"I stay in this hotel at the last night of my trip. It was fantastic and unexpected-able. The hotel staffs are very warm welcoming all their clients. Their staffs should be rated as 6 stars. Although is bit pricey but it worth your money. They provide free mini bar. Their spa and massage is the best I had in Bangkok. Thank you so much for the Honeymoon preparation for my parents, they do love it very much. Once again thank you Grande Centre Point Sukhumvit 55, appreciated all the things you help us"

"The staff at Bless were extremely helpful to me and my husband, assisting us with little problems and questions with generous smiles and useful information. Housekeeping was fantastic, and willing to clean your place anytime before 5pm (which was great since we got sick and needed to sleep in late). We opted out of breakfast because there was a lovely kitchenette, buying ourselves cooking ingredients at the fantastic gourmet market in the posh nearby mall. If you ask the staff in advance, they will put pans, a knife, spatula, cutting board and other cooking supplies in your kitchen, which is already equipped with plates/bowls/classes/placemats/cutlery. We were upgraded to a deluxe sweet (thank you!!!) and really enjoyed it. Nice bathroom, comfy bed. The only tiny nitpick was the small gym with no siginificant weights for my poor fitness-obsessed husband. But seriously we barely missed it with all there is to do in Sukhumvit. Right near Phrom Phong station--an easy walk. And do NOT miss Harrity's Irish pub/restaurant. Hands down the best food I've had living and traveling in Asia for 4 years. If you're there on the weekend, order their Weekend Roasts and you'll thank me. Harrity's is very, very close to Robin Hood pub. "

"Grace Hotel's has a superb location on Sukhumvit Soi 5. There are plenty of Muslim Halal Food Restaurants alongside Local or Indian Restaurants and Street food. Absolutely amazing place to stay if you are from Middle east, Gulf or Arab and fond of halal foods. The Halal food Restaurants are all around the hotel area which are filled up with Abaya and Burkha clad guys and ladies. I have seen Arab guys stands in Line and even wait for hours to book a room here may be for some extra days or last minute change in plans......"

"The hotel and room are very clean and modern. Looks like it was just built about 5 years ago. These a large 7/11 (turn right from Motel) store a couple minute walk away with a couple restaurants (turn left, 60-200 baht). One closes clearly while the other one closes at midnight. These not many places to eat to be honest hence they have a delivery service where the menu can be found at reception. I found it a bit hard to order because they knew little English but I manage to add one number to LINE and sent her my order (40-200 baht). Internet was good but dropped out a little. At night it would become a little slow but usable where it was fine during the day. BTS is about a 15 minute walk where these are Motorbike Taxis if you turn left (3 minute walk away at the end of the road). I end up just using Grab to get around. These more places to eat including street food if you go to the other 7/11 (turn left than right at the end of the road)."

"This is my first time staying at Holiday Inn Express Sukhumvit 11 and this hotel is pretty new as well... I arrived on 11 july at about 7:30pm local time... My booking was a Standard queen bed room but when I checked in, the staff over the counter tell me that all queen bed room are fully booked, only left with double bed room available... so I ask them is there any way they can squeeze in a queen bed room for me so this frontdesk customer services name (PM) help me out with the problem and also been a super nice and caring customer service I ever encounter... I will definitely go back to Holiday Inn Express Sukhumvit 11 when I come to bangkok again... "

"I live in Thailand and need to be in Bangkok 2 or 3 times a month. I have a handful of Sukhumvit hotels in the $65-$90 price range that I use regularly. The Galleria 10 Sukhumvit is one of my favorites. I have been staying there since they first opened as the Ramada Encore. Although the name and ownership has changed, it still maintains it's high standard and quality. The staff are attentive and friendly. It's location is great, as soi 10 is a quite soi (street) but a short walk to all the hustle and bustle Bangkok has to offer. The roof top restaurant/bar Leap Frog is great place to chill."

"in the capital, sukhumvit road serves as a main commercial street, and this section is often congested, even at late evening hours. the chalerm mahanakhon expressway has an exit at soi 1. ratchadaphisek road crosses sukhumvit at the asok (asoke) intersection. the sukhumvit area of bangkok is easily accessible on the skytrain sukhumvit line, which runs from mo chit through the silom line interchange at siam square up to on nut on soi (side-street) 81. the bangkok metro's sukhumvit station interchanges with the skytrain at asok. the sois are numbered from west to east, with odd numbers branching off north-east of sukhumvit, and even numbers branching off south-west. the area between sukhumvit soi 1 and sukhumvit soi 63 is popular as residential area for western expatriates. japanese nationals tend to prefer from soi 21 asok intersection upwards, especially soi thong lo. rentals tend to be higher in the even numbered streets between soi 8 and soi 28 and in the odd numbered streets between soi 15 and soi 39. soi 12 is occupied mainly by indian expatriates, see phahurat."

"'Ibis Bangkok Sukhumvit 24' is 'Mercure Bangkok' and vice versa. It's a new hotel - everything is good. Located just a few steps away from BTS Skytrain station 'Phrom Phong' - very convenient. But, the room is a little bit small - thus feel confined when maneuver within the limited space. They have 82 TV channels (if you have time to watch!). Fruits for breakfast should have more varieties - to reflect Thailand, as garden of fruits. There is a halal restaurant 'Usman' - about 500m away. "

In and around Sukhumvit

More about Sukhumvit

Sukhumvit is Bangkok’s all-star shopping district, serviced by a spread of transport hubs, restaurants and entertainment complexes. Slick and modern, this district takes its name from Sukhumvit Road, essentially the backbone of Bangkok. It may not have many historic sites, but it more than makes up for this with cosmopolitan polish.

Sukhumvit certainly has something for everyone. Business travelers gravitate to five-star hotels around Queen Sirikit National Convention Center; tourists peruse back-alley bazaars and street cafés; while shoppers can pass entire days in the air-conditioned comfort of Sukhumvit’s huge shopping malls.

Most of the hotels in Sukhumvit are to the west around Robinson shopping center and several Skytrain (BTS) and subway (MRT) stations. To the east are shopping hubs like Emporium, the trendy J Avenue and Ekkamai Major shopping centers. The latter is next door to Bangkok's Eastern Bus Terminal. All of this is due north of a major bend in the Chao Phraya River, where express shuttles ply from one pier to the next.

Sukhumvit is a great place to be based because local transport lines head out to every major district in Bangkok. Sukhumvit itself branches off into countless side streets (sois), some of which can be explored on foot. Sois 4 and 21 (21/1 is called Soi Cowboy) light up at night with a tempting array of go-go bars and nightclubs.

There’s an art to exploring Bangkok, and first-time visitors are easily overwhelmed by the scope and sprawl of this city. The best experiences await those who narrow the field to one or two neighborhoods. Booking hotels in Sukhumvit puts tourists in a prime position to enjoy Bangkok’s cosmopolitan side, without giving up access to historic attractions.
