Find Hotels in Sahukhanata, India

I've now been to this hotel twice in the last four years, and both times it was one of the most relaxing vacations I've had. What works for the Lotus is it unusually close (for India) location to the water, and the hotel double waterfront location next to the river and then, across a small sandbank, to one of the quietest beachfronts you can find in India. The rooms are no-frills but comfortable and well-ventilated, and a breeze blows through the property all day long. The food is simple but good, and the kitchen makes a range of very good Odia food as well as fresh seafood prepared as you want it. The staff are sweet and cheerful, none more so than the chef from Andhra Pradesh, N. Satyanarayana, and there are a number of lovely perches and posts on the waterfront where one can read a book in the breeze all day long. There's a bit of boating available on the river, and the beachfront (a five-minute walk across the sandbank) is spectacular. I'd strongly advise two or three days here just on its own or as part of a larger itinerary in Odisha.
