Surigao is a small metropolitan city with all the amenities it brings. Shopping and food places of all types dot the city.
The best aspect of the city is that it is the launching pad for countless activities involving beaches and any nature trip. There are no movie theaters here but pretty much everything else, you can find.
Small city. Can literally walk everywhere if your not lazy. Tricycles & multicabs everywhere. Big public market.
Some shopping centres nearby. Big one Gaisano mall is a cab ride away closer to airport. Night market near harbor area every night. Boats head to other islands from same area. Only downside is food. Seems to be mainly grill/BBQ's - there are restaurants and fast food types. But for those looking for local delicacies.. grilled food seems to be it.. Tourist attractions mainly away from the city as well..
Not much to do in the city except try the various seafoods in the market. But this city is the jump off point for island hopping
Not a tourist town, no information available from Tourist office about how to get to islands and sight seeing, limited dining to McDonalds and other fast food places in town,
a peaceful and orderly city. people are accommodating and helpful. great food. easy access to nearby Siargao and Butuan city.
Surigao City has many more nice hotels than in years past-economy improving due to the mining business.
McDonalds has wi-fi, and 2 Jollybee's to choose from. One small mall outside town near the airport.
this city like a resorts, coz it's small and the sea is over it all the beach have resorts and place to have fun
It's really just a small city which mainly caters to the mining industry. That being said, it's growing at a fast pace and hopefully, maintains it's charm and avoids turning into a poorly managed urban sprawl like so many other cities in the Philippines.
The marketplace is the best source of seafood and you can ask any local eatery to cook your freshly bought seafood any way you like.
Tricycle is a cheap mode of transport and could even be arranged for hire for a whole day which is cheaper than renting a van.
