Great staff and great location”

Pefectly located next to main street and staff couldn't do enough for you!!

we selected the diamond palace due to its location and we were delighted to find just how close we were to everything phnom penh had to offer!! set just back from the river but less than a minutes walk to all shops and restaurants. room was small but clean and air con was great. the staff were excellent from the start and even on the morning of leaving made sure we were comfortable, as we waited there for a hour or so for our taxi to airport, moving the fans around to take the sting out of the stifling humidity!! great little hotel and a bargin at the price!! definitely recommend!!

Great Location, Great Staff”

Location, Staff, WiFi

I spent a week at Diamond Palace II while I looked for an apartment in Phnom Penh. The room was small but adequate. The staff was friendly and helpful. Every time I went out for breakfast, the room was clean by the time I returned. Also, the WiFi worked very well. I highly recommend.

Great value, great location, I'll be back!”

Location, price, service

I don't usually leave reviews but the service and value here were so good, I'll leave a quick review. I liked the place so much, that I booked three more nights and will definitely stay here next time i'm in Phnom Penh. Location is perfect, view of the Museum and Palace outside my window, safe neighbourhood, I can see the river from the balcony, too. Service was outstanding, always helpful staff. My new home in Phnom Penh! If I have to say anything negative, it would be that the white toast at breakfast is a bit boring and I would replace it with a nice fresh baguette!

Great location but unreliable transport provided”

Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms

Myself and my two fellow travellers stayed at this hotel during our time in Phnom Penh. We had a lovely time whilst staying at the Diamond Palace II, the staff were really friendly and catered for all our needs. The rooms were clean and tidy. The Manager recommended we use his tuk tuk 'pick-up' service upon arrival in Siam Reap. We arrived in Siam Reap really late at night, were picked up by the hotel's partner agent but when we informed him we had booked at a different hotel, he proceeded on lying to us about the distance to our hotel, over-charging us and basically ripping us off for our transfer to our hotel.

Really good budget hotel.”

Clean rooms, great location

We stayed at Diamond Palace for 3 nights, including a day in bed with food poisoning (not from the hotel), so we really got to know the hotel well and we were impressed. It appears to be one of the cheaper options in the Riverside area of Phnom Penh, yet has a great location overlooking the National Museum. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times, and the maids were very meticulous in their cleaning. The room was very small but fine for our needs and exceptionally clean. We got a welcome glass of orange juice and 2 free bottles of water each day. Breakfast was generally good, although perhaps a fruit salad option would be a good addition. Cheap draught beer ($1) all day with happy hour offers of 2 for 1 drinks seems good value, and the bar/lounge has a nice feel to it. Overall, a very nice place to stay.

Good deal for the money”

Location, view from the room.

The first night the hotel had no room for us so they sent us to another hotel (Diamond Palace) located in a different area and not as good as Diamond Palace II. After that, we eventually got a room on the third floor with a really good view of the royal palace. Although the hotel seems to be pretty new, the bed was broken so it was a little uncomfortable. The bathroom was kind of small and to have a shower was not easy due to its terrible layout. No elevator in the building. We would say that in overall the hotel is a three stars backpackers hotel.

Great location, lovely service, comfortable stay”

The service was very good, the room was immaculate, brilliant location

It's situated across from the Royal Palace, which is very conveniently near the other main attractions of Phnom Penh. It's relatively close to the bus/ferry station as well if you're going/coming from Angkor Wat. The room itself was wonderfully furnished... tea pots, shampoo, soap and, and even toothbrushes. WiFi was also pretty decent, and the free breakfast did the job too. The staff were very friendly and were prepared to make all the phonecalls if you needed to book something. For US$24, you are getting reasonable bang for your buck. It's definitely a place I'd go back to.

Great hotel!”

Location, the staff, the room.

The hotel has a great location next to the museum and only a few minutes walk to the Mekong and Royal Palace. The staff here are really friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good and has a decent choice. The only downside for me was all of the tuk-tuk drivers constantly parked on the opposite side of the road and any slight movement means they'll start shouting at you or even running up to the door to ask you if you need a driver or where you're going. Saying no to the first one of two doesn't stop the others from asking the same questions so be prepared to have your patience tested! Apart from that, I would certainly go back and stay here again if I was back in Phnom Penh.

A good budget option near the river in Phnom Penh”

Good location, comfortable rooms, and helpful staff.

We stayed at the Diamond Palace Ii for two nights and it was a good experience overall. Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the hotel was in a good location, being close to the river, numerous restaurants, and the Grand Palace. The staff helped us book transportation to Siem Reap, but did not pressure us to book any tours or anything else with them, which was appreciated.

Good for the price”

Central, by riverfront, close to many restaurants

We enjoyed our stay here. Room was clean but not sparkling. The stairs and corridors to the rooms could have done with a good scrub (first impressions count.) No lift so be prepared to lug your bags up the stairs. Had one really noisy night when other guests decided to party on the shared balcony but other than that it was OK. We decided to stay 3 more days/nights in Phnom Penh and moved to a cheaper hotel just around the corner on the waterfront. Diamond II was not interested in reviewing their price which we had no problem with.

Good choice, good location”

Location, room cleanliness

I was really pleased with this choice of accommodation in Phnom Penh. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the riverside on Street 178, a very good area. The room was small but well equipped and very clean. The staff were very friendly and had a suprisingly good level of English. Breakfast is basic but ok. I paid dollars including tax through Agoda for a standard room. This is apparently including a 50% discount, but in my eyes, there is no way the room/hotel is worth double that before discount. 50 cent glasses of beer in the hotel bar all day every day!!

Very good location, surrounding are plenty of F&Bs, pubs so its great for meals and a good sit down drinks after your day out or work. Room is very comfortable, facility works and wifi is among the best i have experienced. Shower and heater works nicely too. Location. Breakfast was great.

Enjoyable stay in Phnom Penh. Hotel is just around the corner from the palace, pagoda and restaurant street. Nice decor in rooms, AC worked well but the Internet was very slow, not that that's an issue. Staff were friendly and the tuk tuk drivers at the front of the hotel were great! Just make sure you haggle with them.

Lovely stay but average breakfasts”

Friendly and helpful staff, safe and secure room, lovely view

We had a great view over the palace, short distance to the riverfront and the local market. The children in the area were quite aggressive beggars though and harassed us for two blocks as we walked back to the hotel. Having the great view also meant road noises could be a bit loud during the day - a wedding took place from morning to afternoon for one of our day's there which was an interesting experience, but it was quiet during the nights. I mention Diamond Palace II as a safe place as we met a couple who had money stolen from inside their luggage that was locked in their hotel room. So do not stay at the Monsoon!! We had no such issues, working security camera's, the cleaner we had was the same lady for the length of our stay.

Best value considering location ”

Location, staff, food

This was my second stay at the diamond palace and although my first stay was much more enjoyable with a cleaner room and no mishaps I still would come back when I return to Phnom Penh. The breakfast is delicious so is the speedy room service for those hung over occasions. Close proximity to central and Russian markets and a with tuk tuks waiting out front awaiting your command it's easy to get anywhere or get anything. Those drivers will get you anything you'd be afraid to ask a stranger for which was very helpful and drove me the killing fields and gave me a tour for a very reasonable price. The room itself this time was sub par but considering i spent maybe just a handful of hours in the room during the 4night stay it was easily overlooked.. The shower was not as hot as it was on the upper floors and and bed was not as comfortable but again. Not my biggest concern. If you plan to stay here for more than one night commit to the agoda price becuase they jack the price up to 25 a night otherwise. Perfect distance from the river and bar street action but still quiet on the street itself. Most tuk tuk drivers found fhis place easily. Highly recommended for a low matience, high octane backpacker who is looking for value and location.

Wifi air con staff

Nice enough little place. I was on the first floor overlooking the street and palace grounds. Higher up the view would be better. Tidy room dimly lit but didn't matter. Air con good. Bed good. Breakfast had 9 choice set menu. Basic but good enough. I did t enjoy Phnom Penh at all but the hotel itself was fine for my needs. The staff in particular were very friendly and helpful in all things. I would recommend this hotel for location and service.
