Visit Granville Island, Stanley park, take a free shuttle bus from Canada Place to the Catalina swinging bridge (not for wheelchairs or people with balance problems) ,Grouse mountain ( a free shuttle bus leaves from Canada place), Stanley park including the Aquarium for young and not so young, here you have so many choices including a beach area, totem poles.
Go to Canada place and watch sea planes land and take off with the mountains behind as a backdrop, also relax and enjoy the gardens here.
Vancouver is one of the best places to go for a mini-vacation. There's 24/7 bakeries, fusion asian-western food that is sometimes even better than the original, and so many clubs you'll definitely find something that is your style.
The main shopping street is Robson and you can basically find anything you want! The people are friendly but unfortunately also very rude when it comes to being somewhere at sometime so you get ignored a lot if you are lost.
One of the friendliest cities I've ever visited. Easy to get around, and plenty to see and do. If you're a first time visitor and you're not sure what to do, drop in to the visitor information centre at Canada Place.
The staff there were fantastic.
I have visited Vancouver 3 times in my life. Actually I live in Vancouver right now. I love this city because we can enjoy anything I want to eat, also we can try many night clubs if you like.
However everything is a little bit expensive I guess. Also when I show around Vancouver to my friends or family from my country, I always suffer from where I can/should show them. But, Vancouver is a safe and clean city, so I can recommend it to everyone who is interested in.
Vancouver is the ultimate city - friendly locals, safe & clean, smoke-free and green-minded, great places to eat, shop and visit, all surrounded by parks, ocean and magnificent mountains!
Great city, easy to get around, traffic not a problem, easy to find parking. Stanley Park, Queen Elizabeth Park, UBC area and Granville Island market and stores great places to visit.
Drivers very accomodating, great vibes from the city, people very friendly, easy city to drive around. Prices are reasonable, tourist areas don't gouge the visitor. Very enjoyable visit.
Vancouver is a very friendly vibrant city. Perhaps plan to spend 3-5 nights here as there is plenty to do during the day such as Stanley park, the markets and Canada Place.
Comparing to the state, it's not a good idea to do shopping here as stuffs are more or less the same as what we can find in the state, yet, the price is much higher.
There is a casino close to the airport, if you r staying for only 1 nite, you may consider going there as there aren't much to see at nite in BC
It is one of the most beautiful cities I have visited in the 35 countries, I have traveled. Many attractions, events, or just relaxing in the parks or on the beach.
All of this is at a price as most things are more expensive than other cities in Canada/United States.
Vancouver is a melting pot of different races hence the abundance of authentic local dishes such as Chinese food, Japanese food, korean food, malaysian food, etc.
So many places to visit like the Stanley Park, the Capillano Suspension Bridge,Whistler Ski Resort which is really fantastic. A trip to the Canadian Rockies is a good one too.You will enjoy the lakes and the mountains that differ in character. It is a must see.
it's a city. very quite on the street, not much people, not interesting place for shopping. but if you want relax, it's good city as nit busy at all.
A great city! The people really make it special as they are so friendly and helpful (it probably helped that I'm English as they love the monarchy!).
Even the bus driver carried my suitcase off the bus for me - how well mannered and kind was that! I hung out with some really nice locals and ended up having a proper Canadian steak cooked on the barbecue with views overlooking the city from their penthouse apartment- amazing! Grouse Mountain - the Lumberjack show was awesome and I recommend it for anyone, old, young, etc. There was a lot of action and humour in it and I was captivated the whole time - the audience participation is also really fun! The bears were incredible and the views would have been amazing had it not been foggy. There is so much to do, the cycle round Stanley Park was also lovely, along with Capilano suspension bridge - ooh-eee!
As Vancouver is a relatively young city by European standards, there is not much to see from an historical point of view (our opinion entirely).
We thought eating out etc was on the expensive side - definitely not a budget holiday. We were quite disturbed by the number of homeless people begging - it seems there was one at every street corner.
one of the best places i have arrived in my travels, was sorry to leave. wonderful city. will definitely come back with my family to enjoy!
It has a lot of hidden gems like the Marine building, Holy Rosary Cathedral, Public Library. All great architecture spots to marvel at.
I would suggest to rent a bike or walk in downtown Vancouver to see Stanley Park, Gastown , Chinatown and main street will be great
"Everyone in Vancouver is a tour guide" is what we were told by a young woman who helped us find our way to Granville Island.
Vancouver is a bustling, sophisticated and cosmopolitan city but with the friendliness of a small town. I was very impressed with the overall cleanliness and beauty. Granville Island is definitely worth the trip, the Public Market is not to be missed. I can't wait to visit Vancouver again!
Coming into Vancouver on the train from Seattle we were not impressed and felt we'd made a huge mistake in coming here.
How wrong first impressions can be. The city and the people are delightful there's heaps to see and do or if your up for a relaxing stop over there's coffee shops every where in which to sit and watch the world go by. The parks and gardens are a fresh change Stanley Park comes highly recommended as does Granville Street Markets. A beautiful city with beautiful people.
It is a nice city. Good parks and attractions. Food is good and so is shopping and entertainment. Relatively nearby.
...Victoria on Vancouver island, Whustlers....a bit further Canadian Rockies. The is a nice train journey with Via Rail to Jasper....further if you like.
Truly love visiting Vancouver. Great restaurants, good city to walk in, good shopping, friendly people, great hotels.
Vancouver is a great city. Very clean, lots of fun things to do for all travellers. Great options for food an drink!
Vancouver is beautiful. My family and I love to spend time outdoor walking or cycling around the city and parks.
A city with a little bit of everything. Very multi-cultural, with any kind of cuisine you could possibly crave.
If you are an outdoor enthusiast, there are plenty of great activities to do. If you like skiing, a winter visit is good, but otherwise visit in the summer when the weather is warmer and there is less rain.
Very cosmopolitan city. Food, people, transportation around the city, shopping, relaxation, fun, activities.
....this city offers it all. Depending on the month you visit, weather could be great or wet and cold. If you dress appropriately for the weather, all will be good.
Vancouver is a place where you can relax your body and mind. Slow down your pacing and breath the fresh air.
You will learn to appreciate the world of nature in a new perspective and revitalize your soul and body. Try the seafood there which is famous for sockeye salmon, halibut fish and maple syrup dessert. People are friendly and full of smile faces. Driving car for sightseeing is the best way. Easy to borrow car in airport upon arrival. Can join local tour to Banff.
Overall, Vancouver has to be one of Canada's most exciting cities of all time and one that I enjoy the most.
Vancouver has a lot to offer especially so that it's a melting pot of different cultures. The local Rest.
are simply great.Dnt missed out on The Keg Room if you love premium steaks.Tropika Malaysian cuisine is also very good.If you stay at Robson St.you will surely enjoy shopping till you drop. And what's good about this area is that you can find several churches f different faith. At Desmui St is a Catholic Church. At Burrard St. is a christian church and many others like mosques. You will enjoy walking around and never get tired of it.It's clean and safe to walk at night. You can also find the famous Five Guys Burger .
Safe and pleasant walking city. Convenient to food and shopping. Great views at bay side, harbour area,
Wow, what a lovely, clean and well laid out city. The people are very polite and genuinely friendly.
It is not a cheap city, however you only need to stay a couple of days as it is a compact place. I went there on a conference an stayed 2 extra days. The weather did no co-operate (it rained and had a storm on my 2 days off!), however I still manage to get in the sights even if it was foggy and wet. There is a large Asian community in Vancouver (mostly Chinese), so travelers from Asia can find familiar foods easily. Shopping is good variety, but he prices are a bit steep and there is no negotiation. The airport is large and easy to use. Arriving in Vancouver was fun. My gate was located far from the baggage claim, however the walk through the building was like walking through a cultural exhibition of the pacific northwest and the waterfall really made the experience 'green'. I recommend a trip to Vancouver if you can.
