Great place but bad wifi”

Pros: great location and facilities. Beach is rarely busy and so oeaceful. Staff are vary friendly. Cons: I stayed almost 3 weeks and almost 50% of the time the wifi did not work as promised in the room. I was very frustrated at the staff's inability to solve the problem. I was not willing to go to the restaurant to use the wifi which wad always working when I paid for wifi in my room. I don't know why with such a great place they are unable or unwilling to fix this problem. I am in Koh Phangan for 40 more days and this is the main reason I chose not to stay any longer.

Great value, unhappy staff”

Unfortunately the staff are not happy and that is reflected in the service. I stayed 10 days for the great view, and large room, despite this and Wifi that does not work . Haad Yao is a lovely place.

Great Place”

Pros: The location is great, never more than a dozen people on the beach at any one time. Good seimming and snorkeling when the tide is in. Minutes away from other beaches as well. Easy ride to fruit stands, 7/11 and 2 grocery stores on site. The staff is super friendly and keep the property very clean. Room ckeani ng daily. Everyone is very helpful and nice. Located next to 2 motorbike rental places. Cons: I read some bad review before coming and was concerned. However , in my experience I cannot afree with any of the complaints. I am staying here 3 weeks and would come back again. The only slight negative is the 2 grocery stores are over priced.

STAFF ARE SHOCKING ”

The location of the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and taxis are very expensive. The only alternative is to get a bike, which the hotel offer to rent. We rented one for two days, signed a agreement and taken the bike back in perfect form. The man who was on the desk was desperate to find an error with the bike and he insisted that we had to fill the bike with gasoline (which was never once agreed). The man then refused to give us our passport back, proceeded to swear and abuse myself and my partner, calling us stupid fu****s. Considering he was staff at the hotel his behaviour was absolutely disgusting. He physically attacked both of us during the process. It was quite apparent he was trying to rip us off and other hotel staff looked on and laughed. DO NOT STAY HERE! Not worth the rude staff, poor location and the hassle of physically fighting to get YOUR OWN passport. Never experienced anything like it. (P.s The rental man was very clearly working with the hotel)

Amazing why a view ”

Staff where amazing. Was a problem with my room at check in but they fixed it up with no hassles at all. Staff where amazing with my 2 and a half year old. Great location beautiful clean room. Would have loved to had more time there.

Close to the beach ”

Nice place to stay close to haad yao beach. Its located pretty far away from everything else so its perfect if you just want to chill or travel with kids. This place is a huuuge complex of rooms, bungalows, houses etc and there is A LOT of stairs and hills. No elevators or anything so you have to walk and carry your bags. We rented a scooter from the place next to the hotel and everything went well. No scam or anything

Exceptional”

We spent 4 nights here and loved it that much we decided to stay on another 3 nights. We stayed in a sea view balcony room and all I can say is that the view over the bay was absolutely amazing. All staff members, especially the young lady on reception were very friendly and attentive. Ignore any bad reviews, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. I would definitely return to this hotel again. Thanks to all the staff for making us feel very welcome.

First Holiday Ever ”

I'm 24 years old female and have stayed a few places in Koh Phangan now and I wanted to stay a few nights here to treat myself to a resort feel. I really enjoyed my stay, the house-keeping and amenities was kept to a high standard and the food and beverage is priced fairly. I definitely recommend! I stayed in a Deluxe Sea View w/ A/C. ***** 5 stars! :)

Haad Yao is great but far from all the buzz”

The hotel location is just beside the Haad Yao beach. The evening was quiet but very beautiful. If you are a couple or family this place is perfect noise free with beautiful beach and view. The hotel rooms are spacious and friendly staff. Facilities are amazing here.

great sized room and bed ”

we stopped here for one night around full moon party time, the room was a good size and nice and quiet, although i feel we were put as far away in the resort as possible, despite seeing lots of empty rooms close by. at times I felt the staff were not very friendly. which is a shame. we enjoyed the room and it had a nice big bed which was comfortable. however we found the safe in our room didn't work which was not great. we were unable to use the pool as we were only here one night and it was always very busy. however we did enjoy our stay here.

very nice resort for the price”

We visited the resort during low season, so the resort was practically empty. The A/C was very cool and bathrooms were very clean. complimentary toiletries were provided. Staff was extremely helpful in booking transportation from the island to our next destination. Only con, there is not budget friendly food in this area, so we drove down toward town for meals.

Prison cell”

We got the most affordable room here, and I really regret it. It was in the new building, up a million miles from the beach. The room had one window that opened up to a public walkway, so we always had to keep it closed. The room was large, but dark, bare, with hard furnishings begging to break a toe. They do make the bed and give fresh towels every day, that's nice. I never wanted to return to the room because it was so depressing. Breakfast was depressing as well. But it was cheap...

Exceptional”

Very friendly, helpful staff. Amazing location!! On the beach! Bit dated but overall great place to be. Can hire motorbike and see rest of the island.

Lodging is great, food okay”

Great location. Room with seaview was clean, comfortable and the view was amazing! The place was well kept and clean. After the first day, I skipped the included breakfast.

Best view from room yet”

We had the bay view room and it was pretty awesome. Amazing view of the beach nice big comfy rooms and the staff was too notch. You can snorkel right in and around the outside of the bay. They also rent scooters right there to get you anywhere you want to go.

Good budget place but little to no wifi in rooms or at front desk. ”

Room was same as pictures assuming that's because it was low season and not many guests. You have to put down a 500 baht deposit for room key. The aircon kept turning off in room 203 we requested a new room and they gave us room 201 aircon worked great. Not very many lights in the room. No kettle though it said it had one for free usage and the woman wanted to charge us 50 Baht for each day of use for renting one. Pool was great beach front was very nice. Very thin sheets needs more. Large Cockroaches in the room but were able to get them out. The room next to us was partying with their own music and was yelling all throughout the night. No one was at the front desk or anywhere on the property to have them stop, this went on until about 4 am. Some front desk staff are nice but as soon as you start to ask questions at the front desk they get very defensive and give you a terrible attitude. House keepers are really nice.

Room is not the same room as pictured ”

The resort was nice and in a good area. The room we were given was big and clean. However the room (standard double) was not the room pictured on agoda. When I questioned this, the staff said they know but we can not have this room in the photo. We were getting up early to go diving and one night there was a loud and aggressive female staff arguing with a policeman for over an hour at 11pm outside our room. Apart from those things it was nice.

Comfortable room beach/deck front”

The room was big, clean and had doors that open up to the oceanfront deck. The pool is nice and deep and very cool. Overall we had a good stay but would probably pick a bungalow down the beach next time.

Nice scenery”

Helpful staff which have good advise for the boat due to strong wave. Clean hotel. I like the Tom Yam soup with milk, is the best i eat at Haadyao Beach, eventhought i order Tom Yam at other restaurant and found that not nice.

Great experience ”

Before I came here, I have read a lot of bad reviews about this hotel especially the staffs. However, I was suprised that none of these happened to be true except the aunty at the reception can be very rude sometimes to the customers. The staffs are mostly from Myanmar not Thailand and eventhough they did not speak english so well, they provided excellent services. I had 25kg luggage that I was supposed to carry to the 3rd floor, but one of the guys offered to carry it on his shoulder. Very impressed by this I noticed they must have been used to carry heavy bags most of the time. Not just that, I booked a taxi with the hotel after checking out to go to Haad Rin area for the full moon party. The taxi driver was one of the staffs as well. Initially, there is a taxi station in Haad Rin where he was meant to drop us off but I politely asked him to find us the hotel and he gladly did it. I think the previous reviews might have help the staffs to improve their performances and I also think this hotel is a bit underrated. Amazing food, very nicely decorated restaurant, clean room, perfect location for a nice romantic getaway. I had an amazing candle light dinner by the beach.
