Disappointing but has potential ”
This hotel looks much better on the website than it actually is. The website claims the hotel is 80 km from Jaipur; we were staying in central Jaipur and it was 105 km, and took 3 hours by road. It is very rural. The hotel is quite clean inside but the grounds are quite unkempt. There was a rat in our room. We were the only guests and I got the impression that guests were quite rare. (The other half of the palace is also a hotel, but booked out by an 'adventure' tour company and I got the impression that there was a much higher turnover of guests here.) The owner was very friendly, organising a jeep safari for us and a camel cart ride. However, we were looking forward to a boat trip on the promised lake - which turned out to be entirely dry because of the lack of monsoon. (I sympathise with the lack of water, but the boat ride should not have been promised.) The Palace has potential but needs much more investment and attention to detail to make it a destination I would recommend.
