Hotel is situation very near to the Dunedin Railway stations and within 5mins walk to either Countdown or New World Marts Room is big and clean with a small balcony ledge, thou abit dated and comes with a smell upon check-in, which soon disperse after venting the room. Wifi signal is good and unlimited usage
Close to the Centre of town. ”
The hotel room was spacious and clean. Recently updated. Easy check in with parking out back. It was easy to walk into town so close to Dunedin attractions and tour operators. WiFi in room was good too.
Pleasant stay, rooms good but next door room really noisy from 12 - 4 am unable to sleep, husband went to receptionist who immediately rang the persons concerned and from then ok, ie the first night only. Our friends were in the room by the stairs and unfortunately the fire door was noisy on opening and shutting waking them up too. As for the value good but parking money raised the night stay. Otherwise was a pleasant stay thank you.
A very old fashion lift, hotel is under renovation now. It shud be back with new look. Location is very strategic
Excellent Location ”
the location of the hotel is very strategic, walking distance to The Octagon, Railway station, shopping all, and Countdown Supermarket is in the vicinity. Cabruary Factory is just at the behind the hotel. Overall the room is clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is not free, it is chargeable at NZ$10.00 per day. The kitchen utensils incomplete without a frying pan.
Handy hotel, but hot!”
Dunedin is usually not hot, but we were there when temperatures soared above 30C. There was no way that we could keep our north-facing room cool ...no fan and no air con. Windows were wide open at night, so consequently we had a lot of traffic noise. Hotel is very handy to Octagon, University and Hospital.
We were very impressed with this hotel. We were staying in the brand new wing and so everything was new and fresh. The room was simply but adequately appointed. The staff were magnificent, really friendly and approachable with nothing being too much of a problem. We ended up staying an extra night and this too was facilitated with the minimum of fuss. Having Nando's restaurant attached to the hotel was also a big plus. We were about 5min walk from the Octagon with plenty of shops etc close by so location was sensational.
Great Staff, Great Experience”
Located very strategic in the city centre, nearby major touristic spots. Besides that the hotel staff were very warm and helful. I will certainly stay in this hotel again on my upcoming visit to Dunedin. Great experience
This hotel located perfectly near the city 'hotspots' including the Dunedin Railway Station, George Street (shopping street and many restaurants), The Cadbury Factory, The Octagon, Otago Settlers Museum, The First Church of Otago... There were 2 big supermarkets (New World and Downtown) nearby so that we can safe money for food by buying foodstuffs from those supermarkets.
I have stayed here before and again I found it very satisfactory. Easy to check in, rooms are clean and it is very handy to shops, hospital and university. Lots of eating options within walking distance.
No other hotel beats Victoria's central location”
We stayed at the 2-bedroom penthouse. The 2nd bedroom was rather small with no dresser table or cupboard. The kitchenette was sufficient and the bathroom was spacious. The best thing about Victoria is its central location--it is within walking distance to the main shopping area in Dunedin.
Convenient location with free wifi”
The hotel is conveniently located next to the supermarket and Cadbury. There is also a Nando's restaurant downstairs, which has halal food for Muslim travellers. It's great that the hotel provides free wifi-many NZ hotels do not do so. The rooms are rather old and in need of a revamp, but they will suffice for a short stay. Shower gel should be provided instead of just soap bars. Overall, value for money for a stay in the heart of Dunedin.
Close to all that we need, very comfortable bed, but maybe they would let you know in advance that you have to pay for parking
Good location. Front office staffs are extremely helpful. Rooms are clean and spacious. Value for money.
pretty good however, the parking issue resolved subsequently.
