Friendly customer service staff very helpful
Great location and the staff were amazing. There was nothing that was too hard or difficult. Room was fine and had everything we needed for a weekend girls trip. I will definitely stay here again.
Basic Amenities in Central Location”
Great value for money for guests who are looking for a place to stay with the key necessities. Central location within walking distance to QVM, Melbourne Central & public transport. Would definitely stay here again.
Excellent value and location ”
The Stargate is very clean and comfortable and our room was spacious. It is a very short walk to the Queen Victoria Market and an easy walk to Chinatown and the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended
Tried but failed”
We booked for family with three children. Turned up to find out there was no parking available. Then when we went to our room found out there was no bed for our youngest. So we requested spare bedding, whilst trying to get beds sorted found a dirty nappy under kids bed. Mould above the shower and just a genre grotty feel. TV sound was scratchy and needs new cable.
Close to Queen Victoria Market”
Quite and good location, very close to Queen Victoria Market.
I stayed 4 nights but the room was not made up and did not change towels. Asking reception she said that they make up the room every 3 days. Poor services.
Perfect Hotel but Old kitchen equipment”
The hotel location are perfect. Close to 7/11 and other store. A lot of food nearby. My stay was nice, but the kitchen equipment ( saucepan, etc ) was old and need replacement. But overall, everything was just nice.
Value for money”
Value for money. Its a decent apartment, clean bed and towel. Some of the kitchen utensil are not clean. Like the cooking pot look burned and dirty, stained on plates, spoon. If you are looking for basic, this is a good place to stay. There is 7-eleven around the corner and a minimart. 3 mins walk to Queens Victoria Market.
GREAT ROOM ”
It was very good value for money, my only issue was that I was booked to leave at 10am before heading to hospital, and because of a fire in the basement, we were up ALOT earlier than 10am and left the building. So really didn't get what I paid for in the end.
Excellent Apartment Hotel. Ignore the mixed and bad reviews. ”
After reading mixed reviews, I wasn't really sure to book the hotel, but I took my chances. My room was really clean and tidy. Bed sheets were clean. Has Kitchenette which has microwave, utensils, coffee machine, coffee and tea provided with milk, cutlery, glasses, mini refrigerator with freezer, and any other amenities. Includes towels and bathroom amenities. Wall plugs are not international, so you would need international travel adapter for Australia. Has a mini Balcony to stand. Split ductless Air Conditioner worked great with remote provided. Very Close to queen Victoria market just 5-7 minutes walk for all your shopping needs (including wide variety of Souvenirs) and cheap and delicious food including fresh fruit and vegetables. It falls in the free Tram Zone. Just a quick 5 minute walk from the tram stop. Computer table along with ample of closet space including mulitiple shelfs, iron and ironing table. Restroom has shower with instant hot water. Hair Dryer also provided.
You pay for what you get!”
I have stayed with Nova Stargate for a couple of times. I feel that for the price you pay, it's worth the money. Melbourne Central is just 5 minutes away on foot and you can find all sorts of cuisine. My only criticism is the cleanliness, where you can see some stains on their kitchen utensils and some rust on their electric kettle. However, staff were very attentive when I asked them to change the kettle.
When I came to my room there was still somebody's hair in the bath
Nice cheap accomodation near Vic Market ”
We had a 2 bedroom unit , beds were very comfortable linen was clean . We asked about late checkout and were told it didn’t have it . There is a huge noisy construction site behind the hotel which is not advised in listing and it should be noise started at 7 am
Value for money ”
I booked this for a city catch up with a friend. We were both impressed by the size of the room. It was the cheapest option I found in the city and my expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised, the size was great. Plenty of room for two people. Everything was clean and well presented. Not luxury maybe, but definitely not bad. I was surprised to find out we had a balcony as well. Due to construction works it’s not the best view but a perk none the less. My friend and I only used the room for the bed and bathroom, and only for the single night but there was kitchen facilities. You could cook in the room if you wanted to. The storage was way more than we expected. If you are staying for a while and have lots of luggage then it would be handy. The bed was very spacious. Again, another pleasant surprise. Considering the quality we got for the price, I would recommend. The location maybe isn’t as central as some would like but it’s by no means out of the way.
nice well set up hotel in great location”
comfortable hotel near to transport and shopping
Good bed down location. ”
If you are visiting Melbourne to see Melbourne (not to sit in your room all day) than it's a really good place to bed down: I recommend. The per night rates are similar to serviced apartments in Gold Coast and Brisbane, but rooms are smaller. However, the room size is comparable and rates are affordable when you compare it to other accommodation in Melbourne CBD (Excluding back packers/shared accommodation). I read a lot of bad reviews on cleanliness and wear & tear. Perhaps those people confused this place with the Hilton or some other 5 star facility. Cleanliness was as average as I've ever seen anywhere else in serviced apartments. Same goes for the wear & tear of furniture and of the apartment itself. Staff was friendly, straight to the point and caused me no issues. Towels are changed & bins are emptied every morning (uncommon).
Perfect Location, Perfect Price”
If you're after a simple room near the city centre for a good price, then you can't get much better than Nova Stargate. Close to restaurants, public transport and only 15 min into the heart of the city. Not the most up to date hotel in the world, but you get what you paid for. It was mainly clean - the bathroom was a little rundown - but more than adequate. The check in people were great and I'd stay here again.
clean, spacious and good location”
all you need is there. a car park for additional 20 AID per night, iron and board, safety box, small kitchen area to prepare breakfast, shower with nice pressure, daily cleaning, small balcony. Ask for or room not facing the main road, opposite is a backpackers and the guys stay out on the street and can be noisy sometimes.
Decent room with great location”
Room was okay, aircon was a bit old and noisy. Very near to famous Queen Victoria Market and easy access to free tram station. Parking is chargeable though. Remember to pick up some minicards at reception to enjoy discounts at some tourist spots.
