“Good location, peaceful setting”
We stayed in one room for 3 nights with our adult daughter. The room was comfortable and a reasonable size with a beautiful view of the park and Mt Fuji in the distance. This is the 2nd time I have stayed in this hotel. It is less than 10 mins walk to Shinjuku station and shopping area (most of the walk to the station can be done using the underpass if the weather is cold or wet). The hotel also provides a shuttle bus. Close proximity to the park also means that it is a peaceful refuge after a day's busy sightseeing. Our deal included a choice of Japanese set menu or Western buffet breakfast and there was an excellent selection. Overall, we felt it was good value for money. We also ate one night in the Caffe which had a reasonable range of pizza, pasta & other Western style dishes. We found the staff to be very efficient, polite and friendly. I would definitely be happy to recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the Shinjuku area.

“Comfortable and convenient”
The nonsmoking king bedrooms are clean and nicely presented, the hotel is generally quiet and relaxing. The PJs and the pillow menu are a welcome bonus. A great place to unwind in Tokyo.

“Excellent service and location”
The hotel staff and management were helpful, friendly, and spoke great english. They looked out for your every need and request. The room we booked was spacious compared to japanese standards. The location was excellent. The hotel had free shuttles to and from the shinjuku station. The hotel also was accessible for at your door drop off service on the limosine bus from narita airport. The hotel also was accessible for pick up service by tour companies. All were major pluses for us.

“Too business like and not so friendly ”
Although the hotel is in a great location it felt very business like and didn't welcome you like most hotels, there was no mention of facilities at check in just s recommendation to upgrade to a larger room . Very clean and like all large hotels it was sterile and efficient but served the purpose I think next time I want character and fun hotel.

“Old, inconvenient and indifferent.”
The Hyatt Regency Shinjuku is a long walk from the food, shopping and entertainment areas of Shinjuku. Knowing this they provide a shuttle bus every 20 minutes but the drop-off is still a good 10-minute walk to the train station and the real heart of the action, and the last bus is at 10 pm --- way too early for a district so alive. Even the exit that leads to the hotel from the train lines beneath is a 15 minute walk and closes at 11pm. Imagine having to go back to your hotel at 10 or 11 on New Year's Eve, as we did! One could put up with this if the service weren't so indifferent. But the concierge desk consistently offered little, even wrong, information; housekeeping ignored a conspicuous big spot on the mattress protector despite my putting a note beside it; and it took 2 extra hours to get our and our children's rooms on the same floor! This experience is so atypical of Japanese hotels, and we have stayed at quite a few. Not doing that again.
