I’d come back! ”
Great price, great location and friendly and helpful staff. The amenities make for a convenient stay. 5 minutes walk to Flinders St Station and close proximity to the city as well as the many restaurants on Southbank.
Great service and value for money ”
This hotel is very centrally located, New and a delight to stay in. The staff were extremely helpful with food recommendations and greeted us with a warm smile everytime we walked past. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!!
excellent location”
The hotel staff are very responsive to query over the counter that really made u at home. Coffee at the Liddy was good. Room are clean n easy to move around to CBD area and skybus within walking distance which is a plus.
Once again, Oaks has satisfied on all aspects”
The room could be at least 10% larger so that we can place our suitcases inside. We had to put our hard cover luggage in the living room throughout the stay. But since this is more of a developer's issue, so it has nothing to do with Oaks.
Feels like home”
GOOD LOCATION - in front of Eureka Skydeck ; near Flinders station; lots of restaurants nearby (southgate) ; 15-20min walk to the outlet shops (DFO south wharf) NICE & FRIENDLY STAFF - we arrived early and when the receptionist checked there's an available room, we were checked in early. We also checked out early and just left our things in their luggage storage. We were also given a map on the nearby attractions that we can go to. Most of the things we need at home were provided (like the kitchen and dinnerware). There's even a vacum cleaner, washing machine and drier. A convenient store is just across the street. Wifi is free for 30 minutes consecutive use per day. After that, a fee will be applied. Would be better if wifi is just free or longer limit than 30 mins.
Good hotel but painful to be dropped off at ”
Has everything you need kitchen, living room etc. Rooms can be small and new facilities which are now starting to tear or fall apart. Value for money just painful to be dropped off at as it’s on a busy road. Would suggest the hotels nearby off busy road?
Good location shame about the room ”
Friendly Staff and a decent price but let down by low quality room design and greedy developer building. The “executive apartment” had useless nooks and useable spaces. Only 2 lifts for a 30 story building..always a wait. Yes you get two bedrooms and two bathrooms but you’ll feel like you are sleeping in the fantastic furniture showroom with false walls.
Not clean ”
Small and kitchen not clean
Nothing impressive ”
Pros: 24 hour front desk. The daily housekeeping team did an awesome job. Location wise is not too bad, just need to cross a bridge within a short walk to the Flinder station, where there are plenty of shops around. Cons: Location is out of the free tram zone in cbd. There's a construction right beside the building where our balcony is facing. We were pretty much feeling disturbed and didnt enjoy our stay. Our request to change to another unit facing front was rejected.
Loud street noise. Small apartment”
We booked the 2 bedroom executive apartment, supposedly the biggest they have. While the kitchen and living room area is quite spacious, the bedrooms and bathrooms are very small. There is hardly any room to move around. There is only 1 air-conditioner in the living room, so it gets really hot in the bedrooms. Street noise is very loud. We are light sleepers, so we find it hard to sleep.
Location is good.”
Location is good. The receptionist is not friendly, provide none room information except tell me my room number. Balcony is sooo narrow; we paid extra to upgrade the room. Will stay in another apartment for next visit.
Clean n spacious ”
Check in was a breeze. Very clean cozy apartment. Only one air conditioner in the living area. Was ok as we travelled early summer still very cold. But mid to late summer might be a problem in both the rooms . Overall we hv a good 3 nights stay.
disappointed ”
not worth the money...room basic, bathroom small ensuite, sofa small and uncomfortable. staff were great and helpful. Location good Won't be staying at any Oaks again. Better apartments and hotels for less cash
Great location but a few teething problems.”
This hotel is in a great location in Melbourne. Close to Southbank and a short walk to the city via Flinders Station. Brand new but had a few issues. Bathrooms very small as were the bedrooms. Bed very comfortable. No power points on both sides of the bed. In our room they had a power cord running to the bed side table. Other than that would stay again for location alone.
Night away”
Hotel was nice, not most central location. Bit odd that you have to go threw some random back corridor to get to the lifts. Room is decent size but furniture choices are random and couch is Uncomftable
Feedback”
It was fantastic and close to the CBD yet nice and quiet within the rooms. The view was magnificent. It would be great if there were some information booklets on what to do in Melbourne. We travelled with our youngest and would certainly consider staying again with our other children.
Stuffy and uncomfortable”
The room is stuffy with inadequate air conditioning. To try and compensate for the substandard air conditioning they have placed a fan on the bedroom wall which only served to make us sick. Only two lifts create long waits in stuffy hallways that do not have any air conditioning. Steer well clear in summer. In addition to this the couch was tiny and uncomfortable which reduced the value and usability of the apartment aspect of the room.
Could be good ... but ... ”
It could be good, but ... We pre-paid a two-bed apartment. For the life of us we couldn't find the second bedroom. When we asked to be accommodated in what we'd paid for a guy arrived and seemed surprised that we "needed" a second bedroom. We said "no, just want what we paid for". The tables were not clean - sticky glass marks. The carpets also tired and stained. You can forego cleaning for a $5 gift voucher for breakfast. Yep ... that'll buy a cup of coffee ... possibly. You can use a gym ... but it's up the road somewhere. Oh ... the car park. That's up a street that they forgot to tell us was closed that day. So it was a circuitous route to get there - which, when you don't know the area, can become quite daunting and frustrating. There are two lifts for a very large building which become over-used at peak times. When one lift breaks down it's a real problem. Overall, I won't do it again.
Exceptional”
Excellent hotel marred by traffic noise in lounge room. Bedroom was quieter as it faced another direction.
Oaks Southbanks Melbourne”
Good location, wasn't expecting a 2 bedroom apartment. I will return
