Triple Room 141 - Room was big enough but absolutely no view from the window. All triple rooms are like this so bare this ini d of booking. 3 amazing things that would make me use this hotel again..... 1. The staff - they we’re so friendly and could not do enough for you. 2. The breakfast - I eat in hotels a lot and this was by far the best breakfast. Prosecco on arrival, hot, cold buffet, best croissants and smoothies. The fresh teas were tasty too. 3. The location - so central to everything. I would definitely stay here again.

All fantastic, quality pervades Smallest of things , the answer to a personalised email request is automated and wholly in Dutch ( I do understand we were in the Netherlands , but as arguably the most global of cities , a wider email response would go a long way . Absolutely lovely overall experience

The room bit small, if according to 4 star standard, but understands that most of the hotel in Netherlands is based on old building structure. The hospitality is good, staffs friendly, but notice that peoples in Amsterdam not that really helpful, especially when you are asking for direction, you always dont get a clear direction, maybe the people thought as a tourist, we are "expected" in knowing. Overall, is a good hotel to stay with.

We spotted the hotel straight away when arriving at central station so not far to travel with our luggage. we arrived at midday went straight to the hotel and our room was ready which we were not expecting but this was brilliant it meant we could start exploring and find somewhere for lunch straight away. We were given a room on the 5th floor overlooking central station we could not have asked for a better view so much going on out of the window it was fantastic. The room was a little on the small side but was clean and comfortable so nothing to complain about the room was also very quiet. we were in the older Victoria side of the hotel so the rooms were more traditionally furnished the furniture very dark and dated but it was functional and the bed was comfy and bathroom clean. The only thing I would say that let the hotel down was that they did not supply a complimentary drinking water in the rooms and there was no where in the hotel to get any other than paying 6.50 euros which most 4* hotels I have stayed in at least provide a complimentary bottle of water in your room there was complimentary tea and coffee but no milk so we used a local supermarket. The wifi was very useful although we had to keep signing back in everytime you return to the hotel or even if you are within the hotel . We used the hotel pool and sauna on both afternoons after a long day out sightseeing it was a great way to revive, clean, quiet and the sauna was the best I been in. Location was excellent after touring the city we agreed we couldn't have beat the location we walked everywhere there were shops, bar, restaurants, canal tours, trams, buses, bikes, and of course the train station all on your doorstep. When we checked out of the hotel we left our luggage with them went and spent another day exploring the city and picked our bags up on the way back to station to head for our flight home it could not have been any easier we would definately stay here again.

All in all, we loved our stay and would definitely stay again and highly recommend. From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out we felt so welcome and comfortable and looked after. The rooms are very plush and comfortable, I slept incredibly well (and i'm a bad sleeper)! And i loved the coffee machines in room. We had intended to go find a restaurant for dinner but we were enjoying sitting in the lovely courtyard bit outside the bar having our complimentary cocktails (which were delicious) when an incredible looking burger was carried passed us by a waiter so we couldn't resist. My boyfriend even thinks they were the best burgers he has ever had! Technically they were on the lunch menu but the staff had no issue accommodating for dinner time and they were very reasonably priced. The hotel itself is in an old tram depo so is a really lovely space and we loved the style with several seating areas (and a swing). Despite its 'uber cool' style i found it had a really lovely atmosphere which made us feel very comfortable and we were more than happy to hang out in the communal areas. There are a couple of negatives however. It is still very new so upon our arrival we were surprised to find some areas outside the hotel still look like building sites. Not really an issue but it may bother some people. Also it is further outside of the city, this is actually why we booked it as we had tickets to a gig nearby but if you want to explore all of the city factor in that you will probably be getting the tram a lot (which is very easy, the stop is very close and again the hotel staff are very helpful advising the best way to navigate around) rather than walking. Again not a massive problem but something to bear in mind.

IIt was a great stay at a hotel with an excellent location. It is in the city center, yet in clean and quiet surroundings of the best part of amsterdam. They rent bikes and scooters allowing you to access Amsterdam easily and at your own pace at relatively low cost. The rooms are clean and have every convenience you get in the 5 star hotels. I will be coming back for sure.

We had a great experience, in fact it was the best thing of our Amsterdam stay. In the beginning they were unable to find our booking and made us wait for 20 mins and gave us a free beverage coupons. But later when they found it, they provided us with a free up-gradation to their best room, the suite. The room was duplex and huge. The bathroom was humongous. The hotel had very nice interior and exterior. The internet speed was great. Overall it was the best hotel in our 65 days Europe trip.

Excellent customer service. Staff available 24 hours for all your needs. My incoming flight was cancelled. Hotel Vondel maintained my reservation and upgraded my room upon arrival. Beautiful room with nice finishings. Amazing location. Only steps from trams, airport shuttle bus, shopping, Vondelpark, restaurants and nightlife. Could not have picked a better place for my first visit to the Netherlands. Thank you.

We arrived on King's Day and hotels around downtown was fully booked/very highly priced. Luckily for that, we came across Sir Albert Hotel! Hotel was very sleek, clean, modern, n was extremely near to our favourite Albert Cuyp Market! Who cares if the room was slightly away from downtown (less noisy anyway) & small, it had everything we needed. Best way to end our honeymoon trip, thanks to Sir Albert Hotel :-)

The listing is inaccurate, they don't offer airport transportation. Rooms are tiny, like dorm-room tiny, but well-appointed and clean. Staff was very friendly, but they need to examine your room at checkout, I'd imagine this could cause very long waits to check-out, so plan ahead. The EU rating system is about 1/2 star higher than they'd be in the US, but this would be a very solid 3 & 1/2 star hotel here. Location was great. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if travelling for pleasure and I wanted to be close to the centrum.

Amsterdam hotels can be very pricey and quite hit and miss. We were so lucky to finally decide on Hotel Roemer! Situated in a lovely neighbourhood right in the heart of the museum district but not too far from the central area, we enjoyed leisurely strolls from the front door to everywhere we needed to be. Our room was in the annexe building across the street and was very spacious with a nicely appointed bathroom. The main hotel building has a gorgeous rear terrace which was a tranquil space to sit with a drink on an evening after a day of sightseeing. Although we didn’t eat at the hotel, there was a small restaurant facility if required. Our favourite thing was the ‘honesty bar’.....get a drink of any variety just make sure you note it on the bar slip! Undoubtedly though, the best thing about the hotel are the fabulous staff! They were so courteous, happy and helpful - cannot praise them enough! We LOVED this hotel and will definitely return. Thank you for a fantastic time! :-)

My husband and I were most relieved by the easy access to the main train station. It's a 15 min walk but pulling a carry on and a medium sized suitcase gets difficult over some cobblestone areas. Gladly there is a tram and its first stop is a little past inntel so it's a great alternative to lugging your suitcase. There were a lot of interesting small shops and cafes around the hotel to eat at. Breakfast around the hotel was around 7-9euro each and included coffee. The lobby was cozy and nice to hang out in. The reception was spacious while checking in. Our room was upgraded from our original booking so it was roomier than expected but (as a reference for Southeast Asians)for its price was not as spacious as similarly priced hotels in Manila. The design was soothing and the room was clean. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a modern designed space with easy access to the train station.

Shuttle from airport to hotel and vice versa is easy to locate. In the airport, go to the shuttle platform just right outside the arrivals hall and wait for the orange bus with sign "Best Western" and "Bastion Hotel". It runs every 30 minutes. Shuttle makes the commuting convenient. From hotel, you can ride the shuttle to the airport then ride the train or bus to Amsterdam Central. This takes around 20-30 minutes, quite far from the city. There is a McDonalds outside the hotel, no other restaurants in sight (aside from the hotel restaurants). Room-wise, it is clean. The hotel provides amenities such as toiletries, towels, bottled water, tea, coffee. They also have water boiler in the room. I recommend this if you don't mind spending a 30-minute commute to the city.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ambassade in February 2016. Not only is the location very central - right on the Herengracht canal - but the hotel itself is lovely and well-appointed. The hotel is actually two old houses joined together, and has a history of being where famous authors stay when they come to Amsterdam. So, the hotel's little library is filled with autographed copies of books by authors from all over the world. The rooms are nice but for my taste the furnishings are a little too much brocade and dark velvet for me. However, the bed was quite comfortable and I did enjoy the Bulgari soaps & shampoos. I know Amsterdam is an expensive city, but I've stayed in comparable luxury hotels and I'm not sure that the price-point for the Ambassade is worth it for what you get. However, if you want a nice and quietly luxurious hotel in the center of town and have the money to spend, this is a great option.

The hotel is one of the best hotel that I have every stayed on so far. Yes it is a bit far from Amsterdam but the bus station is just a 3 minute walk away from the bus station to take you there. You can even buy the bus tickets and even tour tickets from the hotel. I love the fact that they have free laundromat to wash our clothes and free coffee and tea every morning. The staff are all accommodating and the place is really nice. If I can give more than 5 stars, I would!

Honestly, I am so glad I came across this hotel on Agoda! It is two/three stops away from Amsterdam, which is about 15 minutes or so. The place it is situated has a Primark! I love the look of the hotel, gives you that old school Netherlands look. The hotel is very well kept and clean. The staff are absolutely amazing. The room was just as it is was shown online, found the bed and pillow very comfortable. You can get uber into town which is about 20 Euros or so. I don't think I am doing this hotel justice, it is a definite must book and when I come back to Amsterdam I will definitely be staying here again.

we loved the room - it has everything you could possibly need for a great stay. tea/coffee making facilities with a great selection (even milk is available), robes, iron & board. toiletries are from crabtree & evelyn and the white company. mac in the room! wifi is free, everywhere, and fast. only setback is probably the lack of a toiletries tray inside the shower, but everything else more than makes up for it. the staff are the true gems of this hotel. best service i've seen. we asked for an early check-in, and usually other hotels will reluctantly say "we will try", but the lady who served us welcomed us cheerfully with an "of course!". cleaning staff greet you when they bump into you at the corridors. staff at the city cafe had a really nice and warm and sincere smile, and was so attentive to your every need. when we checked out, we also asked about sending postcards, and we just paid the postage, they helped to send! and they were also very helpful in providing train schedule information. we are really grateful to the staff at doubletree amsterdam centraal, for helping us to end our vacation on a pleasant note. :)

Pros: This hotel is directly opposite the Amsterdam Central Station, across the river. It can easily be missed because of its small signboard. The ground floor is very noisy at night as it turns the cafe into bar, but in the room, even at first floor, is extremely quiet and sound proof. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the meals are great. The design and overall experience of the hotel is fantastic, and the location is just very strategic! The bed is super comfortable, one of the best I have ever tried sleeping on. Cons: The toilet in the room is a weird one, though very artistic. The shower water pressure isn't great, and there is no shower cubicle barrier therefore the water will splash everywhere after a bath. You need to be careful with your credit card charges, as even I have paid fully through Agoda, the hotel still charged me daily (luckily I received SMS from my credit card company), apparently the hotel staff said Agoda has not paid them, therefore the hotel will charge me automatically! But the staff are so helpful to revert back your charges, just that you need to check and be alert! The worst of all in this hotel, is actually the make up of room. Everyday even after 3pm (left room at 9am), the room is still not tidied up, and need reminders at the counter (even if you have put a "please make up room" sign at the door handle). And even after making up room, there is no drinking water replenishment, and those cups that you have used over night, are not cleaned up at all!! But overall, I am still very glad I have chose this hotel, and would definitely come back to stay in this hotel again when I visit Amsterdam.

It has the perfect location right near to Amsterdam Centraal Station without being in the midst of the hustle & bustle of being right in the ctr of the city. The staff are all very personable, helpful & friendly and yet at the same time are very professional at every level. They made my stay the best part of my trip. I had made several requests prior to my arrival & every request was met with care and attention. I'm a perfectionist & with my OCD nature, I had gone thru an unbelievable amount of hotel reviews and narrowed it down to this hotel from a choice of 5 in Amsterdam. The only reason I took away a star for the value for money is this stay is my own vacation travel and they are expensive during my period of stay. Also, as I had booked thru a 3-party website, I could not get my SPG pts. I definitely highly recommend Sir Adam hotel & will have no hesitation to stay at the hotel again! Thanks to all the staff at Sir Adam for making my hotel stay in Amsterdam a perfect one!

Location was perfect for exploring Amsterdam. The front desk was very helpful in aquiring tickets to the museums and attractions. They were very knowledgeable about getting around the city. The restaurant and bar were great. Some of the best cappuccino I have ever had! The staff were friendly and very professional. We had a superior king room and had adequate space. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

Before I booked a room here, I read the reviews on Agoda and some of them were rather negative. However, after I stayed here, I have nothing but only good things to say about it.. The hotel was very near to the airport (~8-10 minutes by shuttle) and the best part is their good shuttle service between the airport and the hotel. (although, one of their drivers was a little unfriendly). The breakfast buffet spread was good, and the quality/taste of the food was good as well.. Checking in and out was quick and the staff were friendly... The hotel was clean and the room was really nice (I have been to many hotels in Europe and Asia, and this is comparatively good).. In a nutshell, I will definitely stay here again on my next trips...

The hotel building itself is an attraction - it is a heritage building. The location is simply the best - the tram stop is right in front the hotel. Dam Square is just across the street - where a lot of the city attractions are located and where a lot of tram lines are passing through. The hotel room is not really spacious but big enough to move around. Basic amenities are amply provided. The front desk staff are very helpful. The best selling point is really the location. Food and dining options are all around. Most major tourists sites are all walking distance including the famous Red Light district. Central station is a few minutes walk or you can take the tram. Canal cruises also starts at Central so getting there is a breeze.

If you prefer a quite place this is the place to be... the best thing is the shuttle bus that goes to the airport every 30mins... thats why it was so handy to pick this hotel... if you don’t like the hustle and bustle of the city in the late evening... this is the place to be... for getting a goodnight sleep... we were in the Amsterdam centrum at 1-10pm and thats enough for us to go for city sightseeing bus and boat tour then walk around to dine and enjoy the city... our four day trip was relaxing... and still able to see all the places to see...

We were givin a room with 2 single beds on our wedding aniversary,the excuse was the hotel was full..just push the beds together?!thats probably what they do in the Netherlands! But I have worked for IHC ,Marriott! And Versace hotels and the customer was always 1st...come on Accorr,bout time you caught up.

The hotel adjoing to eden which was a four star property was given to us, It was a free upgrade, nice room, very spacious, good for family. City taxes extra if you book through agoda, if u book directly no city taxes, better to check the deal which is lucrative at the time of booking

The hotel should provide bicycle shed or safe area for inside storage of bicycles. We were not confident to leave our valuable bicycles outside even with locks. Even budget hotels in the Netherlands now mostly provided that kind of facilities.

spent 7 nights at the wittenberg at the end of July stayed in a 2 bedroom dupliex the hotel was beautiful and about 20 to 30 minutes walk to all the major attractions The hotel itself is in a relatively quiet area A couple of things to be aware of There is no air conditioning in the rooms and the windows only open a small amount This means limited air circulation. The hotel provides fans which was helpful. However the recent soaring temperatures in Amsterdam may make it tough for some to sleep Lastly in the two bedroom duplex the second bedroom is on the second floor in the unit. So if you have trouble with stairs probably not the best unit type as the stairs are steep

Stayed one night here enroute to Portugal. Arrived early in the morning , thought we cld try and see if we could check in early. Booking was not found which was strange as I use Agoda so many times esp in Asia and never had any problems. I thought all was ok but was asked to pay for the room when I checked out but it was resolved after checks with the supervisor within minutes. Strange, what happened to my booking? Back to the check in, it wasn't really smooth. We were made to wait while others who arrived got their rooms immediately. And this was after they told us earlier to come back at 11am, so we went back to the airport, had our meals and went back to the hotel. While early check in is a privilege as official check in is usually 2 or 3, we just waited as we cannot demand for it. However it was surprising that others who arrived later got their rooms immediately. I checked with the reception and they said i have to wait as mine was a standard room. I told them I booked a superior room and within minutes I got my room. So I had to wait all this while for a standard room when actually the superior room was already available? I ddnt bother to find out as what happened has happened and knowing the truth would have made the experience worse. On the positive note, rooms were large and clean and the price is very reasonable for this standard. Hotels in the city were really expensive and many were fully booked! The shuttle service provided was great! Punctual and convenient. We didn't have problems with space and another van was on standby when the first one was full. Really efficient. Thumbs up to the friendly lady driver as well! She helped us get out luggage when the reception staff were busy with all the guests. It might require a longer time to get to the city centre but you save a lot of money. I will definitely stay here again!

In our case, an exceptionally helpful front desk staff. Best thing about the hotel. We were upgraded, but the room we went into looked like a standard 3 or 4 star small hotel room.....their "classic" room must be small indeed. Position adjacent to Dam Square very good.
