing is the same for everyone. The first day we had luck with the game. The second day was more difficult. Of course you never know what you will come across during a game drive. Unfortunately no lions. However, in the...

Traveler impressions of Pilanesberg
Pilanesburg is a pictureque city but the roads definately needs to be upgraded due to the high volume of traffic.
I would definitely take your own food. There are many picnic spots in the park which are nice to picnic at and be closer to nature.
An Awesome place for safari, we saw herd of elephants and Giraffes, roaming around on the tar road that we were driving.
Pilanesburg NP is a nice little Park compared to Kruger NP and very reasonable in price for admission.
Pilanesberg National Park is a great wild animal reserve as there is greater chances of seeing the big 5 compared to larger parks like Kruger.
The reserve is 55000 times of a cricket stadium.. you got friendly guides who take you to inside the forest for sightseeing.
Very impressive. Big 5 freely roaming. The first time in my life to see Lions at the romantic moment of Love.
A truly beautiful place. Stunning African landscapes with everything you expect! I loved it so much. I travel here everytime I go to South Africa.
