Discover the neighborhoods of Salzburg
Salzburg is Austria’s fourth largest city and is internationally renowned for its baroque architecture. The city is also the birthplace of Mozart, the setting for The Sound of Music, and was an independent state run by Archbishops for a few centuries. Salzburg retains much of its incredible architecture and serves as the capital of the State of Salzburg. About 20 minutes out of the city center is the Salzburg Airport.
There are things to see and do all throughout Salzburg. A day can be as simple as strolling down the street to attending the Salzburg Festival in July and August. Explore the life of Mozart at Mozart’s Birthplace and Mozart’s Residence or head out to see the Hohensalzburg Fortress. There are several tours to take, especially those affiliated with the locations featured in The Sound of Music. As with most cities that have a rich cultural history, there are numerous museums to visit, including the Museum of National History and Toy Museum. Hellbrunn Palace & Trick Fountains, DomQuartier Salzburg, and Steigl Brauwelt are but a few more of the top sites to see.
