🌟 Hotel Review – Lodge 61 🌟 I have stayed at Lodge 61 twice now, and both experiences were excellent. The hotel provides clean and comfortable rooms, a convenient location, and a very welcoming atmosphere. What truly makes the stay special is the staff—especially Mrs. Bee. She has been extremely helpful on both of my visits, always attentive, friendly, and ready to assist with anything I needed. Her kindness and professionalism really make guests feel at home. Because of the great service and comfort, I chose to return for a second stay, and I will definitely come back again in the future. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!
Lodge 61 is located right in the middle of everything. Between Thonglor and Ekkamai. You are walking distance from everything you imagine when you think Bangkok. You could spend your entire trip in the area. The coffee in the lobby is excellent if you like a strong brew. For this value, don’t expect amenities like free soap and individually wrapped toothbrushes and paste, you will need to buy your own. Bathrooms have thin walls, but it was never an issue. If I had to say something was missing, it was a microwave. Room was a little dusty, but clean. No bedbugs or insects in the room or hallways. Wifi is decent, streaming will be spotty depending how far down the hall you are. Expecting the AC to be loud, not to me. The MRT is right outside your door and you are between two stops. Movie theater, restaurants and 24hr convenience stores are directly across the street. We took taxis everywhere for under 200baht on average. If you are used to APA style hotels, probably not. I you are looking for value beyond free toiletries, I don’t think there is a better deal to be had.
If you’re traveling on a budget and want to be right in the middle of everything, this place delivers. The location is excellent: easy access to transport, food, and nearby attractions, which made getting around simple and cheap. For the price, it’s solid value and hard to beat in this area. That said, be aware of one clear downside: it’s on a main road, and the traffic noise is noticeable, especially at night. Light sleepers should plan accordingly or bring earplugs. Cleanliness was decent, staff were helpful, and the room did the job without frills. Bottom line: great choice if location and price matter most to you. Just don’t expect peace and quiet.
Checked in a bit early, no extra charge. Decent size room, clean, good wifi. was 2 elevators to use. In the lobby was a sitting area for the food stalls just outside the building. I didn't try the food but they were always busy with customers so that says something positive. Staff was friendly. Across the street was a Cineplex mall with movie theater, bowling and several restaurants. Can take the skywalk from BTS into a building, use the elevator to ground floor for easy access to the hotel. 7 11 across the street from hotel also. Phed Mak restaurant, a museum, a planetarium and the Ekkamai bus station is just across Sukhumvit Road.
The hotel is an older building, however the room were clean. You can get kettle and hair dryer from the reception desk which is available 24x7. 7-11 is just opposite the hotel so you are sorted with daily needs, You need to get off ekkamai bts station and walk opposite direction towards Thong lor and within 5-7 min you will see McDonald's center a big McD icon is there need to enter the street next to it, also at starting of street Bradbury is there - world's loudest massage center. Overall comfortable stay. Can recommend if travelling on budget, safe for couples do not expect lavish facilities whatever is a available is good
I stayed for three nights. I deposited 500 baht in cash at check-in. Credit cards are not accepted. All the staff were very polite and kind. The cleaning was thorough, and I was able to spend a very comfortable time. The shower had no issues with hot water. There were no power outlets by the bed. A power strip with sockets and USB ports was provided at the desk. Due to the building's structure, there were bugs (especially small ants) everywhere in the room. They were even on the bed. On the second day, a lot of mosquitoes came out of the wardrobe, so countermeasures are necessary. I brought some mosquito repellent from Japan, but I wished I had a spray to eliminate mosquitoes. I booked a twin room for a low price, but when they realized I was using it alone, they changed it to a king bed. The amenities included two bath towels, a bath mat, one soap, some chewing gum for brushing teeth, and toilet paper. They also changed the towels for me. An electric kettle and a hairdryer have to be taken from the reception area by yourself. You need to bring your own toothbrush, slippers, loungewear, and shampoo. Since there is traffic, arranging a Grab car takes some time. However, a motorcycle can arrive in less than a minute at any time. I think the quality is more than sufficient for the price. I would like to use it again.
It is good, clean, and a great value for budget travelers. A true hidden gem. When I first arrived, I was seriously worried, looking at the building, the lifts and the shop on ground floor. But when I arrived in the room, despite looking old, everything was working well, sheets are clean and good smelling, There is an open air restaurant and a very tasty Japanese restaurant at ground floor. Check in and check out was easy and fast, even though the person couldn't speak English. I am totally satisfied.
Everything I wanted for a one-night stay in Bangkok. I came in at 7:00 p.m., went to sleep at 9:00 p.m., and woke up at 7:00 a.m.. This means my experience is primarily that I could get a shar and then sleep very well. Before getting up to catch my bus the next morning. Decent restaurant and coffee downstairs, right across the street from a 7-Eleven, Western restaurants, a. Cinema, and a few steps away from an ice rink. This is an older place, but I felt it was clean and acceptable for the time I stayed there. I'm able could again on my way back through town
It was a pleasant stay. A few minutes from the BTS station. 7-11 & many stores and restaurants are in a walking distance. The room was clean. The bathroom is very very simple with tiny soap and shampoo and conditioner. You can get more of them if you ask. You can watch you-tube, Netflix in the room. You can hear the noise of the running train, but it was okay to me. The staff was friendly.
I booked through Agoda for one week and extended another 4 nights. Room was spacious and clean with a huge comfy bed 4 people could sleep. Ac fridge safety box and landline phone is provided. Shower room was clean and hot-water had good temperature. Flat screen Tv but only Thai ch. location is great 7-Eleven across the road. BTS station 2 minutes walk to travel most of famous locations which only take couple of minutes by sky train. Plenty of decent restaurants and coffee shops also on walking distance. Hotel is also good value for money and most of its staff are very helpful and they make decent coffee from roasted coffee beans. I will certainly recommend this hotel.
Many thanks, you make our day :)
I stayed at this hotel, which is close to the Ekamai Bus Terminal, on my way back from Pattaya. Right in front is Major Complex, a commercial facility directly connected to BTS Ekamai Station, where there is a 7-Eleven on the first floor, although it is not yet reflected on Google Maps. The entrance to the 7-Eleven faces the hotel (there are about five steps leading up from the 7-Eleven side). The room is spacious, the bed is large, and the bathroom with a toilet is also spacious (no bathtub). The water pressure is satisfactory. On the fourth floor where I stayed, the BTS is directly in front, and the balcony is at a height where I could almost make eye contact with people inside the BTS, which initially seemed like a mistake, but after the last train passed, it was enveloped in silence, allowing for a good sleep. Smoking is permitted on the balcony. There is a hairdryer available for borrowing next to the front desk. On the eighth floor, there is a washing machine for 30 baht. The amenities include a rectangular mini soap and a pouch of Sunsilk shampoo. The entrance features a spacious cafeteria with high ceilings, and as you proceed towards the back of the cafeteria, you will find the front desk. To the right of the entrance, in front of the hotel, there is an excellent Khao Man Gai restaurant, and to the left, there is a tempting crispy pork restaurant (the noodles are also delicious). Both close in the afternoon, so dinner needs to be taken elsewhere. The hotel has a classical and heavy but simple ambiance, reminiscent of a setting for a hard-boiled movie, and I hope it remains as it is. The impression I got from the other guests was that they were all calm individuals. The staff is friendly and kind, but you need to request room cleaning and replenishment of consumables yourself. If you don't say anything, nothing will be done. However, if you do ask, the response is considerate. I find this gentle sense of being left alone to also be a comfortable point. I really liked this stylish hotel with an excellent location, so I'm considering extending my stay.
many thanks for your time. very kind of you. hope you have a wonderful holiday in our beautiful city. :)
Cheap room with basics. Bathroom is a let down as when you shower it gets everything wet. Walls need a good clean. Dead bugs and even people boogers on it. Other than that its fine for a budget traveller.
The location is an important factor that we chose because it's near Ekkamai, has a 7-Eleven, and has restaurants. Even though the accommodation seems to have been used for a long time, we still like to stay there. I will go support you again. I hope you can change to some new towels; that would be nice. This time, the bathroom door could close, which made me very happy. Hehe.
Clean, comfortable, everything was working, good wi-fi internet (but I had room close to the routers), TV with Thai channels only + YouTube, Netflix, Prime (if you have an account or the previous guest did not sign out of theirs), nice cheap street food restaurant downstairs, reception seems to be operational 24/7, location close to metro station.
Very basic room, on the old side with no view. But....shower warm even if ancient, fridge, very silent AC, clean and above all great friendly staff. Easy to find. Loads of things around or on a scooter ride. Not many facilities within the hotel to shout about. Chinese Restaurant on site...
Clean nice staff good location Hot water good Aircon small balcony good size comfy bed many food outlets around yes very good
The first time I used it was for about three days to clean an apartment that had been closed for a long time after COVID. I decided on this place because it was within walking distance to the apartment. This time, I stayed for a longer period of 11 days. The room was not facing the street, so I couldn't hear outside noise. I noticed one or two small ants in the room. For cleaning, if you leave a sign asking for cleaning outside the room, they usually come in the morning. Since it was a long stay of 11 days, I did laundry, but unfortunately, there were no hangers, so I bought some at Daiso and used them. The place to dry clothes is on top of the air conditioner’s outdoor unit. You can get a hairdryer and kettle at the reception. The amenities provided were just soap and shampoo. Everything else you have to prepare yourself. I'm considering whether to use it again, but it’s convenient because public transportation is nearby, so I will.
I was somewhat anxious after reading reviews beforehand, but it was unnecessary worry. I arrived late at night and left early in the morning, but the staff during check-in and check-out were friendly, the room was clean, and there were no bugs. If I had to point out something, the shower temperature was a bit lukewarm. Amenities included soap and shampoo. They lend you a hairdryer. The linens only included bath towels. The hotel itself is old, but considering the accommodation price, there were no issues. I checked out early, so I didn't use the dining room on the first floor, but the Khao Man Gai was 40 baht. It seemed like a nice atmosphere and I wanted to try it. If you have business in this area, I would consider staying here again.
Room is big. Beds comfy and clean. Staff are friendly. Good restaurant in the reception at locals prices. Bathroom is a full wet bathroom that im not a fan of. The walls in the room need a clean. But a great budget hotel.
It is a budget hotel, so everything is minimal and basic. It is not the best bedding you will ever experience, but the room is clean and it is a good price for the location. There is hot shower, a king bed, a thin duvet cover, 2 bottle of water, one-time shampoo packs and body soaps, hair dryer available upon request at the front desk, USB and international electric socket is a good touch. There is a THB500 deposit upon check in. It’s an ok option for a short stay. Wouldn’t recommend for a long term stay unless you are on a tight budget.
We had and early morning bus from the bus terminal. Very large clean room with good hot showers Noisy from the street and BTS but for one night it was perfect. Comfortable bed and pillows. WiFi drops at time.
Great location. And the room is spacious and clean. Facilities are a bit old definitely not a fancy one but based on the price it’s very good value. The restaurant in the lobby is a plus, tasty food and good coffee. Staffs are all nice. Didn’t regret staying here overall
I chose this hotel because it was low-cost and close to the bus station for Pattaya, where I could leave my luggage while I was there. Personally, it wasn't perfect, but it was a place to stay; however, it seemed like little bugs were coming out of the drain, and since my companion is not good with insects, they had quite a hard time with it. We managed with Thailand's famous mosquito repellent spray, haha. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean for the price. There was also a small balcony where smoking seemed possible. The Wi-Fi was good, and since the shower was from National, there were no issues with water temperature or pressure. Also, there was a restaurant on the first floor. The food was surprisingly inexpensive and tasty, and there’s a famous Gapao restaurant nearby, as well as a supermarket and a train station within walking distance. It seems that many Japanese live around here, as there are Japanese-oriented supermarkets and shopping malls, making it a surprisingly pleasant hotel. There's a famous noisy massage parlor next door, haha. I thought it might be a decent place for single men staying long-term in Thailand. It’s not too far from Asoke, so if you're on a budget trip, I personally think it might be worth staying here again. 😉
The room is smaller but it has everything I need. A king bet, tv, desk and fridge. It’s in a great location close to the BTS transit and many restaurants including a couple on site. The food is very good and affordable. There’s a mall with a cinema and a 7-11 right across the road. For me it’s a great 3* hotel with wonderful staff
Excellent value for money for a few days, especially if you travel on by bus from Ekkamai as it is very close. But if Agoda is offering breakfast don't take it as it is not actually available in the hotel. We had to request a refund for that.
Although they gave us a comfortable room, the way they treat us is not pleasing. At first, I asked them to have a non-smoking room, and they gave me a smoking room, which, when I first came in the room, smelled really bad, maybe because they gave me a smoking room. In the first place, I asked them to give me a non-smoking room, and they gave me another room in which I stayed during my first visit. Overall, I can recommend this lodge for convenience, especially if you want to have a convenient transportation going to Pattaya or Chonburi.
Convenient if you're just in and out, if you spend most of the time outside of hotel. The place was pretty clean, staff very polite. There is no kettle or hair drier in a room, but you should be able to get it upon request. Location not the greatest, but the good thing is that its so close to the train station so you can easily commute to other areas. It's also very noisy. Like, very, very noisy. I saw someone wrote a review about the noise, but I didn't get it too seriously. Well, it's pretty bad, even tho I sleep with earplugs. Overall, decent enough for a few nights stay.
The description of the property is totally incorrect. Agoda should review and check details stated. For a start, it is stated as a 3 star accommodation with TV, safe etc but on the front desk they have a notice saying that they were a budget place and so don't have those facilities. I don't have any problem with the lack of facilities as the price is really cheap, the staff was really good and friendly and the location was super convenient. If you just required a cheap clean room to stay in then this place is for you. Just bring some ear plugs as the traffic and train noise is very loud even in the middle of the night. Oh, also we were on the 8th floor and couldn't get the wi-fi to work at all.
This is not the first time I have stayed here, but the second time after moving abroad for a year and a half. The room is clean, as advertised, and the food downstairs is as delicious as ever. The kettle and hair dryer can be requested at the counter as before. However, this time there was one issue. Before booking the accommodation, I called to inquire about the late check-out. On the morning of check-out, I had to go to the transport office, so I asked the staff at the counter to notify them about the late check-out. The documents stated that check-out at 3 PM costs 300 THB, the next hour is 100 THB/hr, and 7 PM is 800 THB. But the staff informed me that 3 PM is 1 PM and 7 PM is 5 PM, which does not match the posted documents. Out of confusion, I asked and explained what I understood. The staff said they would consider giving a discount, which I did not want; I just had a question about the details that were posted. I then decided to book one more night through the app because it was close to check-out time and I was outside, with only my husband and child, who do not speak Thai, at the hotel. Please change the documents at the counter to reflect the correct details for mutual understanding. According to international standards, it should be 1 PM = 13:00, 3 PM = 15:00, 5 PM = 17:00, 7 PM = 19:00. That's all I have to say.
It is close to the train station and also bus station. There are many massage shops near here. Room is clean but there are ants inside the bathroom. But it’s ok for one night.
Great spot and location for the price. Wifi was good. Rooms clean. AC gets super cold. 7 eleven across the street. Close to BTS and many great restaurants and bars. Even have affordable Thai restaurant down in the lobby. 500B deposit for room key. Elevator which was so nice.
I booked accommodation for 3 days and 2 nights at an average rate of 850 baht per night, which, to be honest, is almost impossible because the hotel is located right next to Ekkamai BTS and close to Ekkamai bus station, making it convenient to take the bus back and forth, and also easy to access the BTS. I timed the walk from the hotel to the BTS station, which took about 10 minutes (with luggage). The hotel is at the beginning of an alley, with a 7-11 across the street. In the morning, there’s a restaurant downstairs selling food for only 50 baht. - I checked in around 8 PM, and the receptionist was very pleasant. There is a room deposit of 500 baht (refunded after checkout). - I got a connected room because the king room was fully booked; the connected room has a door connecting to another room, but it was locked, which was not a problem. - The condition of the room was very clean, even cleaner than I expected. The air conditioning was cool, there was a TV, and a refrigerator (but I had to turn it on myself; it wasn’t cold when I first entered). - The bathroom was clean, with a bar of soap in a package and individual packets of shampoo provided based on the duration of our stay. There was no toothpaste or toothbrush provided, so I had to prepare my own. - There was a water heater. - The water pressure was strong with no issues. - Towels were prepared, there was a wardrobe, and the internet wifi was very strong, but I had to connect correctly. A downside is that it blocked some websites. Overall, I find this price satisfactory. The only downside is that the room does not have good sound insulation; I could hear outside noise quite clearly, but at night, it wasn't particularly loud unless there was an event happening. Pros: 1. Cheap price 2. Close to Ekkamai BTS and bus station 3. Cheap restaurant downstairs, and a 7-11 across the street 4. Clean room with sufficient essentials, considered "worth it" compared to the price 5. The staff was friendly, helpful, and cheerful, not grumpy. Cons: - The room is not soundproof. - Internet blocks some websites, making them inaccessible.
The room is spacious and comfortable. Above all, the highlight is the Khao Man Gai served in front of the reception on the first floor, it's the best. The EAST BUS TERMINAL to Pattaya and Si Racha is on the opposite side of the road. However, crossing the road is dangerous; it is safer to use the pedestrian bridge or go via BTS Ekamai Station.
I found this accommodation while searching for a reasonably priced room that could accommodate three people. There were many shops along the street from the station to the hotel, and with a Seven-Eleven right in front, it was very convenient. The Khao Man Gai from the shop downstairs had a gentle flavor and was delicious. The room was spacious and comfortable. The small balcony had a screen door, so it felt nice to sleep with it open at night. The bed was also large, and the thin comforter was just right for a comfortable stay. I stayed for five nights, and by the last day, I felt so at home that I couldn't tell if I was at a friend's house or in Bangkok. It was a rustic and clean old-style inn that I really liked. There was a sign for Shimuken next to the accommodation, and every time I left the inn, it made me feel like I was being watched over, which I appreciated.
We were given a very spacious room on the 3rd floor with a big window. What's inside the room: 1 big bed can fit 3 persons 1 extra bed 1 side table 1 console table 1 table with a mini fridge fixed with it 1 big cabinet with hangers inside Private comfort room with hot shower and bidet You can ask for a hairdryer and an electric kettle at the front desk and return it before checking-out. What's nearby: 7eleven convenience store Starbucks Cinema next building Phed Mark Ekkamai bus station The restaurant at the ground floor is a must try!
It’s a great deal at this low price, just a 3-minute walk to Ekkamai Station. There's a Seven Eleven in front and a movie theater as well. MaxValue is nearby too, but there’s no kitchen, so it's not suitable for long-term stays where you want to cook. The building is old, the shower room has a vintage vibe, and the toilet can get a bit wet, but there is plenty of hot water. The bed is king-sized, but since it’s separate, you probably won’t be disturbed by your partner's movements. From the window on the 5th floor, you can see the BTS, and if you're sleeping, the noise might be a little bothersome; sensitive people might have trouble sleeping. There are no rooms, but the staff keeps everything clean, so I have no complaints. However, if you're concerned about the oldness, you might want to choose somewhere else. The reception always greets you warmly, and the noodles on the first floor are very delicious.
The location is good as it is right in front of Ekkamai Station. It's a perfect spot to take a break for one night on the way from Pattaya to Vietnam. I don't know about breakfast since I didn't have it, but the cost-performance is good. The accommodation is in the 30,000 won range, and that's about it. If you expect to stay at a 50,000 won or higher accommodation while paying around 30,000 won, that's not going to work.
Considering the price and the location, it's a good option. Not fancy at all, but worth the money. The cleaning staff is nice also. The biggest issue for me was that all night a lot of small cockroaches appeared at the room. So they really need a super strong pest control.
This budget hotel is value for money for those on the tight budget. The location is super convenient for travel, only 1 minute to a bus stop and 5 minutes to Ekamai BTS station. The staff is friendly and helpful.
If you're a young backpacker it's a step up from a dorm. Anyone else may find facilities sorely lacking. Bed was clean but sheets ancient with holes. Shower was powerful and hot, but your bathroom is the "wet" or local style eg toilet and shower and basin The room was quiet, facing away from 24/7 Sukhuvit, and there was quite a view from the 6th floor!. Rare in that area now with skyscrapers cheek by Jowl. When I say the room was clean, that doesn't mean the walls, phone and remote weren't grubby. Large old very cold bar fridge. A safe, not fixed to anything. The blind hiding the view didn't work, and was filthy. The aircon was adequate, but was on the lowest setting to make a difference. The wifi password didn't work, and the night porter couldn't fix it. I was happy enough as I slept well but the other half was in a foul mood, she's spoilt! I've spent nights in far worse for more money in this long drifting lifetime. I was there to get a decent shower, and a sound sleep with no absolutely no frills, and to that end, it delivered.
I have stayed in Lodge 61 many times. The staff, are friendly and very efficient. The Lodge is next to a Mall with a cinema, which fits my needs. It's close to Ekkemai Mall, BTS, and the regional bus station. It's close to many restaurants. The rooms are not modern, but clean, and large enough, the mattress is good, and the airco and hot water work well. I hope to come again.
Booked a standard double room for 2 nights as a start but eventually I made a "few" consecutive bookings to totally stay for almost 2 weeks. I like the location which is close to Ekkami BTS, Bus station to Pattaya, the Ekkami mall with Mac and & 7-11. There is no hotel lobby at all, and your enjoyable space is your room, which is comfy with a reasonable size fridge. The room has a king size bed and is serviced daily with good housekeeping staff. Air con is working well. Over these time, I stayed in Room 507 and 605 with open view and sunlight. Pricing is reasonable for this hotel range. Recommended.

The advantages are the affordable price and location. It is located right in front of the bus terminal, making it very convenient if you need to use the bus terminal early in the morning or late at night. However, a downside is that the bedding condition, particularly the bed springs, seems to be old, causing the bed to shake with the movement of vehicles on the nearby main road. Also, since it is in a good location, you can hear motorcycle noises from the main road. Do not forget that you need to bring all personal toiletry items (including a hairdryer). Despite all the above reasons, I believe it is a really excellent hotel where you can rest for a reasonable price.
I stayed for 4 nights. It is economical but i feel like some basic facilities were missing. Like we received water with glass but no coffe cup was there. Room are clean but the bed sheets or the blanket they give is not clean always. In my case i had request 2 times to get a clean blanket. Staffs were gentle and helpful, but they lack of clear english communication. Its sometimes irritating that you have to spend so much effort just to get a simple information. I would recommend young lads/ ladies looking for economical place they can choose it. Not any couple who wants to a gentle stay. However, it is near to Ekkamai BTS, about 5 mins walk, which is a great advantage for traveller.

“Great Value Stay in a Quiet Yet Convenient Location”
I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. it matched my budget perfectly and offered great value for the price. The room was clean and serviced daily, which I really appreciated. The front desk operates 24/7, so check-in and any assistance were always smooth and hassle-free. Inside the room, the facilities were generally good. I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, although I did notice the absence of a hair dryer and an electric kettle, which would have been useful. The location is excellent, just a short walk to BTS Ekkamai station, making it easy to get around the city. It’s also close to a small mall and a 24-hour 7-Eleven, which came in handy. One of the highlights for me was the peaceful atmosphere. The area isn’t crowded with tourists, so it’s ideal for travelers who prefer a quiet and relaxing environment. If you’re looking for a calm place to stay that’s still well-connected and convenient, this is a great option
