Discover the neighborhoods of Ronda
Ronda is a small town located in Spain’s Malaga province. This charming little destination is set in and around a deep gorge, providing for some spectacular views in the city layout that includes an impressive centuries-old bridge. Worthy of a day trip from the Costa del Sol resorts or a couple night’s stay, Ronda is accessible by train from Madrid or via Malaga Airport.
Ronda’s mix of geography and history adds an enchanting atmosphere bolstered by some great sites. None could be more iconic than the Puente Nuevo – or New Bridge. Finished in 1793, the bridge has a height of about 100 meters. Beyond this marvel is La Ciudad, the old district of Ronda, which includes the Church of Santa Maria la Mayor and the Palacio de Mondragon. Puente Viego and Arco de Felipe V are a couple other sightseeing draws to this wonderful town, and a walk down into the gorge is a definite must for some of the best shots the city has to offer. Dining in Ronda is a treat, especially for those who find the less-touristy dining establishments and bakeries. Wine lovers can also take delight in high quality wines produced in small wineries here.
