Great location, basic but all i need, friendly helpful staff”
Cons: not suitable for people with mobility issues ... only stairs.
The location was in the centre of the city and that was great. The facilities were tired and run-down. Mould was prevalent in my bathroom, so the cleanliness was below par. I reported an over-powering smell of sewerage in my room and was sympathised with, but that fell short. The staff were friendly and tried to oblige but one staff member (maybe the manager) went through public tantrums/yelling and making everyone uncomfortable. It was a shame as the other staff were lovely. In all I will never stay at this location again- nor would I recommend it
We stay in a backpachers place in Launceston and it was cleaner than the Harrington And we travell queit a lot and this was the worst and my husband had to poor hot water down the drain in the bath room to help get ride of the smell. We would definitively never recommend your place to anybody my husband had to climbed up over the bed because it was a double and it was up against the wall and the bag was on the table because ther was NO room. We where going to stay 7 nights and only stayed 1 because I was to ill to go around looking for some where else to stay.
My friend and I stayed for 2 nights room was very comfortable and clean the staff very friendly Close to all the town area within walking distance to wharf I have rebooked for another stay in December with my husband for 3 nights Would highly recommend
Great location, ”
It is a Chinese run small hotel located on a small slope... This time my room is on the 2nd room and there is no lift... Fortunately the hotel ppl do help to bring my luggage up n down.... The location of the hotel is pretty good, close to shopping area n around 10 mins walking down to the pier.... The room is small n they do not fix your bed daily unless u ask them to do it...
It looks a little bit old, but things inside are clean and tidy. One thing needs to be pointed out is no elevator in the hotel.
"My stay at the Harringtons 102 Hotel" was all I could asked for. It was clean with very friendly staff and a very efficient reverse cycle air conditioner, which I used for heating during the cool spell during my stay. The two things I was looking for was location and accommodation withing my budget. The Harringtons 102 Hotel met both these needs. I will not hesitate to ring and book my accommodation again if the need arises. Thank you.
Clean Room, Friendly Owner, Excellent Location.”
We enjoyed 8 nights at Harringtons 102 Hotel. Our only complaints, rock hard pillows on the bed. (The bed itself was excellent!) and no free parking in the area at all! Apart from those two issues we have no hesitation in recommending Harringtons 102 Hotel, it's a great (budget) place to stay in Hobart!
Great little hotel”
Had a very friendly and helpfull welcome from Derek. My room, although small was bright and totally functional . Bed very comfortable shower worked well with plenty of hot water. My only improvement would be a chair in the room as I would rather watch TV sitting rather than in bed. 102 Harrington street is a convenient location and just around the corner from the airport bus transit. Hotels and restaurants nearby. Would stay again.
"HOBART STAY AT THE HARRINGTON."”
There was an initial mix-up with our original booking which was hard to fix because there was no one "on-site." Eventually had to make contact with the company representative in Singapore. The mix-up was fixed to my satisfaction, which was prompt and to my satisfaction. The location is very handy to things in Hobart, however, it lacks an elevator which can be a real problem with heavy bags, particularly when you're on the second floor. Derek, the 'on-site manager' was very helpful in assisting us in every way. There is much that can be done to improve a stay, however, for the price it was quite satisfactory.
Great but noisy”
My only criticism of this hotel was the lack of soundproofing in the rooms. I was kept awake by the sound of doors opening/closing, footsteps on the tiled floors, voices and TV noises through the walls.
Skip standard room go for bigger room 3 guests ”
Standard rooms so small, no chair, TV connection taped in place subsequently didn't work. Free wifi advertised but no wifi, should advertise that stairs are only option and parking available but not secure. HOWEVER we asked for an alternative room after two nights and were shown two to choose from. Great improvement in size and in outlook. Sorry I didn't ask earlier. Staff helped me move and were very helpful. A toaster would have been great inclusion in the room.
My stay was pleasant and comfortable”
Overall I enjoyed my stay at Harrington's b&b, at first I was reluctant to stay there as I had read negative reviews about it, yes the rooms are small and there are brick windows but I found it to be quite quaint and comfortable and clean. My only disappointment was the lack of an iron and ironing board. They are one of the first things I look for when I stay in a hotel etc, fortunately for me I had ironed all my clothes before I went away to Tasmania, but apart from that I enjoyed my stay.
great location but nothing else was good. ”
Stayed overnight to attend a wedding in Salamanca. The rooms were small, there was no lift, the marble floors made it very noisy along with the bad plumbing. The smell from the owners kitchen pervaded the whole place. There were no windows only glass bricks which meant there was no way of darkening the room. The towel rail had been pulled off the wall and not replaced. There were no milk sachets in the fridge. The room was airless. I think escape route if there was a fire did not exist. For the first time after many bookings I was let down. I have stayed in much better basic accomodation for half this cost.
Good location. But no parking and lifts.”
Location is good in CBD. But there is no dedicated parking. You have to rely on street parking which is limited to 1 hour. There is no lift. If you get a second floor room, it can be tiring going up and down.
Staff were friendly, however some had poor English. Cleanliness was not ideal. Under bed had not been cleaned for sometime. Bathrooms repairs did not appear to be completed. Toilet needed a thorough cleaning
Short break in Hobart ”
The rooms on entry was clean but the beds and rooms were not tidied for whole stay. They went in to change towels if we left it on floor but beds and floor not swept. The coffee and tea were topped up . Location wise it was just up a hill and convenient. Restaurant in hotel were mediocre. They served Japanese meals but not sure how much training they had. Better ones nearby
Good location ”
It is easy to access everywhere walking distance. Stuff was very helpful.
Good value. ”
Convenient. Tiny room with little counter space. Staff could have told us to use cold draft stopper as it got quite cold in the room. Overall the cons are offset by the reasonable price.
Excellent value on Harrington”
Centrally located, clean, comfortable with excellent staff. Only downside was no lift but the staff member lugged my heavy suitcase up to the 2nd floor
