Rome hotels & places to stay

This was my first time using agoda, and I'm extremely satisfied. The hotel looked exactly like the pictures, and I found other reviews to be true to my experience. All the hotel staff was extremely helpful and thoughtful. I visited other cities during my trip to Italy, so I had two reservations for this hotel in Rome. When returning for my second reservation, the hotel left me a complimentary bottle of wine along with a thank you note for returning. They also left us a small treat for my birthday. As with any major city, the areas surrounding major train stations may not always be the most appealing location. However, the proximity to Termini station was extremely convenient (two minute walk), and there was also a taxi area very close by (when calling a taxi, the driver would arrive within 2min. I would definitely stay here again when in Rome.

We loved our stay in this modern/minimalist hotel in Rome, we were so impressed that we want to return when we next visit Rome again. Its a beautiful hotel with a minimalist design. I loved the shower and the toiletries, so modern! The staff are very helpful and the breakfast was delicious from the buffet and the dining room is really cool! We just loved this place. First of all, very satisfied with this price and quality. Staff were very kind and room is quite big and new. I stayed another Rome hotel 2days, very traditional but also old so felt kind of not clean and uncomfortable. Compared with that stay and this hotel, Smooth hotel is very satisfied with new system and clean condition. Besides there is near to station and bus stop. Also if you are Korean, you can go just store in 5sec and buy Sin-Ramyeon very near by hotel. This hotel was located very safe road and there was a lot of Korean that area. Definitely will stay again and recommend this hotel to my friends.

Location is remarkable as it is only around 5mins walk from Roma Termini. Breakfast spread is delightful, comes with many options. Room is clean, has toiletries. Alessandro from reception is very patient with our inquiries/ requests. He even agreed to move us to another room when the bidet was leaking. A recommended hotel in Rome, will definitely stay there again!

located only 5 min walk from the termini(main train station in rome)which is quite convenient when leaving from rome to other cities. staying in the termini area will save you quite some money for taxi or bus fare. room is nice and clean, although like all hotels i stayed in italy, all smelled like maldew. i guess it has something to do with their weather. for the price i paid, i'd say it's worth every penny of it. service wise, the first guy we met when checking in was not so nice. no smile whatsoever even when all of us smiled at him. maybe his cat die? the rest of staffs are all nice and friendly. so depending on whom you run into, if based on the first guy, i would give no stars at all for service. it's the rest of staffs are wonderful that saved this hotel on the service category.

Best hotel in Rome if you are after a modern space and good service from staff. Location is great for access to Termini Station, the area is a bit more typical of the real experience of Rome yet as Rome is a walking city it is still within in reach of all attractions.

My husband and I stayed 8 nights at the Rome Times Hotel. I searched endlessly online to find a hotel in our budget that was a short walk from many iconic Rome locations and museums, and had a breakfast option. The modern look and feel was also important to me. I was pleasantly surprised to find our room had a king bed and rain shower in the bathroom. I've stayed in other European hotels that were not up to date. Rome Times Hotel staff were extremely accommodating, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was perfect- made to order cappuccinos (I take mine with soy milk which was available) and a large buffet of fruit, pastries, meat and cheese, oatmeal, cereal, scrambled eggs, bacon, and fresh juices. You always take a chance when booking a hotel in a new city. Having the Rome Times Hotel as our home base every day as we explored Rome really made our first visit to Italy more enjoyable and comfortable.

Well situated with a 10 min walk to the Spanish Steps in one direction and Colosseum in the other in addition to plenty of shopping and dining options right out the door. We stayed 3 nights pre-cruise and 1 post and found Rome Glam a fantastic launching point for exploring Rome. Hotel was clean and comfortable and the rooftop restaurant and outdoor bar provided a great venue to start and end our days. Highly recommend.

We began and ended our tour of Italy at this hotel. When we returned we were welcomed back as cherished guests. The staff at this hotel rushed to take our luggage and gave us a tour of the hotel and our room upon arrival. They were so incredibly friendly with directions and recommendations for local food and attractions. The rooms were spacious and clean with beautiful high-quality decorations and the building itself lends such a historic and charming feel. The breakfast and COFFEE were delicious and the location was fantastic for walking to restaurants and shopping. The area felt very safe for a family with young children to explore. The metro is very close but I would definitely recommend a Taxi if traveling from Tremi Station as it is too far to walk with luggage. We will definitely be returning to this hotel upon our next visit to Rome.

This hotel was the BEST find in Rome. I stayed here with my parents for 5 nights while vacationing to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, The excellent customer service started before our arrival. I communicated with the hotel via email in advance and they were able to took all of our dinners in advance, provided the best advice about how to reach the hotel from the train station and were very attentive to my concerns. Upon checking in, the hotel staff congratulated my parents for their anniversary and we were pleasantly surprised to find a nice bottle of champagne in their suite. The PROS: The rooms are extremely clean, the decor is modern and the beds are comfy so one can get great sleep. Its also quiet on the floors and the bathrooms have a nice sized bathtub. The breakfast buffet is delicious offering a large selection The CONS: The bathroom door is opaque glass so not much privacy, the restroom is a bit small but manageable. Overall, no biggies to discount stars.

Ecce Roma Suites was wonderful hotel with even better staff! When we checked in, we were given their biggest room (Room 6). It was massive with a huge living room and doors that close off the bedroom. Was the perfect room for entertaining. The bathrooms are very modern with a great shower! The hotel was across the street from the police station which was a little comforting seeing that this was our first trip in Rome. There are TONS of restaurants and fun, touristy, shopping stores in the neighborhood. If you are ok with walking, ALL main attractions are very walkable. We didn't find one place along the way that was bad. We also enjoyed that entering the hotel when we returned felt like we lived in Rome and were accessing our own apartment! This is a must stay hotel! Amazing price for the money.

Spent three nights here over Valentine's and both agreed the hotel was located in the nicest part of Rome. All the well known places of interest were within comfortable walking distance and we had our best meals only hundreds of yards from the hotel. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and helpful and our trip would definitely not have been as enjoyable without their input. We really enjoyed the accommodation and the unique style of the hotel definitely set it apart from other hotels we have stayed in. If we were to visit Rome again we would definitely book to stay at the Spagna Royal Suite.

I would like to thoroughly recommend this hotel, the service we received was exemplary from start to finish, we had a room upgrade on arrival and they even delivered us a complimentary bottle of Prosecco on your first night as it was our first time in Rome. Keep up the good work!! Very good!!

Hotel Diana Roma Rooftop Garden is THE BEST hotel, ever. When I first arrived in Rome, this is the first hotel which I stayed in, for 4 nights. I wanted to extend my stay here, but they were fully-booked so I had to leave. The views from the rooftop garden of this hotel are simply breathtaking. And that makes up for the not-so-impressive views from some of the bedroom windows. Who cares when you can go up to the rooftop and look over Rome, anyway? The flowers on the rooftop garden smell like perfume. The first time I walked up there, I wondered who's expensive perfume was filling up the environment. Then I realized it was the beautiful flowers! There is a viewing "tower" in the garden which you can climb up (a spiral staircase) and look over the rooftops of Rome! It's beautiful! Belissima! The staff of this hotel has become like my family, really. If you strike up a conversation with any of the staff working on the rooftop garden, you will quickly find a new family member! I love all the staff at Hotel Diana Roma so much, that I honestly missed everyone, when I left! And that's why I wanted to extend, in the first place! For my last days in Italy, I came back to Rome and stayed here again. I got to say goodbye to everyone, and I'm so happy that I did! The rooms are of excellent standard, and you can connect your laptop to the cable wire of the t.v. and you can use their internet connection from there, or if you don't have a laptop, you can use your t.v. to connect to the internet. Flat-screen t.v. You can figure out how to do everything by taking a look at the remote control. The buffet breakfast is a real treat, and all throughout the day you can order food and wine that you like. At nighttime, seagulls float over the rooftop garden like white paper planes with bells attached to them. It's beautiful. A beautiful experience. 100%.

A great hotel in Rome. About a 10 minute walk (without bags) from Termini train station, and the same distance from 2 metro stops. Giulia on reception was very warm and welcoming. The hotel is renovated in a simple modern style. Not fancy, but very cleanly presented. Hotel rooms in Italy are typically small and this one is no exception but there was room for our 2 suitcases and a cupboard for hanging things. We were in room 202 and it was so quiet. No street noise at all which was a real surprise. Breakfast was good and offered fruits, yoghurt, cereals, cheeses, meats, bread and some sweet things. All taxi drivers knew the street so getting a taxi home from anywhere was never a problem. I will stay here again.

Booked a very last minute trip to Rome, and, the Artemide Hotel. For first time visitors to Rome, this hotel was in a great location on a main thoroughfare. It had easy access to Termini (train station) and the metro, as well as, taxis when needed. It was also within walking distance (a nice hike with good walking shoes) to historic attractions, as well as, groceries, fruit stands, retail shops and restaurants. We asked at the desk for a nice 'pizza' place nearby and they recommended "Target', an upscale spot a few short blocks away. The food and house wine was excellent. Our room was graciously upgraded upon check-in to a modern deluxe suite. It was spacious, clean and very quiet. European beds are firm but we found it very comfortable. The bathroom vanity was a bit small, but, the water pressure was great. There was also an in-room safe and coffee machine with nice assortment of cookies and crackers, and, yummy candy by the bedside. Surprisingly, the in-house mini-bar was stocked and everything in it was complimentary! A nice breakfast was also included in the room rate. At check-in since the room wasn't quite ready, they provided a complimentary welcome drink at their rooftop restaurant. We had a great lunch there on our last day, enjoying the chance to soak up some sun. The hotel has a cozy seating area off the lobby with beverages available throughout the day, as well as, a spa. (Note: The only downside was when the hotel called a taxi for a ride to a restaurant our first evening. Through no fault of theirs...the driver over-charged us. For an 11 euro metered fare, he took our 20, and, tipped himself 6 euros, instead of giving the correct change back! Make sure to be bold and ask for the correct change.) I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for first time visitors to Rome.

best location in rome. you could find all public transportation such as train, metro, tram and bus station just few blocks away. although the room is a little bit samll, but it is usual. it is almost impossible to find a big room hotel in rome. the breakfast is adequate and the room is clean with comfortatble bed. it will be more attractive and easier for customer to find it if the hotel sign is made bigger.

The staff is unbelievably accommodating, welcoming, and friendly. I came to Rome with the misperception that it was going to be brutal, this place immediately changed that thought upon first impression. We stayed at the Independent Suites (a few doors down), but had complete access to all facilities (free water, hotel lobby/sitting area, 24hr front desk help, baggage hold, rooftop restaurant...) in the hotel and the suites were just as beautiful as the hotel. The bed was comfortable, shower worked great, we even were provided with a free Android cell phone to use during our stay (excellent for maps!) Keep in mind that the rooms are tiny, but not any different in size than the vast majority of room. I love the proximity to Roma Termini, it’s so easy to hop on a train, metro, or bus from this stop. I would absolutely stay here in a heartbeat the next time in Rome.

My friend and I booked a superior cabin for three nights here to start our Italian adventure. At first we were worried about the location and getting to and from the city but it was relatively easy. There is a supermarket across the road, a tour desk inside the grounds, a ticket machine for bus/train tickets, but best of all for us, it was quiet in our part of the camp site and we loved sitting out on or little front deck after the craizness that is central Rome. The only very minor thing was the room layout. The shower is just a wet room that isn't inside a bathroom, so drying off and getting changed so I wasn't displaying all my private parts to my travelling companion was a bit tricky! Haha. We would definitely book here again.

I have been to rome several times and each time I have been disappointed by the upscale boutique hotels I have stayed at (overpriced tiny rooms). I couldn't contain my delight when I arrived at Rome Style Hotel. When i made the booking, the hotel hadn't opened yet so I was simply expected another tiny room in a good location but new. The location is perfect, in a small street, away from the hustle and bustle but 4 steps out, you are in the middle of the all major sights. The entrance/lobby is simple and well-designed and they efficiently maximized the small space. I was expecting the rooms to be small and well-designed like the lobby but I was majorly surprised! The room was extremely spacious, bigger than the rooms at a lot of 5-star hotels in Rome. Tastefully designed in a modern classic style and my room came with 2 real balconies and ample closet space. The pictures on their website don't do it justice. The rooms are actually much nicer and bigger than the pictures on the website( a phenomenon which is unheard of! it is usually the opposite) And it comes with all the amenities of a high-end boutique hotel (nespresso machine, etro bath products, free mineral water, amazing slippers etc etc). The service is impeccable, especially the front desk concierge manager, Massimiliano, who is so charming and warm and oversaw everything to perfection and made sure that his staff attends to every detail with care. Any hotel would be lucky to have an employee like him! The hotel breakfast is also sumptuous and very generous and the staff is sweet and attentive. I almost didn't want to write this review for selfish reasons so I can keep this gem for myself. it is so nice i actually stayed there 2 times, once in april with my husband and again in may with my mother.

We scoured the Rome hotels on offer through Agoda and found the Best Western President Hotel to be the best value for money in the area we wanted. We're from Australia and we're used to superior 4* hotels and whilst the Best Western President is listed as a 4* property in our opinion it's not. A good 3+* yes. It's in a great location, the beds are comfy and the bathrooms are more than adequate. The staff are lovely, breakfast is a good cold offering. There's a metro station across the road for getting around Rome and the airport link terminal is 15 minutes away, so it ticks all the boxes. Would we recommend? Definately yes for the money.

Absolutely enjoyed our 2 nights here. They provide Twinnings Tea and coffee (which many hotels in Rome don’t!). They provide a kettle too! I’m extremely thankful for that as we can sip our teas! Plus point: spacious and clean toilet! That’s really important for us. The bed isn’t one of the best, but it’s bigger than expected. Thankful for that too! The room is kind of small. Our luggages were in the way. It wasn’t a problem for us, of course. The staff were friendly and they used the map to explain to us the surroundings as it’s our first time in Rome. Appreciate the kind gesture. Especially to Marco! My hubby really likes your recommendations and your enthusiasm. The lift is kinda small and slow. Well, it’s not really a concern for us. We are cool with the lift. The sauna wasn’t working when we went and we were quite disappointed. The gym is functional. We realised that we don’t need to tap in with our cards to the facilities. Quite puzzled at their level of trust. We didn’t get to try their breakfast, sadly. Would love to the next time we go back. In short, We truly appreciate this modernised hotel after we stayed in other hotels. Then again, if you prefer the romanised kind of hotel, this hotel might not be your cup of tea. It was our best hotel in Rome. Will definitely go back again!

The hotel, like many small hotels in Rome, is located within a large multipurpose building. The hotel itself and the sleeping rooms are beautifully furnished with well appointed bathrooms, international televisions, and great beds. Of particular note is the service and attention provided by the manager, Rodel.

Rome is the first place we start visiting Italy , this hotel brings us a good start. Feel very safe, clean , quiet while at the center of the city . Transportation is very convenient , just right beside bus / metro station . The most important is beside Rome terminal, so we can catch the train to the next destination -Florence, very easy for time -controlling. The breakfast is impressive and many choice of drinks , but only lack of hot food for the start of the day . Highly recommend this hotel !

agoda aloud us to over book, but the hotel con acted us straight away and offered us a suit i there sister hotel only 5 mins away there service was amazing. they emailed us with all the information on how to get there via the airport bus,train ect... then when leaving the gave us all the information we needed to get to our next destination. the place we stayed was wrh suits the room was amazing and great location recumbent to anyone staying in rome, 15mins walk from the colosseum and2 mins walk to the main train terminal which has local metro and inter nation trains.

Really loved this place.. This looked like quite a new or at least fully renovated place. No lift, but that is expected with most hotels in Rome where the buildings are a tad old, and we were only on 3rd floor anyway. The hotel had a very nice interior, white modern feel, sleek but still classy. It felt very clean, the bathroom fixtures were excellent, the bed was so nice and aircon working well. There were 2 breakfast/24hr coffee area, one on the lobby floor and the other on the top floor which had outdoor rooftop area with lazy chair. I cant remember the lady name in the reception, but she was very nice and helpful, and as a welcome information, she showed us Rome map and suggested some itineraries in a concise manner, and her recommendation of the gelato place near Pantheon really gave us the most memorable gelato experience i ever had. Walking distance to Colloseum, Trevi, and Termini. Would stay there again. We wish the very best for this small cosy hotel. And also along the same street, there are a few restaurants which are of reasonable price for dinner.

The hotel was well decorated compared to a lot of outdated decors found in other hotels in Rome. The staff was amazing and very kind and able to help. It was a smaller boutique hotel, there’s a lot of restaurants near by. Not in the high touristy part of Rome which was calmer and nice. It took me about a 10-15 min walk to get to the Spanish steps or near the touristy part. About a 20 min walk from termini station. Everything was exceptional for the price, but one con would be the sound. You can hear people in the hallway talking clearly or any noise in the hall, the door wasn’t providing any sound barrier at all. This wasn’t really a big issue for me but take that into consideration.

Delighted that they upgraded our room and on the 5th floor with a garden view. The room is spacious, clean with classic wardrobe/cabinets, chandelier and furnitures. Toilet has been renovated yet retain its old classic charm. I just love this hotel. Beautiful Classic Italian Hotel. Hard to find such a hotel in Rome for the price paid...value for money. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Location - Brilliant - 2 minute walk to the central station - access to metro (duomo 6 minutes away) and cross country trains (i took the train to Rome) . walking to the duomo 35-40 mins. Safe despite the large number of people lurking around the station. Google maps showed other directions for starhotels anderson, so for the first time, make sure you punch in the full address, it is literally across the central station. the room was tidy and well maintained, the staff were very very friendly. my only complaint was the air conditioning. it was really unaffective and warm at night. it was my fault for not mentioning it to the hotel, but we used to come back so late at night, that i couldnt be bothered to wait for it to be checked and sorted, but regretfully suffered through it at night. maybe if we mentioned it, they would have checked it out. but we faced the same issue in our hotel in rome, so maybe its just how it is in italy :)
