Cypress Ridge Cottages
Very quiet and nice rural setting , cottage was cozy with everything we needed.”
A baby webber (or similar)bbq on the front verandah would be great to have -rather than cooking outside with no overhead cover or frying meat inside the small cottage.
Great bush stay with the comforts of home”
These neat comfy cottages are set in amongst a large rural property with lots of bush granite boulders, a farm dam, plus bird life and kanagaroos. Very quiet. Feels like a farm stay but in the bush not on a farm. Jacaranda cottage has a great old workers cottage feel with original timber fretwork, timber panelling and also modern kitchen and bathroom. Electric blankets a big hit for those who get cold feet! Everything you need to enjoy your stay is here. Wonderful deck for breakfasts in the morning light, nicely shady for an afternoon drink out in the warm Queensland climate!
Lovely comfortable cottage. ”
We didn't stay long enough! Loved the cottage- very quiet.
Fantastic people, beautiful location & lovely homely private cottages. Was perfect for us!
Extremely comfortable and better than expected, catering in the way of the supplied breakfast was a surprise and appreciated. Highly recommended to all and we will be back again.
Peaceful and relaxing.”
We have stayed at this cottage accommodation twice before and even though the rooms are lovely we won't be back. On checking in, the gentleman at the front desk was making fun of the fact that the previous guests were unable to get the fire going. Now we grew up in the bush and my husband has been camping and lighting fires for years, so we weren't concerned about lighting the fire. When getting to our cottage, we discovered the reason the guests before us had some difficulties with the fire. In the room you are left a basket with twigs about the size of your little finger, some firelighters and some newspaper. This is fine to get the fire started, but to stoke the fire and keep it going you require some split, in between sized timber. All that was available was logs 30cm across. So as you can imagine, when you put a log of that size on top of tiny twigs, all will do is smoulder. Because it was late and we didn't want to disturb the owners, we scoured nearby bush for some slightly larger sticks than the tiny things in our room. We had some success and finally got the fire going. The following day, my husband saw the staff at a nearby cabin, so approached them about the issue and the possibility of getting some medium sized, split logs. While explaining the problem, another guest arrived with exactly the same problem saying all he managed to do is fill his room with smoke. My husband was told quite abruptly that there was 80 acres of bushland around him. When he asked how he was supposed to gather this wood, as he didn't think he needed to carry his chainsaw with him on a romantic getaway and would it be possible for someone to drop us over some suitable timber. Now Ballandean in the middle of winter is not the place to be without heating. If the owners aren't prepared to supply their guests with the right or enough timber, then put in another form of heating. In my opinion, there is so much good accommodation in the Ballandean area there is no need to return t
The best break away from it all we've had in years”
We had a wonderful time and will definitely go back again
Clean, pet friendly and cosy!!”
Weve stayed here twice now, both occasions with our dog. The property is clean, away from traffic and very relaxing!! We will definitely be back soon...owners are very welcoming and accommodating too :)
Our weekend stay was perfect, a country retreat surrounded by national parks and wineries. Breakfast was provided in the price and it was in the refrigerator on arrival to cook yourself which is perfect for us also. A very generous breakfast with lots of variety and we could eat it whenever we wanted.
