First built in 1913 as a Travelers Club, this heritage property has been restored to retain the air of that era. The Melbourne Cricket Ground, Crown Casino, and the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Center are all nearby. The famous Flinders Street Railway station is across from Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne, while the airport is roughly a 30-minute drive away. The on-site Grill Restaurant specializes in Australian cuisine blended with Asian and European elements, while The Bar serves an array of cocktails and beverages throughout the day. Catering to business travelers, the hotel features a business center as well. The currency exchange services and 24-hour reception are added conveniences for guests staying at the Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne.

Great CBD stay”
This is a great place to stay. Our River View Room was great, clean, bed excellant, staff helpful, being on Flinders St puts it in an excellant spot to go anywhere. Only downfall was the late 3pm check-in. But definitely be staying here again.
Great location right opposite Flinders Street Railway Station”
Although I only stayed for one night, the location was great, right opposite Flinders St station, close to shops, restaurants, Southbank, NGV etc. The room was a bit small and the bathroom a bit squashy but bed was comfortable and had the usual amenities.
Clean, convenient and comfortable”
Staff were very helpful and it is a conveniently located hotel on Flinders Street. Right across the Flinders Street Station and within the free tram zone, walking distance from lots of bars, shopping and Queen Victoria Market. There is parking available for $25 a night - which is reasonable considering the hourly rates in Melbourne. Will stay here again!
Location and staff is its best attribute”
Pros-central location to everything-food, free tram, convenience stores, train station, iconic landmarks within free tram away, enthusiastic staffs, strong water pressure, complimentry bathroom accessories, free teas and coffee, daily room make-up service, near public transpos, tour pick-up venues, multi-ethnic food outlets around vicinity. Cons- kind of small rooms, limited view, not so well appointed room layout ( aircon blowing directly above heads; remedied it by repositioning bed)
Nice location and decent stay”
Pretty affordable price and location is along flinder street station, walkable to a couple attractions. Room reasonably clean and a frequent staying accomodation for the SIA attendants.
Great historical features. ”
Great historical building. Wonderful room with very comfy bed. Rooms were very quiet and view of flinders st station and Southbank looked amazing at night. Would recommend if you plan to experience Melbourne.
If your perfect holiday accommodation demands the most perfect location, then Rendezvous Hotel, in the absolute heart of Melbourne’s CBD has to take first prize. The tram stops, bus routes (even the free city hotel shuttle bus) and the train station are all virtually all at the entrance of this hotel! The reception staff were friendly and professional. The room we stayed in (Guest Room King) had all the amenities one would expect (safe, basic toiletries, tea and coffee facilities, television). The bed was firm, the accommodation neat, quiet and cozy. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic! The only regrettable thing was the shower over bath glass partition. This divider left water all over the bathroom floor. It was impossible not to flood the area around the toilet after having had a shower.
Close to Southbank”
Very clean & close to Flinders St Station & Southbank for great dining options. Our room was very small but had a great view of Southbank, however be prepared for the train noise. All in all a lovely hotel
Its a great place as a cheaper crash pad, but the rooms and bathroom are really small, even in the deluxe queen. My booking was also mucked up and the staff were quite relaxed about it all and didn't offer anything to compensate or even really show any remorse. Not ideal when you've just stepped off a plane. Shower pressure wasn't awesome and is quite cramped. Bright side is the bed was really comfortable and the pillows were really fluffy
Nice, warm room. I booked a twin but a king bed was made up in the room. I was attending a conference next door at Vic Uni so very convenient. Nice walk through Flinders Street Station and across the bridge to Southbank. I needed a microwave to heat up a dinner one night but the reception staff said there was none available in the hotel/cafe? Also I had a bottle of wine with a cork and they had no cork screws even in the bar? They do not take your bags or escort you to your room when you check in. I find that quite slack.
Good weekender hotel”
Good hotel for a weekender..close to everything Melbourne has to offer for a first timer or seasoned visitor to the city...leave the hotel for a higher standard and cheaper option for breakfast ..some work needs to be done in this area at the moment..I’m hoping this will improve ...
Air-conditioning was mal-functioning, which caused me fever and almost ruined my trip”
The temperature could be adjusted on the air-con control, but it will fall back to original temperature. So we thought we adjusted to 25 degree, but it was still at 21 degree. The wind was blown towards the bed and thus I fell sick the next day. Then I called the staff to check, and a gentleman came and told me to slowly adjust it upwards. However, it did not work. Then I raised the issue to a front-desk lady, but that is the end of the story. No change of room, no technician fixing the issue, no one checked with me about my status. I stayed with Hotel Rendezvous Melbourne three times, but was really disappointed this time.
Room without a view”
We stayed here a few years ago for our honeymoon. That time was great. This time was just satisfactory. The room was acceptable, but the complete lack of a view through the window, looking out onto an internal area, the light was grey and dismal, and we could see an adjacent room if the blinds were open, made the room dark and dismal. Everything else was okay. Location is great.
The property is well-situated. This along with the USD110 per night rate were the main selling points. Stepping out of the property, when you look slightly to your left you can already see Flinder Street Station which is one of the city's iconic landmarks - and it is beautiful. Around the corner on Elizabeth street, there's a 711 and 24/7 fast food chains; it's also walking distance from arguably the best coffee I tasted in AU - from Walker's Donuts. Flinder Street itself especially the block where this hotel sits isn't really the cleanest one (there were some vagrants hanging out in the area). I rated the staff 4/5 because of 2 instances where I felt the staff could have treated us better - nothing major. If the management needs more info, please feel free to contact me.
Near to everywhere”
The hotel is convenience, near to everywhere. Although the price is a bit expensive. However the staff are very great, allow us for early check in where we are already tired when we arrived hotel. May stay again.
Overall are good service and value for money. ”
As I’ve commented in earlier review. Took quite some time to look for my luggage. But in the end managed to get it back where the staff store it in the inner side of the store room. Overall. Nice and good deal and service. Cheers
Good service and location ”
I give staff three stars. My laggages were almost MIA. Just because of lack of communication among the staffs. Luckily in the end managed to get my laggage back which stored in the inner space of the store room. Overall it’s a good trip and hotel.
Pros - Good location, lots of food places walking distance, tram and train walking distance, quick check in check out Cons - secured parking is next door with a $25/24h surcharge and not directly connected to the hotel.
I booked rooms with breakfast but reception cannot find record, and ask me to contact Agoda myself! Seems this hotel not communicated well with Agoda, because my booking confirmation mentioned breakfast were included .
I had such nice time there, first night I booked bouble bed and we were az a couple,we had very bad experience with bed and next day I asked them to change the room with the queen size and they changed it with the very nice room and view I really appreciate for their nice job and lovely staff upfront door The hotel is very nice ,with beautiful heritage history in heart of city
