Art hotel in a fashionable district”
Was a quiet relaxing hotel, perfect for my husbands recovering after surgery at the nearby Epworth hospital. I didn't use the gym but we went to check it out - the pool looked lovely... But took us a lot of walking from our room to get to it in an odd location. The hotel has such great surroundings - supermarkets, cinemas, restaurants, shopping. The booking stated a 'kitchenette', which was not a kitchenette :/
Comfortable, friendly and clean”
A tick to most boxes. Only complaint is the bathroom. Too small for a spa/bath and no good as a shower. It is somewhat difficult to into and the shower head is no good. The bath is disproportionation to the size of the bathroom. You'll understand if you try to have a shower. Don't know if all rooms are design like this or just my room (room 309)
Large apartment style room, modern and functional”
Hotel was very nice, I booked the junior suite which proved to be a good choice. The room was huge, with a bathtub which we really enjoyed, amenities were great. Didn't get a chance to eat at the hotel. Wish they could provide free parking and free wifi as these become more essential to travelers. Staff was great but somehow managed to break our luggage on the last day.... Overall really enjoyed the hardware of the hotel! There's also a big W and woolworths nearby! Very convenient!
Clean & Nice Hotel”
this is my second time stay at the como. i love to visit melbourne either for business or vacation. this city always bring a good memories.. i love the weather and the food, not too hard to find local restaurant or cafe because the direction and people are very nice :)
We stayed at this hotel with 2 kids, the room was big and nice, we got small kitchen with almost all equipment we needed, like microwave, tooster, refreigerator. Our room can stay for 4 persons, because we got sofabed which is big and enough for 2 kids even for 2 adults i think. We really enjoyed our stay there, the staffs were very friendly and helpful.
Staff are amazing, great location ”
The staff working there were amazing, so friendly and helpful at all times, nothing was too much trouble. Hotel was in a great location I would highly recommend staying there and would stay there again.
It was leading in it's day and had fresh fruit and interested staff, now there is average and boring only.”
The bar is the most tired and did not offer a single aged rum and just one VSOP cognac poor no atmosphere and 3 star lighting. Sad to see that what used to be one of the leading hotels of the world is now so average.
Very good but not "Great"”
Positive: Spa suite was large, decor was splendid, a/v is 1st rate, bathroom is large and glamorous. Check in the as superb (Bjorn I think his name was) demonstrated world class service. Negative: King bed was actually a king zip with that unavoidable ridge running down the middle. I should just booked a single room as the king zips are terrible. Mattress was also old and definitely needs replacing as you could feel the springs. Cups in the room belong in a caravan park onsite cabin, not in a 5 star hotel. The same cups are in 3 star budget hotels and have no place in a Groovy hotel. 2 good size mugs would also hold enough water needed for the coffee or hot chocolate.
Breakfast buffet include sausage/egg/ham/bacon”
All good! Please provide more pictures about your rooms on your website or agoda.com, because I can't find what is included in each type of room and which bath tube is inside the room. Ham/bacon/egg/sausage shouldn't be an a la carte. We will stay at your hotel again next time.
Good but not amazing”
i did enjoy my stay in this hotel. The location was great, check in was easy, went straight to my room. The service was mostly good. I had some service issues I would have preferred to deal direct with the hotel but they didn't take me too seriously at reception so I spent my final evening at another hotel. Unsure if I would return.
We stayed here for our anniversary this year and absolutely loved it. The reception desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was great and a lot bigger than anticipated. We would definitely go back!
Chic and stylish, relaxing room layout”
The hotel is no doubt stylish and chic, the lobby impresses and immediately conveys a sense of relax to the weary traveller. The room layout was fantastic and very comfortable. As I added an extra night in the front end, I initially had a room that had electronic buzzing noises in the light system that could not be fixed. The bath tub was also quite high on the edge and difficult to get in and out. Some less agile people might easily trip. There was a lack of exhaust fan system in the bath room. I proceeded to a better room for the next 5 nights and the layout was even better. This time the shower and bath were separate with easy access. The bath had steps to get in and out of . However the lack of exhaust fan system persisted. This led to a musty smell that pervaded the bathroom after showers. We had a key card issue for 3 nights. The night manager had to come and open the doors for us. The most outstanding feature after the stylish design and relaxing rooms is the friendliness of all staff members who we reached out to for help. From concierge to reception staff to night managers. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Overall, the stay was exceptional. Everything about the hotel from the start of our weekend to the end was great. Vallet service was prompt and reasonably priced, and the suite was easily the best I have ever stayed in. The only fault I would have is that Agoda made it look like we were getting an amazing deal, when in fact the hotel itself usually charges the same amount, so a bit of false advertising if you really delve into it. Having said that, I cant really fault the hotel itself. Rooftop pool, gym, Spa in the suites, what more could you want?
Great atmosphere, fantastic staff”
Our stay was excellent. We stayed the 2 days following our wedding and they treated us so nicely with complimentary upgrade and champagne on arrival. The staff were so friendly and really did go over and above to make it a special weekend. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly delicious (with most hotels being a bit of a disappointment) and had a wide selection. The pool was on the smaller side but was really warm and got great sun despite being indoors.
Good hotel but not cheap.”
The stay was good, the room was very good, the staff was perfect, location is also perfect. Not cheap around that area, parking is $35, wifi is $25, other than those extra charges, it is not overprice, breakfast was included in that package. Food was up to hotel standard.
location to great shopping,and restaurants”
LOCATION! This hotel has never let me down.I have stayed many times, and it location to shopping and great restaurants could not be outdone. The staff are friendly, the rooms are high quality. I have tried a few other hotels in the area ,but they don't match the standard set by the Como s james
Clean, cosy and spacious...”
Very impressed with the clean, cosy and spacious room. The bathroom has all amenities including bathtub, standing shower and hair dryer. Areas of improvement: , inconsistent volume for different tv channels , limited tv channels , extremely noisy WC flushing system , cockroach in bathroom
A very large room in a luxury Hotel at a great rat”
This was a wonderful place to stay - walking distance to Chapel Street shopping and dining precinct, and a big spa bath in the enormous bathroom. Nothing was too much trouble for the cheerful staff. We will be back next time we are in Melbourne
One of the best”
This was my second visit to the Como. I have always been greeted warmly and asked how my stay was when leaving, which is a rarity it seems these days. The rooms are large with comfortable beds and a pillow menu. The room I had for this stay had a spa, which you can either fill yourself or have drawn for you with aromas and a liqueur, for a bit more luxury, with fluffy grey robes to pop on afterward. The rooms are fairly dark in the morning and there are lovely amenities including toothbrush & toothpaste. The alarm clock is not too bright which is great for me, as too much light ensures a restless night. The hotel is close to shops & the cinema, trams & trains. I love staying here for some R & R and look forward to returning soon.
Wonderful, a Class above the rest and great value”
Amazing. After two nights in a horror city hotel I checked in and was just in heaven. From my initial welcome, late checkout option, amazing breakfast (this is a must at The Como), everything was seamless and my stay a very pleasant finish to a busy working week. Even though my business is in the city, I would choose to stay at The Como. I will return for a private escape also. Slept very soundly in a luxury king bed, it was quiet and overall value for money.
